A monk from Jiangzhou suffered from dysphagia and could not eat. He told his disciples, "After I die, you may open my chest and throat to see what object is there." Upon finishing speaking, he died. The disciples followed his instructions and found an object in his chest, shaped like a fish but with two heads, covered entirely in fleshy scales. The disciple placed it in a vessel where it jumped incessantly. When various flavors were playfully added, it dissolved completely. During summer, indigo plants were often used to make indigo dye. A certain monk put indigo dye into the vessel; the creature ran around the plate for a moment and then turned into water. Thus, it is said that indigo dye is effective in treating dysphagia.
