Purple vitiligo and white vitiligo are caused by heart fire leading to sweating, combined with bathing after drunkenness or overeating when the hair follicles and pores are open. Wind enters while fanning oneself, causing wind pathogens to invade and disrupt the skin and interstices (pores and muscle tissue). It is advisable to take Huma San (Hemp Seed Powder) or Zhuifeng Wan (Wind-Chasing Pill), and externally wash and rub with cleansing medicines.

Grind all ingredients into a fine powder. Take 3 qian per dose, taken well after meals. From after Autumn Equinox to Spring Equinox, mix with white wine for administration. Alternatively, form small pills using rice paste and swallow with plain warm water well after meals.
**Zhuifeng Wan (Wind-Chasing Pill)**
* **Polygoni multiflori Radix** (He Shou Wu)
* **Schizonepetae Spica** (Jing Jie Sui)
* **Atractylodis Rhizoma** (Cang Zhu, soaked in rice washing water and baked)
* **Sophorae flavescens Radix** (Ku Shen) (All above: 4 liang each)
Grind all ingredients into a fine powder. Take 3 jin of high-quality soap, remove the skin and seeds, place in a clay pot, and boil with water until it forms a paste. Mix with the powder to form pills the size of wu zi (wukuaizi). Take 50-60 pills per dose on an empty stomach, washed down with warm wine or tea. Strictly avoid all foods that may induce wind pathogens.
Another treatment for white vitiligo: Use rooster kidneys and Ginkgo biloba seeds, crush them thoroughly, and rub onto the affected area.
Another prescription for pityriasis versicolor (sweat spots):
* **Lotus albus flos** (Bai Lian Hua)
* **Pinelliae Rhizoma Preparatum** (Ban Xia)
Grind equal parts into powder. Form pills the size of a marble using flour paste. Rub the affected area with Lu'an tea.

Grind equal parts into a fine powder. Mix with fresh juice from ginger with skin. Dip eggplant stems into the medicine and rub onto the affected area until healed.
A miraculous formula for treating purple and white vitiligo:
* **Realgar** (Xiong Huang, 2 qian)
* **Pararealgar** (Ci Huang)
* **Sulfur** (Liu Huang)
* **Arsenicum Album** (Bai Pi)
* **Alumen** (Bai Fan) (Use transparent varieties if available, 2 qian each)
Grind all together into powder. Before each use, take a bath to induce full-body sweating. Then, mix crushed ginger with the powder, wrap in cloth, and rub the affected area for a prolonged period. Finally, rinse with hot water.
Another prescription for white vitiligo: Use Tribulus terrestris seeds. Crush raw into powder, decoct in water, and drink. Take 3 qian per dose.
