《谭氏殊圣》方∶初得伤寒两日间，作时壮热四梢寒。朝来还似依稀瘥，至夜犹来似火燃。求取元明粉一物，饮
中频吃便身安。忽然未得惺惺瘥，更与神丹转后看。解交饮子

上为末。每服一钱，水六分盏，薄荷三叶，同煎四分，通口服。
《婴孺》治小儿伤寒发热。服解肌汤不除，宜服此当归汤方。

上切，以水三升煮一升，去滓，下芒硝一两，再煎三两沸，三百日儿半合，二岁一合。如不利加之，取利

莽草 丹参 肉桂（各三两） 菖蒲（半斤） 蛇床子（二两） 雷丸（五十个）
上水三升煮十余沸，适寒温浴儿，避阴及目。
《婴孺》治四五岁儿伤寒。取汗汤

七宝轻青丹方

上为末粉，粟米煮糊为丸，如此○大。婴孩每一丸分三服，三、二岁每一丸分二服，四、五岁每服一丸，薄
荷、蜜、热水磨下。
钱乙论升麻葛根汤 治伤寒、温疫，风热、壮热，头痛、肢体痛，疮疹已发未发，并宜服之。
升麻 干葛（细锉） 芍药 甘草（炙，锉）
上各等分，同为粗末。每服四钱，水一盏半，煎至一盏。温服，无时。
钱乙惺惺散 治伤寒时气，风热，痰壅咳嗽及气不和。
桔梗 细辛（去叶） 人参（切，去顶，焙） 甘草（锉炒） 白茯苓（去皮） 白术 栝蒌根（各一两）
上同为细末。每服二钱，水一盏，入薄荷五叶，煎至七分。温服，不拘时。如要和气，入生姜五片同煎。
一法用防风一分、川芎二分。
张涣羌活汤方 治小儿伤寒。解利邪气。
羌活 防风 川芎 人参（去芦头。各一两） 干葛根 川升麻 犀角（末） 甘草（炙。各半两）
上件捣，罗为细末。每服一钱，水八分一盏，入生姜二片，薄荷三叶，煎至五分。去滓，放温热服。
张涣解肌汤方 治小儿伤寒。透肌散毒。

上件捣，罗为细末。每服一钱，水八分一盏，入生姜二片，薄荷三叶，煎至五分，去滓。放温热服。
张涣黑散子方 治小儿伤寒。解利邪热。

张涣前胡散方 治小儿伤寒四五日，邪热不除者。

《婴童宝鉴》治小儿伤寒。金花散方
郁金（半两，末） 马牙硝（一两半） 腻粉 朱砂（各半钱）
上件为末。每服一字，用麦门冬、熟水调下。
《良方》治小儿伤寒、风痫。小黑膏
乌头 天南星（各一枚大者，烧通赤，入小瓶内，湿纸密口令火灭，取刮之，中心存白处如皂荚大子为度，须烧数
枚，择中度者可用） 薄荷 元参（各末五钱）
上蜜和，葱白汤下豆许，频服。筋缓急加乳香同葱白煎汤。润州传医卖此药累千金。余家小儿伤风发热与
二三丸，令小睡及寤则已凉矣。
《活人书》连翘饮 治小儿一切热。
连翘 防风 甘草 山栀子仁
上件各等分，捣罗为散。每服二钱，水一中盏煎七分。
《活人书》三黄丸 治吐血、黄胆及腹中有热。
黄连（三两） 大黄（一两） 黄芩（二两）
上捣，罗为细末，炼蜜为丸如梧桐子大。每服十五丸，白汤吞下。小儿减服之。
《活人书》治小儿伤寒无汗，头疼，发热恶寒。麻黄黄芩汤
麻黄（去节，一两） 黄芩 赤芍药（各半两） 甘草（炙） 桂枝（去皮。各一分）
上捣，罗为细末。每服二钱，暖水调下，日三服。兼治天行热气，生豌豆疮不快，益烦躁昏溃，或出尚
身疼热者。
《活人书》升麻黄芩汤 治小儿伤风有汗，头疼，发热恶寒。
升麻 黄芩 葛根 芍药（各三钱） 甘草（一钱半，炙）
上锉如麻豆大。每服二钱，以水一中盏，煎至六分，去滓温服。若时行疮痘出不快，烦躁不眠者，加木香
一钱半。
《活人书》双丸 治小儿身热、头痛，食饮不消，腹胀满。或心腹疼痛，大小便不利；或下重数起未瘥，可再
服。小儿蒸候，哺食减少，气息不快，夜啼不眠，是腹肉不调，并宜用此丸下之。
巴豆（六十粒，去皮心膜，研，新布绞去油，日中晒之白如霜） 麦门冬（汤洗，去心，二两半） 甘草（一两一
分，炙） 甘遂（半两） 朱砂（一钱，研） 牡蛎（ 赤取粉，二两） 蕤核（取仁四两半，研）
上麦门冬、甘草、甘遂、牡蛎，四味为细末，入巴豆、朱砂、蕤仁，合和捣二千杵；更入少蜜，捣和极熟，
旋丸。半岁儿，服如荏子大一双。一岁儿，服如半麻子大，分为一双。二岁服如麻子大一枚，分一双。三四岁
者，服如麻子大二丸。五、六岁者，服如大麻子大二丸。七、八岁者，如小豆大二丸。十岁，微大于小豆二丸。
常以鸡鸣时服。如至日出时不下者，热粥饮服数合，投之即下，药丸皆双出也。下利甚者，浓煎冷粥饮便止。
《聚宝方》红龙散 治小儿惊风及四时伤寒，浑身壮热，唇口焦干，两目翻露，搐搦昏迷。
龙齿 铅白霜（各二钱） 朱砂（半钱） 天南星（水浸七日，逐日换水，薄切，日晒干，为末，五钱） 龙脑（少
许）
上五味为细末。每服半钱，蜜水调下，食后服。
《聚宝方》金花散 治小儿伤寒。

《三十六种》治正受伤寒。三黄散

上件为末。每服半钱，浓煎葱白薄荷汤调，连进二、三服，避风。如大 壮热，只用一钱。

上为细末。每服半钱，葱汤下，日进二服。
《惠眼观证》豆角膏 治伤寒鼻塞，贴囟。
赤豆 皂角（炙过。等分）
上为末，以葱油调贴之。
《王氏手集》羌活散 治大人、小儿四时伤寒，热病时行，疫疠，山岚瘴疟；早晚中露雾及暴中风寒，并宜服之。
不论阴阳证候，老幼虚实，服之使无变动，汗出即安。
将上述药物捣碎，筛成粗散。每次服用一钱，用水一小盏，煎至五分，滤去药渣。不分时候，根据患儿年龄大小酌情增减剂量，温服。
《圣惠方》治疗小儿伤寒退热。黑散方

将上述药物捣碎，筛成粉末。每次服用一钱，用水一小盏，加入少许生姜，煎至四分，去渣，分两次温服。根据患儿年龄大小酌情增减。
《圣惠方》治疗小儿伤寒，头部发热脚部发冷。囟门张开者难治。多躁动啼哭，不睡觉，小便短赤，四肢发热者。桔梗散方

将上述药物捣碎，筛成散剂。每次服用二钱，用水一小盏，加入少许生姜，煎至五分，去渣。不分时候，温温地服用。根据患儿年龄大小酌情增减。

知母 甘草（炙至微红，锉碎） 竹茹 杏仁（热水浸泡，去皮尖、双仁，麸炒至微黄。各一分） 麻黄（半分，去除根和节）
将上述药物捣碎，筛成粗散。每次服用一钱，用水一小盏，加入葱白二寸，香豉三七粒，少许生姜，煎至五分，去渣。不分时候，温服。根据患儿年龄大小酌情增减。
《圣惠方》治疗小儿伤寒，高热头痛，口干心烦，宜服此方。

将上述药物混合均匀，二三岁的儿童分为三次服用。
《圣惠方》治疗伤寒五日不能说话，热在胸中。宜服抵圣丸方

麻黄（半两） 干蝎（七个） 天麻 甘草（各一分，并焙干）
将上述药物制成粉末。取一钱药粉撒在一片红棉上，放入一片生姜、半个枣子，同煎至半盏，去掉棉、姜、枣，冷服。
《谭氏殊圣》方：初患伤寒两天间，时常高热四肢寒冷。早晨看起来好像稍微好转，到了晚上又像火一样燃烧。求取元明粉这一味药，在饮水中频繁服用便身体安宁。忽然没有立刻清醒痊愈，再给予神丹随后看。（解交饮子）
元明粉（一钱）
上面加上红粉散二钱，分为四次服用，用茶调服，相继吃完后，再服用下面的救生丸及真珠散。（谭氏方即无红粉散，可能是红龙散，也治疗伤寒，方见搐搦门。救生丸，方见无辜疽门中。真珠散，方见客忤门中。）

用水三升煮十余沸，温度适宜时给婴儿洗浴，避开阴暗处及眼睛。

药物慢火炒令黑色，捣罗为散。每次服用半钱至一钱，煎荆芥汤调下。
张涣前胡散方 治疗小儿伤寒四五日，邪热不除者。

《婴童宝鉴》治疗小儿伤寒。金花散方
郁金（半两，末） 马牙硝（一两半） 腻粉 朱砂（各半钱）
制成粉末。每次服用一字，用麦门冬、熟水调下。
《良方》治疗小儿伤寒、风痫。小黑膏
乌头 天南星（各一枚大者，烧通赤，入小瓶内，湿纸密口令火灭，取刮之，中心存白处如皂荚大子为度，须烧数枚，择中度者可用） 薄荷 元参（各末五钱）
蜂蜜调和，葱白汤送服豆许大小，频繁服用。筋缓急加乳香同葱白煎汤。润州传医卖此药累千金。余家小儿伤风发热与二三丸，令小睡及醒则已凉矣。
《活人书》连翘饮 治疗小儿一切热。
连翘 防风 甘草 山栀子仁
各等分，捣罗为散。每次服用二钱，水一中盏煎七分。
《活人书》三黄丸 治疗吐血、黄胆及腹中有热。
黄连（三两） 大黄（一两） 黄芩（二两）
捣碎，筛成细末，炼蜜为丸如梧桐子大。每次服用十五丸，白开水吞下。小儿减量服用。
《活人书》治疗小儿伤寒无汗，头疼，发热恶寒。麻黄黄芩汤
麻黄（去节，一两） 黄芩 赤芍药（各半两） 甘草（炙） 桂枝（去皮。各一分）
捣碎，筛成细末。每次服用二钱，暖水调下，日三服。兼治天行热气，生豌豆疮不快，益烦躁昏溃，或出尚身疼热者。
《活人书》升麻黄芩汤 治疗小儿伤风有汗，头疼，发热恶寒。
升麻 黄芩 葛根 芍药（各三钱） 甘草（一钱半，炙）
锉如麻豆大。每次服用二钱，以水一中盏，煎至六分，去渣温服。若时行疮痘出不快，烦躁不眠者，加木香一钱半。
《活人书》双丸 治疗小儿身热、头痛，食饮不消，腹胀满。或心腹疼痛，大小便不利；或下重数起未瘥，可再服。小儿蒸候，哺食减少，气息不快，夜啼不眠，是腹肉不调，并宜用此丸下之。
巴豆（六十粒，去皮心膜，研，新布绞去油，日中晒之白如霜） 麦门冬（汤洗，去心，二两半） 甘草（一两一分，炙） 甘遂（半两） 朱砂（一钱，研） 牡蛎（ 赤取粉，二两） 蕤核（取仁四两半，研）
麦门冬、甘草、甘遂、牡蛎，四味为细末，入巴豆、朱砂、蕤仁，合和捣二千杵；更入少蜜，捣和极熟，旋丸。半岁儿，服如荏子大一双。一岁儿，服如半麻子大，分为一双。二岁服如麻子大一枚，分一双。三四岁者，服如麻子大二丸。五、六岁者，服如大麻子大二丸。七、八岁者，如小豆大二丸。十岁，微大于小豆二丸。常以鸡鸣时服。如至日出时不下者，热粥饮服数合，投之即下，药丸皆双出也。下利甚者，浓煎冷粥饮便止。
《聚宝方》红龙散 治疗小儿惊风及四时伤寒，浑身高热，唇口焦干，两目翻露，抽搐昏迷。
龙齿 铅白霜（各二钱） 朱砂（半钱） 天南星（水浸七日，逐日换水，薄切，日晒干，为末，五钱） 龙脑（少许）
五味为细末。每次服用半钱，蜜水调下，食后服。
《聚宝方》金花散 治疗小儿伤寒。
肥皂角子（一百个，铫内炭灰炒裂，取黄子） 诃子皮（五个） 甘草（二寸，清油内煎黄）
三味为末。每次服用半钱，温水调下。治五岁以下。
《三十六种》治疗正受伤寒。三黄散

制成粉末。每次服用半钱，浓煎葱白薄荷汤调，连进二、三服，避风。如大高热，只用一钱。

《惠眼观证》豆角膏 治疗伤寒鼻塞，贴囟。

《王氏手集》羌活散 治疗大人、小儿四时伤寒，热病时行，疫疠，山岚瘴疟；早晚中露雾及暴中风寒，并宜服之。
不论阴阳证候，老幼虚实，服之使无变动，汗出即安。
Crush the aforementioned herbs, sift into a coarse powder. Take one qian per dose, with one small cup of water, decoct until reduced to five fen, filter out the dregs. Take at any time, adjusting the dosage according to the child's age and size, warm administration.
*Shenghui Fang* (Prescriptions from the Imperial Medical Bureau) for treating pediatric cold damage fever reduction. Black Powder Formula:
*Mahuang* (Ephedrae Herba, remove roots and nodes), *Chuan Dahuang* (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma), *Xingren* (Armeniacae Semen Amarum, remove tips, skins, and paired kernels; each 1 liang).
Stir-fry all ingredients until black, crush, and sift into a fine powder. For children aged two or three, mix half a qian with warm water to administer. Frequent administration until sweating occurs indicates recovery. For children aged four or five, take one qian per dose; if no sweat occurs, administer again.
*Shenghui Fang* for pediatric cold damage with headache and high fever. Rhinoceros Horn Powder Formula:
*Xijiao* (Rhinocerotis Cornu), *Huangqin* (Scutellariae Radix), *Chuan Dahuang* (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, sliced and lightly stir-fried), *Chi Shaoyao* (Paeoniae Radix Rubra), *Mahuang* (Ephedrae Herba, remove roots and nodes), *Gualou Rang* (Trichosanthis Pericarpium pulp; each 1 fen), *Chaihu* (Bupleuri Radix, remove sprouts; 0.5 liang), *Shigao* (Gypsum Fibrosum; 0.5 liang, finely ground).
Crush the ingredients, sift into a coarse powder. Decoct one small cup of water per dose until reduced to five fen, strain. Adjust dosage according to the child's age, administer warm.
*Shenghui Fang* for pediatric cold damage with body heat, headache, and irritability. Ephedra Powder Formula:

Crush, sift into powder. Take one qian per dose, add a little fresh ginger to one small cup of water, decoct until reduced to four fen, strain, divide into two warm doses. Adjust dosage according to the child's age.
*Shenghui Fang* for pediatric cold damage with head heat and foot cold. Open fontanelle indicates difficult recovery. Restlessness, crying, insomnia, scanty dark urine, and limb heat. Platycodon Powder Formula:
*Jiegeng* (Platycodonis Radix), *Renshen* (Ginseng Radix, remove rhizomes; each 0.5 liang), *Gegen* (Puerariae Lobatae Radix, sliced; 0.5 liang), *Fuzi* (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata, processed until cracked, remove skin and navel), *Gancao* (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried until slightly red, sliced; each 1 fen).

*Zhimu* (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma), *Gancao* (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried until slightly red, sliced), *Zhuru* (Bambusae Caulis in Taeniae), *Xingren* (Armeniacae Semen Amarum, soaked in hot water, skin and tip removed, stir-fried with bran until slightly yellow; each 1 fen), *Mahuang* (Ephedrae Herba, remove roots and nodes; 0.5 fen).
Crush, sift into a coarse powder. Take one qian per dose, add two cun of scallion white, seven to thirty-seven grains of fermented soybean (*Douchi*), and a little fresh ginger to one small cup of water, decoct until reduced to five fen, strain. Administer warm at any time, adjusting dosage according to the child's age.
*Shenghui Fang* for pediatric cold damage with high fever, headache, dry mouth, and irritability. This formula is suitable.
Fresh ginger juice (a little), Bamboo Sap (*Zhuli*; 1 he), Honey (0.5 he).
Mix evenly. Divide into three doses for children aged two or three.
*Shenghui Fang* for cold damage lasting five days with inability to speak, heat in the chest. Di Sheng Pill Formula is suitable.
*Xijiao* (Rhinocerotis Cornu), *Mahuang* (Ephedrae Herba, remove roots and nodes), *Huangqin* (Scutellariae Radix), Earth from under the stove (*Fuxia Huangtu*), Dust from beams (*Liangshang Chen*), Soot from chimney flue (*Zaotu Mo*; each 0.5 liang), *Chuan Dahuang* (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, sliced and lightly stir-fried), *Chuan Poxiao* (Natrii Sulfas; each 1 liang).
Crush, sift into powder, mix with refined honey and pound 300-200 times, form pills the size of a bullet. Take one pill at any time, grinding it in freshly drawn water. If thirsty, drink freshly drawn water; sweating should occur. If no sweat after a long time, take another pill; when sweating stops and heat recedes, speech returns. For children, adjust dosage accordingly.
*Lingyuan* for pediatric cold damage with high fever, effective for releasing the exterior. Red Cotton Powder Formula:
*Mahuang* (Ephedrae Herba; 0.5 liang), *Ganxie* (Scorpio; 7), *Tianma* (Gastrodiae Rhizoma), *Gancao* (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma; each 1 fen, dried by roasting).
Grind into powder. Place one qian of powder on a piece of red cotton, add one slice of fresh ginger and half a jujube, decoct in water until half a cup remains, remove cotton, ginger, and jujube, administer cold.
*Tan Shi Shu Sheng* Formula: In the first two days of contracting cold damage, frequent high fever with cold extremities. Morning may seem slightly better, but night brings burning heat. Obtain Yuanming Fen (Mirabilite), frequently consume in drinks for relief. If not immediately clear, try Divine Elixir later. Jie Jiao Yinzi:
*Yuanming Fen* (Natrii Sulfas; 1 qian).
Add Hongfen San (Red Powder Powder) 2 qian, divide into four doses, take with tea. After finishing, take the following Jiusheng Wan (Life-Saving Pill) and Zhenzhu San (Pearl Powder). (Tan Shi's formula lacks Hongfen San, possibly Honglong San, also treats cold damage, see Convulsion Section. Jiusheng Wan, see Innocent Abscess Section. Zhenzhu San, see Guest Disturbance Section.)
*Tan Shi Shu Sheng* Formula: Pediatric high fever with headache, cold hands and feet like ice, frequent eye dryness, sudden jumping in sleep, fear of false fright. All due to cold damage, not family spirits or ghosts. Release exterior, induce slight diarrhea to move qi, avoid disaster and suffering. Wenming San (also called Dingming San):
*Lilu* (Veratri Viridis Rhizoma; 1 liang, stir-fried dry and powdered), *Shexiang* (Moschus; 0.5 qian, ground together).
Use "one zi" amount, insufflate into nose for effect. Must first take Honglong San four doses, then Jiusheng Wan, then Zhenzhu San, then insufflate medicine into nose three to two sprays for effect. (All three formulas seen previously.)
Mao Xiansheng Pediatric Cold Damage Gastrodia Powder:
*Tianma* (Gastrodiae Rhizoma), *Jingjiesui* (Schizonepetae Spica), *Gancao* (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried; each 0.5 liang), *Mahuang* (Ephedrae Herba, remove nodes; 1 liang), *Quanxie* (Scorpio; 1 fen).
Powder. Take one qian per dose, with 0.6 cup water, three mint leaves, decoct until 0.4 cup, take orally.
*Yingru* for pediatric cold damage fever. If Jieji Tang fails, use this Danggui Tang Formula:
*Danggui* (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), *Guixin* (Cinnamomi Ramulus Cortex), *Gancao* (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried), *Huangqin* (Scutellariae Radix), *Shaoyao* (Paeoniae Radix), *Renshen* (Ginseng Radix), *Ganjiang* (Zingiberis Rhizoma; each 1 liang), *Dahuang* (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma; 3 liang).
Slice, decoct in 3 sheng water to 1 sheng, strain, add 1 liang Mangxiao (Natrii Sulfas), boil three times more. Infant of 300 days takes 0.5 he, 2-year-old takes 1 he. Increase if no diarrhea, stop when diarrhea occurs.
*Yingru* for pediatric cold damage with unceasing chills and fever, unable to take oral medicine. Bath Soup Formula:
*Mangcao* (Herba Aristolochiae), *Danshen* (Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), *Rougui* (Cinnamomi Cortex; each 3 liang), *Changpu* (Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma; 0.5 jin), *Shechuangzi* (Cnidii Fructus; 2 liang), *Leiwan* (Wormwood Fruit? Note: Leiwan usually refers to Polyporus Umbellatus or similar antiparasitic, here likely specific herb), *Leiwan* (Polyporus? Context suggests antiparasitic/antifebrile); 50 pieces.
Decoct in 3 sheng water for ten boils. Bathe child at appropriate temperature, avoid陰 areas and eyes.
*Yingru* for 4-5 year old cold damage. Sweating Soup:
*Mahuang* (Ephedrae Herba, remove nodes; 3 fen), *Shegan* (Belamcandae Rhizoma), *Gancao* (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried), *Shengma* (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), *Shaoyao* (Paeoniae Radix), *Beimu* (Fritillariae Cirrhosae Bulbus), *Shigao* (Gypsum Fibrosum, crushed; each 2 fen), *Guixin* (Cinnamomi Ramulus Cortex; 1 fen), *Xingren* (Armeniacae Semen Amarum, peeled; 20 grains).
Slice, decoct in 3 sheng water to 1.2 sheng. Strong child takes 3 he, weak takes 2 he. Let lie down to sweat, administer again after walking for 15 li.
*Yingru* for infant cold damage fever. Jieji Sweating Powder:
*Shaoyao* (Paeoniae Radix), *Huangqin* (Scutellariae Radix), *Gegen* (Puerariae Lobatae Radix; each 2 fen).
Slice, decoct in 3 sheng water to 1 sheng. Divide into four doses, infant of one year divides into three doses.
*Yingru* for infant cold damage formula:
*Gegen* (Puerariae Lobatae Radix; 4 liang), *Mahuang Ye* (Ephedrae Herba Folium), *Renshen* (Ginseng Radix; each 2 liang), *Gancao* (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried), *Guixin* (Cinnamomi Ramulus Cortex; each 1.5 liang), *Shengjiang* (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens; 2.5 liang).
Decoct in 6 sheng water with 10 jujubes to 2 sheng. Infant of 100 days takes 1 he, 200 days takes 1.5 he, increase as needed. Aim to induce sweat, apply warm powder after sweating.
*Yingru* for infant cold damage fever. Jieji Sweating Powder:
*Mahuang* (Ephedrae Herba, remove nodes; 4 liang), *Xingren* (Armeniacae Semen Amarum, stir-fried), *Guixin* (Cinnamomi Ramulus Cortex; each 1 liang), *Dahuang* (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma; 12 zhu).
Powder. Infant of 200 days, mix with milk, take four pills size of soybean, hold to induce sweat.
*Yingru* for pediatric cold damage with alternating chills and fever. Mahuang Tang Formula:
*Mahuang* (Ephedrae Herba, remove nodes), *Muli* (Concha Ostreae), *Leiwan* (Polyporus? Or Wormwood fruit? Context implies antiparasitic/fever reducer; each 10 fen), *Ganjiang* (Zingiberis Rhizoma), *Guixin* (Cinnamomi Ramulus Cortex), *Zhike* (Aurantii Fructus), *Houpo* (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex, honey-fried; each 4 fen), *Bailian* (Ibaves Radix; 4 fen, or 4 he), *Dahuang* (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma; 6 fen), *Shujiao* (Zanthoxyli Pericarpium, sweat; 1 he).
Take 1 jin lard, chop finely, mix with herbs, pound well, put in silk bag, heat slightly, massage abdomen, back, hands, feet thoroughly. If bag liquid exhausted, squeeze to induce sweat, massage, apply powder, wrap in thick clothes to sweat. Use in spring/summer, not autumn/winter.
Han Dong Wang Xiansheng *Jiabao* for infant single cold damage and cold damage with fright. Red Cotton Powder:
*Mahuang* (Ephedrae Herba, remove nodes, roast), *Quanxie* (Scorpio, stir-fried), *Gancao* (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried), *Dahuang* (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, wrapped in wet paper, processed until cooked, sliced, roasted), *Baifuzi* (Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix), *Sumu* (Sappan Lignum, stir-fried), *Tianma* (Gastrodiae Rhizoma, raw; each 1 qian).
Powder. Infant takes "one zi", 2-3 years old takes half qian, 4-5 years old takes one qian. Decoct in one measure of water or half silver cup with mian yanzhi (cotton rouge) for ten boils. If no mian yanzhi, use little cotton, wrap medicine inside, decoct until cotton turns red, remove cotton and administer.
Han Dong Wang Xiansheng *Jiabao* for infant bianzheng (developmental fever), pediatric cold damage, warm fever, macules/pustules/water pox, night crying, fright screaming, residual heat from various frights; mouth sores, dark urine. Qibao Qingqing Dan Formula:
*Luotou Qingdai* (Indigo Naturalis), *Gefen* (Puerariae Amylum), *Gouteng* (Uncariae Ramulus cum Uncis, stir-fried and powdered, weighed), *Tianzhuhuang* (Calami Tiphoides Resina); each 1 fen. *Baifuzi* (Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix; 3 zi), *Dingxiang* (Caryophylli Flos; 1 zi, stir-fried), *Shexiang* (Moschus; 1 zi, separately ground, half soap pod size acceptable), *Qianxi* (Lead-Tin Ash; 2 qian).
Powder, make pills with millet paste, size of... Infant takes one pill divided into three doses, 2-3 years old one pill divided into two, 4-5 years old one pill per dose, grind with mint, honey, hot water.
Qian Yi discusses Shengma Gegen Tang: Treats cold damage, warm plague, wind-heat, high fever, headache, limb pain, rashes erupted or not erupting, suitable for all.
*Shengma* (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), *Gange* (Puerariae Lobatae Radix, finely sliced), *Shaoyao* (Paeoniae Radix), *Gancao* (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried, sliced).
Equal parts, coarse powder. Take 4 qian per dose, 1.5 cups water, decoct to 1 cup. Warm administration, any time.
Qian Yi Xingxing San: Treats cold damage seasonal qi, wind-heat, phlegm obstruction cough, qi disharmony.
*Jiegeng* (Platycodonis Radix), *Xixin* (Asari Radix et Rhizoma, remove leaves), *Renshen* (Ginseng Radix, cut, remove top, roast), *Gancao* (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, sliced and stir-fried), *Baifuling* (Poria, remove skin), *Baizhu* (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), *Gualougen* (Trichosanthis Radix; each 1 liang).
Fine powder. Take 2 qian per dose, 1 cup water, add 5 mint leaves, decoct to 0.7 cup. Warm administration, any time. To harmonize qi, add 5 slices of fresh ginger. Alternative method: use 1 fen Fangfeng (Atractylodis Discoloris Rhizoma), 2 fen Chuanxiong (Chuanxiong Rhizoma).
Zhang Huan Qianghuo Tang Formula: Treats pediatric cold damage. Releases pathogenic qi.
*Qianghuo* (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), *Fangfeng* (Saposhnikoviae Radix), *Chuanxiong* (Chuanxiong Rhizoma), *Renshen* (Ginseng Radix, remove rhizome; each 1 liang), *Gegen* (Puerariae Lobatae Radix), *Chuan Shengma* (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), *Xijiao* (Rhinocerotis Cornu, powdered), *Gancao* (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried; each 0.5 liang).
Crush, sift into fine powder. Take 1 qian per dose, 0.8 cup water, add 2 slices fresh ginger, 3 mint leaves, decoct to 0.5 cup. Strain, administer warm.
Zhang Huan Jieji Tang Formula: Treats pediatric cold damage. Releases muscle, disperses toxicity.
*Mahuang* (Ephedrae Herba; 3 fen), *Chuanxiong* (Chuanxiong Rhizoma), *Renshen* (Ginseng Radix, remove rhizome), *Chi Shaoyao* (Paeoniae Radix Rubra), *Qianhu* (Peucedani Radix), *Duhuo* (Angelicae Pubescentis Radix; each 0.5 liang).
Crush, sift into fine powder. Take 1 qian per dose, 0.8 cup water, add 2 slices fresh ginger, 3 mint leaves, decoct to 0.5 cup, strain. Administer warm.
Zhang Huan Hei Sanzi Formula: Treats pediatric cold damage. Releases pathogenic heat.
*Chuan Dahuang* (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma; 0.5 liang), *Mahuang* (Ephedrae Herba, remove roots and nodes), *Chuan Shengma* (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), *Shaoyao* (Paeoniae Radix), *Xingren* (Armeniacae Semen Amarum, remove skin and tip), *Gancao* (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma; each 1 fen).
Slow fire stir-fry until black, crush and sift into powder. Take 0.5 to 1 qian per dose, take with decoction of Jingjie (Schizonepetae Spica).
Zhang Huan Qianhu San Formula: Treats pediatric cold damage after 4-5 days with persistent pathogenic heat.
*Qianhu* (Peucedani Radix; 1 liang), *Gancao* (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried), *Jiegeng* (Platycodonis Radix), *Banxia* (Pinelliae Rhizoma, washed seven times in hot water), *Huangqin* (Scutellariae Radix), *Chaihu* (Bupleuri Radix, remove sprouts), *Renshen* (Ginseng Radix, remove rhizome; each 0.5 liang).
Fine powder. Take 1 qian per dose, 1 cup water, add 2 slices fresh ginger, 1 jujube, decoct to 0.5 cup, strain. Warm administration.
*Yingtong Baojian* for pediatric cold damage. Jinhua San Formula:
*Yujin* (Curcumae Radix; 0.5 liang, powdered), *Mayaxiao* (Natrii Sulfas crystallized; 1.5 liang), *Nifen* (Calomelas), *Zhusha* (Cinnabar; each 0.5 qian).
Powder. Take "one zi" per dose, mix with Maidong (Ophiopogonis Radix) and boiled water.
*Liangfang* for pediatric cold damage, wind epilepsy. Xiaohei Gao (Little Black Ointment):
*Wutou* (Aconiti Radix), *Tiannanxing* (Arisaematis Rhizoma; each one large, burn until red-hot, put in small bottle, seal with wet paper to extinguish fire, scrape, keep center white part size of soap pod, must burn several, select moderate ones), *Bohe* (Menthae Haplocalycis Herba), *Yuanshen* (Scrophulariae Radix; each 5 qian powdered).
Mix with honey, take bean-sized amount with scallion white soup, frequent administration. For tendon tension/relaxation issues, add Rushiang (Olibanum) decocted with scallion white. Runzhou hereditary doctors sold this for thousands of gold. My family's child with wind-cold fever took 2-3 pills, slept briefly, woke up cool.
*Huoren Shu* Lianqiao Yin: Treats all heat in children.
*Lianqiao* (Forsythiae Fructus), *Fangfeng* (Saposhnikoviae Radix), *Gancao* (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), *Shanzhizi Ren* (Gardeniae Semen, remove seed coat).
Equal parts, crush and sift into powder. Take 2 qian per dose, 1 medium cup water, decoct to 0.7 cup.
*Huoren Shu* Sanhuang Wan: Treats hematemesis, jaundice, and abdominal heat.
*Huanglian* (Coptidis Rhizoma; 3 liang), *Dahuang* (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma; 1 liang), *Huangqin* (Scutellariae Radix; 2 liang).
Crush, sift into fine powder, refine honey into pills size of wutong seeds. Take 15 pills per dose, swallow with plain water. Reduce dose for children.
*Huoren Shu* for pediatric cold damage without sweat, headache, fever with aversion to cold. Mahuang Huangqin Tang:
*Mahuang* (Ephedrae Herba, remove nodes; 1 liang), *Huangqin* (Scutellariae Radix), *Chi Shaoyao* (Paeoniae Radix Rubra; each 0.5 liang), *Gancao* (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried), *Guizhi* (Cinnamomi Ramulus, remove bark; each 1 fen).
Crush, sift into fine powder. Take 2 qian per dose, mix with warm water, three times daily. Also treats epidemic heat qi, slow eruption of pea-like sores, increased irritability/delirium, or lingering body ache/heat after eruption.
*Huoren Shu* Shengma Huangqin Tang: Treats pediatric wind-cold with sweat, headache, fever with aversion to cold.
*Shengma* (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), *Huangqin* (Scutellariae Radix), *Gegen* (Puerariae Lobatae Radix), *Shaoyao* (Paeoniae Radix; each 3 qian), *Gancao* (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried; 1.5 qian).
Slice like hemp/mung bean sizes. Take 2 qian per dose, 1 medium cup water, decoct to 0.6 cup, strain, warm administration. If epidemic sores/pox erupt slowly with irritability/insomnia, add 1.5 qian Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix).
*Huoren Shu* Shuang Wan: Treats pediatric body heat, headache, indigestion, abdominal fullness. Or heart/abdominal pain, difficulty urinating/defecating; or tenesmus frequent without recovery, can take again. Pediatric steaming syndrome, reduced feeding, poor breath, night crying/insomnia indicates abdominal flesh disharmony, all suitable for this pill to purge.
*Badou* (Crotonis Fructus; 60 grains, remove skin/core/membrane, grind, press through new cloth to remove oil, sun-dry until white as frost), *Maidong* (Ophiopogonis Radix, washed in hot water, remove heart; 2.5 liang), *Gancao* (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried; 1.1 liang), *Gansui* (Kansui Radix; 0.5 liang), *Zhusha* (Cinnabar; 1 qian, ground), *Muli* (Concha Ostreae, red variety taken as powder; 2 liang), *Ruiren* (Pruni Armeniacae Semen kernel; 4.5 liang, ground).
Maidong, Gancao, Gansui, Muli made into fine powder, add Badou, Zhusha, Ruiren, mix and pound 2000 times; add little honey, pound thoroughly, form pills immediately. Half-year infant: take two pills size of sesame seed. One-year infant: take two pills size of half sesame seed. Two-year infant: take one pill size of sesame seed, divided into two doses. 3-4 years: take two pills size of sesame seed. 5-6 years: take two pills size of large sesame seed. 7-8 years: take two pills size of small bean. Ten years: slightly larger than small bean, two pills. Take at cockcrow. If not passed by sunrise, drink hot porridge soup to induce passage; pills will pass in pairs. If severe diarrhea, drink thick cold porridge soup to stop.
*jubao Fang* Honglong San: Treats pediatric convulsive wind and four-season cold damage, whole body high fever, dry/scorched lips/mouth, everted eyes, convulsions/coma.
*Longchi* (Dentium Draconis), *Qianbaishuang* (Basic Lead Carbonate; each 2 qian), *Zhusha* (Cinnabar; 0.5 qian), *Tiannanxing* (Arisaematis Rhizoma, soak in water 7 days, change water daily, slice thin, sun-dry, powder; 5 qian), *Longnao* (Borneolum Syntheticum, small amount).
Five ingredients fine powder. Take 0.5 qian per dose, mix with honey water, take after meals.
*jubao Fang* Jinhua San: Treats pediatric cold damage.
*Fangzhao Jiaozi* (Soap Pod; 100, stir-fry in crucible with charcoal ash until cracked, take yellow pulp), *Hezi Pi* (Terminaliae Chebulae Pericarpium; 5), *Gancao* (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma; 2 cun, fry in clear oil until yellow).
Three ingredients powder. Take 0.5 qian per dose, mix with warm water. For children under five.
*San Shi Liu Zhong* for standard cold damage. Sanhuang San:
*Mahuang* (Ephedrae Herba; 0.5 qian, remove nodes), *Dahuang* (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma; 2 qian, stir-fried), *Huangqin* (Scutellariae Radix; 1 fen), *Xijiao* (Rhinocerotis Cornu; 3 qian), *Yinchen* (Artemisiae Scopariae Herba), *Gancao* (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried; each 1 qian).
Powder. Take 0.5 qian per dose, mix with strong decoction of scallion white and mint, take 2-3 doses continuously, avoid wind. If very high fever, use only 1 qian.
*Si Shi Ba Hou* for standard cold damage. Sanhuang San:
*Mahuang* (Ephedrae Herba, do not remove nodes), *Dahuang* (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, steamed; each 1 fen), *Huangqin* (Scutellariae Radix; 0.5 fen).
Fine powder. Take 0.5 qian per dose, take with scallion soup, twice daily.
*Huiyan Guanzheng* Doujiao Gao: Treats cold damage nasal congestion, apply to fontanelle.
*Chidou* (Adzuki Bean), *Zaojiao* (Gleditsiae Sinensis Fructus, roasted; equal parts).
Powder, mix with scallion oil, apply.
*Wangshi Shouji* Qianghuo San: Treats adults and children four-season cold damage, epidemic heat diseases, pestilence, mountain miasma malaria; exposure to dew/fog morning/evening and sudden wind-cold, all suitable.
Regardless of yin/yang patterns, old/young, deficiency/excess, taking it prevents changes, peace follows sweating.
