鲍子五保，时疫，耳聋，体有热，口干，大便五日不行，人事不清。竹叶、黄芩、柴胡
、半
夏曲、甘草、枳壳、天花粉、知母煎服，而热渴更甚，大便行而泻，手挛缩不能伸，且发呃
，或又咳嗽。改以柴胡、石膏、竹茹、人参、甘草、麦冬、半夏曲、橘红、黄芩、黄连一
帖而呃止泻除，诸症悉罢而安睡矣。
仆子孙守，以中麻后咳嗽无痰，上唇浓肿，体热，大便燥，声哑。以麦门冬、知母、栝
蒌
仁、甘草、白芍药、桑白皮、地骨皮、石斛、枳壳、五味子服后，嗽减其七，乃减去栝蒌、
枳壳，以其大便已溏，加生地黄、当归、薏苡仁调理而安。
仆子得贵，春温头痛，体热，面赤，舌心焦燥。以石膏、柴胡、葛根、甘草、黄芩、知
母、
天花粉、白芍药服之，而舌不焦黑矣。进粥太早，半夜后又复发热，中脘硬痛，与大柴胡汤
一帖，汗出津津，大便行二次，腹痛不止。乃以小承气汤调下玄明粉一钱，大便又行二次，
热不退，而痛全减，旋作鼻衄。改以石膏、牡丹皮、生地黄、山栀子、甘草、升麻、黄芩
、赤芍药，一帖而热散衄止。
元素侄令政，春温后经水适止，余热不退，口中甚渴，胸胁痛而耳重，脉左弦数，右滑
大而
数。小柴胡加石膏、知母、桔梗、枳壳、葛根、栝蒌、半夏曲服下，而热渴如旧。改用柴胡
二钱，人参、甘草、天花粉、黄芩各七分，白芍药、红花、当归、牡丹皮、知母各八分，调
理而瘳。
鲍子五的保，患时行疫病，出现耳聋、身体发热、口干、大便五日未通、神志不清的症状。服用竹叶、黄芩、柴胡、半夏曲、甘草、枳壳、天花粉、知母煎成的汤剂后，热渴症状反而加重，虽然大便通了却转为腹泻，手部痉挛收缩无法伸展，并且出现呃逆（打嗝），有时又伴有咳嗽。改为使用柴胡、石膏、竹茹、人参、甘草、麦冬、半夏曲、橘红、黄芩、黄连一帖药后，呃逆停止，腹泻消除，所有症状全部消失，患者安然入睡。
我的子孙守，在麻疹后期出现咳嗽且无痰，上唇严重肿胀，身体发热，大便干燥，声音嘶哑。服用麦门冬、知母、栝蒌仁、甘草、白芍药、桑白皮、地骨皮、石斛、枳壳、五味子后，咳嗽减少了七成，于是减去栝蒌和枳壳，因为此时大便已经变稀，加入生地黄、当归、薏苡仁进行调理，病情得以安定。
我的儿子得贵，患春温病，头痛，身体发热，面色发红，舌中心焦燥。服用石膏、柴胡、葛根、甘草、黄芩、知母、天花粉、白芍药后，舌头不再焦黑。因为过早进食粥食，半夜后又再次发热，中脘部位硬痛，给予大柴胡汤一帖，出汗微微，大便排出两次，腹痛仍未停止。于是用小承气汤调服玄明粉一钱，大便又排出两次，热势不退，但疼痛完全减轻，随即出现鼻出血。改为使用石膏、牡丹皮、生地黄、山栀子、甘草、升麻、黄芩、赤芍药，一帖药后热散血止。

Bao Zi Wu Bao suffered from an epidemic disease, presenting with deafness, body heat, dry mouth, constipation for five days, and clouded consciousness. After taking a decoction of Zhuye (Lophatherum Herb), Huangqin (Scutellaria Root), Chaihu (Bupleurum Root), Banxia Qu (Prepared Pinellia), Gancao (Licorice Root), Zhike (Aurantii Fructus), Tianhuafen (Trichosanthes Root), and Zhimu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma), the heat and thirst worsened. Although bowel movement occurred, it turned into diarrhea; the hands became spasmodic and could not extend, accompanied by hiccups and occasional coughing. The prescription was changed to Chaihu (Bupleurum Root), Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum), Zhuru (Bambusa Sasa Bamboo Shavings), Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Gancao (Licorice Root), Maimendong (Ophiopogonis Tuber), Banxia Qu (Prepared Pinellia), Juhong (Exocarpium Citri Reticulatae Rubrum), Huangqin (Scutellaria Root), and Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma). After one dose, the hiccups stopped, diarrhea ceased, all symptoms resolved, and the patient slept peacefully.
My servant Sun Shou, in the post-measles stage, presented with non-productive cough, severe swelling of the upper lip, body heat, dry stool, and hoarseness. He took Maidong (Ophiopogonis Tuber), Zhimu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma), Gualou Ren (Trichosanthes Seed), Gancao (Licorice Root), Baishao Yao (Paeoniae Radix Alba), Sangbaipi (Mori Cortex), Digupi (Lycii Cortex), Shihu (Dendrobii Caulis), Zhike (Aurantii Fructus), and Wuweizi (Schisandrae Fructus). The cough decreased by seventy percent. Subsequently, Gualou (Trichosanthes Fruit) and Zhike (Aurantii Fructus) were removed because the stool had become loose, and Shengdihuang (Rehmanniae Radix Recens), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), and Yiyiren (Coicis Semen) were added for regulation, leading to recovery.
My son De Gui suffered from Spring-Warmth disease, presenting with headache, body heat, flushed face, and a scorched, dry center of the tongue. He took Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum), Chaihu (Bupleurum Root), Gegen (Puerariae Lobatae Radix), Gancao (Licorice Root), Huangqin (Scutellaria Root), Zhimu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma), Tianhuafen (Trichosanthes Root), and Baishao Yao (Paeoniae Radix Alba), after which the tongue was no longer scorched black. Because he consumed porridge too early, fever recurred at midnight, accompanied by hardness and pain in the Zhongwan (CV12) region. Da Chaihu Tang (Major Bupleurum Decoction) was administered for one dose, resulting in slight sweating and two bowel movements, but abdominal pain persisted. Xiao Chengqi Tang (Minor Order the Qi Decoction) mixed with Xuanmingfen (Mirabilite) was then given. After two more bowel movements, the heat remained, but the pain completely subsided, followed immediately by epistaxis. The prescription was changed to Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum), Mudanpi (Moutan Cortex), Shengdihuang (Rehmanniae Radix Recens), Shanzhizi (Gardeniae Fructus), Gancao (Licorice Root), Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), Huangqin (Scutellaria Root), and Chishao Yao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra). After one dose, the heat dispersed and bleeding stopped.
The nephew of Yuan Su, named Ling Zheng, suffered from Spring-Warmth disease. After his menstruation abruptly stopped, residual heat persisted, causing extreme thirst in the mouth, chest and hypochondriac pain, heavy sensation in the ears, a wiry and rapid pulse on the left, and a slippery, large, and rapid pulse on the right. Xiao Chaihu Tang (Minor Bupleurum Decoction) plus Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum), Zhimu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma), Jiegeng (Platycodon Root), Zhike (Aurantii Fructus), Gegen (Puerariae Lobatae Radix), Gualou (Trichosanthes Fruit), and Banxia Qu (Prepared Pinellia) was taken, but the heat and thirst remained unchanged. The formula was modified to Chaihu (Bupleurum Root) 2 qian, Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Gancao (Licorice Root), Tianhuafen (Trichosanthes Root), and Huangqin (Scutellaria Root) each 7 fen, Baishao Yao (Paeoniae Radix Alba), Honghua (Carthami Flos), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Mudanpi (Moutan Cortex), and Zhimu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma) each 8 fen. Regulation with this formula led to cure.
