Treats cases where the Yin and Yang syndromes of Shanghan (Cold Damage) have not yet been distinguished, as well as seasonal epidemics and the transmission of malignant qi. Taking this medicine is like pouring hot soup on snow (indicating extremely rapid efficacy).
Cangzhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma; select tough rhizomes, processed by frying and scraping off the skin), Ganjiang (Dried Ginger Rhizome; processed by frying), Gancao (Licorice Root; honey-fried, each 6 liang), Houpo (Magnolia Bark; peeled, processed with ginger juice), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix).
The above herbs are cut into small pieces. For each dose, take 4 qian, add 2 zhong of water, decoct until 1 zhong remains, remove the dregs, and take it while hot. It can be taken at any time. Shortly after taking it, consume a soup or porridge made with fresh ginger and scallions to assist sweating. Avoid wind, sit or lie down quietly, and recovery will occur when the body is slightly moist with sweat. If the epidemic qi is actively transmitting, taking one dose in the early morning is best. For regular preventive use, take 2 qian each time, add 1 zhan of water, decoct until 8 fen remains, and take.
Treats Jie Xiong (Chest Binding syndrome), characterized by severe pain in the epigastrium causing extreme suffering.
Jiegeng (Platycodon Root; stir-fried), Zhike (Bitter Orange Fruit; bran-stir-fried), Gancao (Licorice Root; honey-fried, equal parts).
The above herbs are cut into small pieces. For each dose, take 5 qian, add 1.5 zhan of water and 3 slices of fresh ginger, decoct until 7 fen remains, remove the dregs, and take. Fresh ginger may be omitted. If there is excessive phlegm, add Banxia (Pinellia Tuber) and fresh ginger; if there is heat, add Huangqin (Scutellaria Root).
Take 15 live earthworms, crush them thoroughly, add half a zhan of honey and half a bowl of cold water, and administer via gavage. If honey is unavailable, granulated sugar is also excellent.
Treats Shanghan leading to Jaundice, where the face and eyes are entirely yellow, and urine is dark red. This formula is suitable.
Yinchenhao (Artemisiae Scopariae Herba), Shanzhiren (Gardeniae Fructus), Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix), Huangbai (Phellodendri Cortex; honey-fried), Longdancao (Gentianae Radix; each 0.5 liang), Huangqin (Scutellaria Root; remove black heart), Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma; [processing method implied or missing in source]).
The above herbs are cut into small pieces. For each dose, take 5 qian, add 1.5 zhan of water, decoct until 1 zhan remains, remove the dregs, and take warm after meals in the morning and evening.

Maogen (Imperatae Rhizoma; washed and chopped), Shanzhiren (Gardeniae Fructus), Yinchenhao (Artemisiae Scopariae Herba), Digupi (Lycii Cortex; each 0.5 liang), Gancao (Licorice Root; honey-fried).
The above herbs are cut into small pieces. For each dose, take 5 qian, add 1.5 zhan of water, 3 slices of fresh ginger, and 3-7 grains of Douchi (Fermented Soybean), decoct together until 1 zhan remains, remove the dregs, and take warm well after meals in the morning and evening.
Treats Shanghan, Warm diseases, and Damp-Heat diseases. After a cold, Jaundice develops, with dark red/black urine, irritability, thirst, fever, and restlessness. This is likely due to premature sweating or purging, incorrect medication, and contraction of damp-heat pathogenic factors, resulting in whole-body jaundice. I should treat this with Yinchen Wuling San (Artemisia Decoction for Five Agents), which is very effective.
Take 1 liang of raw material Wuling San (Five-Agent Powder), add 0.5 liang of Yinchenhao (Artemisiae Scopariae Herba), 1 qian of Cheqianzi (Plantaginis Semen), 1.5 qian of Mutong (Akebiae Caulis), and 1.5 qian of Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix). If the condition is caused by alcohol consumption, add 2 qian of Qiange (Puerariae Radix). Mix these herbs evenly with the previous ingredients, divide into two doses. For each dose, add 1 bowl of water and 50 stems of Dengcao (Junci Medulla), decoct until 8 fen remains, remove the dregs, and take before meals. Re-decoct the dregs and continue taking several doses until urination becomes clear and free-flowing, indicating recovery.
