[Divine Efficacy Scallion Moxibustion Method]
1. For individuals with deficiency and frailty, presenting with lumps on the limbs, which may be painful or painless; or wind pathogen invading the meridians causing limb pain; or tendon spasms and bone pain in the four limbs.
It can also treat Liuzhu (a suppurative disease occurring deep in muscles) and swelling and pain caused by falls and bruises. The method involves finely chopping and pounding scallion heads, stir-frying them until hot, and applying them to the affected area. Replace when cool. Re-apply heat to the swollen area, and the condition will resolve. This is a method to tonify Yang Qi and dissipate stagnation.
2. For traumatic wounds from knives or axes that are broken open with unceasing bleeding and unbearable pain. Immediately pound scallion whites, stir-fry until hot, and apply to the wound. Pain and bleeding will stop immediately. Replace the scallions multiple times as they cool, and the pain will cease.
3. For urinary retention with abdominal distension and fullness; if not treated urgently, it can be fatal. Immediately use one jin (approx. 500g) of scallion whites with roots, pound them, stir-fry until hot, wrap in cloth, divide into two portions, and alternately apply heat to the area below the umbilicus. Urination will resume immediately. Adding a small amount of Moschus (Shexiang, Musk) enhances efficacy.
4. For a woman suffering from Tai Lou (threatened miscarriage with vaginal bleeding), experiencing intermittent bleeding. Use a handful of scallion whites, decoct strongly, and drink the juice.
5. For a woman suffering from Chui Ru (acute mastitis due to infant's breath or emotional stagnation) and Ru Yong (breast abscess), with unbearable swelling and pain. Pound scallions with roots, spread over the affected breast, cover with a clay pot containing fire placed atop the scallions. After steaming for a short time, sweating occurs, and recovery is immediate.
6. For Bai Hu Feng (a type of severe migratory joint pain resembling gout), characterized by wandering pain and itching. Use two bowls of strong aged vinegar (three years old) and one jin of scallion whites. Boil once, strain, wrap in cloth, and apply heat to the affected area.
7. For all types of swellings, sores, and unnamed toxic masses. Pound scallion whites together with honey into a paste, apply to the affected area, and cure immediately.
8. A person injured their thumb, causing nail splitting. Despite using traditional trauma medicine for bandaging, pain persisted. Immediately take scallion whites, roast in bran ash until hot, peel, split open, and apply the exuded mucus to the injury. Continue roasting to replace with fresh hot scallions. Change three times in total, resulting in immediate recovery. Another person who accidentally amputated a finger used this same method; bleeding stopped, pain subsided, and no ulceration occurred. An excellent prescription.
9. For hematochezia (blood in stool) due to excessive alcohol consumption, lasting ten days. Select twenty slightly large, round, solid fresh radishes, retaining about one cun (approx. 3cm) of green leaves and lower roots. Boil in well water in a porcelain vessel until thoroughly soft. Add ginger rice and light vinegar, and eat freely on an empty stomach. Bleeding stops immediately. Using silver vessels and double-boiling yields better results.
10. For initial accumulation in the abdomen (abdominal masses). Taking this formula leads to the passage of material resembling goose eggs, curing the condition. Cut radish into noodle-like strips, half a cup. Stir-fry with half a cup of cooked sesame oil until yellow. Add two cups of water, simmer until reduced to one cup. Drink warm with the radish on an empty stomach. After bowel movement, nourish with rice gruel for two to three days.
11. For hematemesis (vomiting blood) and bi Xue (epistaxis/nosebleed). Take one cup of radish juice, add a little salt, and ingest. Bleeding stops immediately. Alternatively, mix radish juice with lotus root juice for drinking, or drip into the nose, which is also effective.
12. For Ya Xuan (gingival recession with bleeding). Use one bowl of white radish, add one qian (approx. 3-5g) of salt, and rinse mouth frequently. Bleeding stops.
13. For persistent itching due to Jie Chuang (scabies). Hollow out one radish, insert sulfur powder (amount unspecified), seal the opening. Roast in ash fire until liquid forms. Remove, pound and grind. Mix with pig fat. Add a small amount of sulfur and Vermilion (Yinzhu, Cinnabar). Apply externally for effective treatment of scabies.
14. For aphonia (loss of voice). Slice three radishes. Add one piece of Gleditsia sinensis (Zaojiao, Chinese Tamarisk Pod), peeled and seeded. Decoct in one cup of water until reduced to less than half a cup. Ingest. Within three doses, voice returns.
