《巢氏病源》小儿脐疮候∶脐疮由初生断脐，洗浴不即拭燥，湿气在脐中，因解脱遇风，风湿相搏，故脐疮
久不瘥也。脐疮不瘥，风气入伤经脉，则变为痫也。
《葛氏肘后》治风脐及脐疮久不瘥方。
上用干虾蟆烧为灰敷之，日三、四佳。（《千金翼》脐有汁，亦用此方，见裹脐法。）
《千金》治小儿脐中生疮方。
上用桑汁敷乳上，使儿饮之。
《千金》又方
上用 羊乳及血令饮之。
《千金》治小儿风脐，遂作恶疮，历年不瘥，汁出不止方。
上烧苍耳子粉之。

《诸病源候论》中关于小儿脐疮的论述：脐疮是因为婴儿出生时剪断脐带后，洗浴时没有立即擦干，湿气滞留于脐部，加之解开包裹时受到风邪侵袭，风湿二气相互搏结，导致脐疮长期不愈。如果脐疮久治不愈，风邪之气侵入并损伤经脉，就会转变为痫证（癫痫）。

张涣：婴儿脐疮久治不愈，风邪传入经络，转变为痫疾的，应当紧急使用金黄散方。

将上述药物再次共同研磨，成为细末。每次取少量敷于脐中，经常使用。
According to *Zhu Bing Yuan Hou Lun* (General Treatise on the Pathogenesis and Symptoms of All Diseases) regarding the condition of umbilical sores in infants: Umbilical sores occur because, after the umbilical cord is cut at birth, it is not dried immediately after bathing. Moisture remains in the umbilicus, and when the wrapping is loosened, wind pathogens invade. The combination of wind and dampness causes the umbilical sore to fail to heal for a long time. If the umbilical sore does not heal, wind qi enters and damages the meridians and collaterals, transforming into epilepsy (Xian Zheng).
*Ge Shi Zhou Hou Bei Ji Fang* (Emergency Prescriptions Kept up the Sleeve) provides a formula for treating wind umbilicus and umbilical sores that have failed to heal for a long time.
Take dry toads, burn them to ash, and apply externally. Three to four times daily is optimal. (*Qian Jin Yi Fang* notes that this formula is also used when there is exudate from the umbilicus; see the method for swaddling the umbilicus.)
*Bei Ji Qian Jin Yao Fang* (Essential Prescriptions Worth a Thousand Gold for Emergencies) provides a formula for treating sores growing in the umbilicus of infants.
Apply mulberry sap to the nipple, allowing the infant to suckle and drink it.

Allow the infant to drink goat milk and blood.

Grind dry larvae of scarab beetles (Qi Lao) into fine powder and apply externally. Healing can be expected within three or four applications.

Burn the grease from the axle of a large cart into ash and apply twice daily.
*Bei Ji Qian Jin Yao Fang* provides a formula for treating sores growing in the umbilicus of infants.
Burn the cloth straps used for steamers into ash, mix with ointment base, and apply externally.
*Zi Mi Mi Lu* (Secret Records of Mother and Child) provides a formula for treating umbilical sores in infants that fail to close.
Apply powder of Phellodendri Cortex (Huang Bo) topically.
*Tai Ping Sheng Hui Fang* (Holy惠民 Formulas of the Taiping Era) provides a formula for treating umbilical sores in infants that fail to heal for a long time.
Dry Toad (1 fen, burned to ash), Alum (Bai Fan, 1 fen, burned to ash).
Grind the above ingredients together until fine and apply to the umbilicus.

Coptidis Rhizoma (Huang Lian, powdered), Lead Carbonate (Hu Fen, half tael each).

Zhang Huan: For infants whose umbilical sores fail to heal, if wind pathogens transmit to the meridians and collaterals and transform into epilepsy, one should urgently use the Golden Yellow Powder formula.
Coptidis Rhizoma (Chuan Huang Lian, 1 fen, ground separately into powder), Lead Carbonate (Hu Fen, ground separately), Ochra (Long Gu, burned to ash and ground separately. Each 5 qian).
Grind the above ingredients together again into a fine powder. Apply a small amount to the umbilicus frequently.
