The vertebral column consists of twenty-one segments. From the third segment where Dazhui (Great Vertebra) is located down to the coccyx, there are a total of twenty-four segments.
Hegu (also known as Tiger's Mouth): Located in the depression between the first and second metacarpal bones when the thumb and index finger are abducted. This is the pathway of the Hand-Yangming Large Intestine Meridian and serves as its Yuan-Source point. It can be manipulated by pressing for both deficiency and excess patterns.
Quchi: Located between the lateral epicondyle of the humerus. When the elbow is flexed, locate the depression between the two bones. To find this point, press against the chest with the hand. Here, the Qi of the Hand-Yangming Large Intestine Meridian deeply converges, hence named "He" (Sea).
Jiache (also known as Jiuguan): Located in the depression anterior to the angle of the mandible, below the earlobe. A hollow appears here when the mouth is opened.
Feishu: Located 1.5 cun lateral to the lower border of the spinous process of the third thoracic vertebra, posteriorly. This method originates from *Qianjin Fang*. The positioning method involves aligning with the nipple and measuring vertically with a string; alternatively, place the hand on the shoulder, take the right point with the left hand and the left point with the right hand; the tip of the middle finger indicates the acupoint. The patient should sit upright to locate the point.
Xinshu: Located 1.5 cun lateral to the lower border of the spinous process of the fifth thoracic vertebra. The patient should sit upright to locate the point.
Ganshu: Located 1.5 cun lateral to the midline of the spine at the lower border of the spinous process of the ninth thoracic vertebra. The patient should sit upright to locate the point. (Note: The original text uses "Yu" instead of "Shu", which is a typo for Ganshu).
Pishu: Located 1.5 cun lateral to the midline of the spine at the lower border of the spinous process of the eleventh thoracic vertebra. The patient should sit upright to locate the point.
Shenshu: Located 1.5 cun lateral to the midline of the spine at the lower border of the spinous process of the fourteenth thoracic vertebra, level with the umbilicus. The patient should sit upright to locate the point. (Note: The original text uses "Yu" instead of "Shu", which is a typo for Shenshu).
Gaohuangshu: Located 3 cun lateral to the midline of the spine, near the upper part of the fifth thoracic vertebra and below the fourth thoracic vertebra. To locate this point, the patient should sit upright, bend the spine, extend both arms, and rest them on the front of the knees, keeping the body straight and upright. The thumbs should be level with the knees. Support the elbows with an object to prevent shaking during localization. This point is recorded in *Tongren Shuxue Zhenjiu Tujing* and can be moxa-burned with one hundred zhuang, up to five hundred zhuang in severe cases. If the patient is too weak to sit upright, they should lie on their side, raise the upper arm, and then locate the point for moxibustion. Additionally, one of the following four points below the umbilicus should be moxa-burned: Qihai, Dantian, Guanyuan, or Zhongji. Furthermore, Zusanli should be moxa-burned to guide the fire qi inward.
Yaoshu: Located in the depression within the interspace below the spinous process of the twenty-first vertebra (lumbar region). To locate this point, the patient should lie prone with the body extended, stack hands under the forehead, relax the limbs, and then locate the point.
Baihui: Located 1.5 cun posterior to Qianding, in the center of the hair whorl on the vertex, large enough to hold a bean. It is directly aligned with the apex of both ears.
Zhongwan: Located 4 cun above the umbilicus, midway between the xiphoid process and the umbilicus. It is the Front-Mu point of the Stomach and the convergence point of the Hand-Taiyang Small Intestine Meridian, Hand-Shaoyang Sanjiao Meridian, Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian, and Ren Mai. "Shangji" refers to Zhongwan.
Dantian: Located 2 cun below the umbilicus. It is the Front-Mu point of the Sanjiao.
Guanyuan: Located 3 cun below the umbilicus. It is the Front-Mu point of the Small Intestine and the convergence point of the Three Foot-Yin Meridians and Ren Mai. "Xiaji" refers to Guanyuan.
Qihai: Located 1.5 cun below the umbilicus, in the depression. It is considered the sea of vital energy for men.
Zusanli: Located 3 cun below the knee joint, on the lateral aspect of the tibia, within the depression medial to the major tendon, between the separation of two muscles. Locate the point while lifting the foot. Pressing this point feels very heavy; if pressed firmly, the pulsation of the dorsalis pedis artery will cease.
