(Attached to Gan Dysentery and Dampness)
*Shenghui Fang* discusses: When infants' milk and food intake is unregulated, and cold and heat are discordant, the zang-fu organs are injured, leading to Gan Qi (Gan syndrome qi). If the Spleen and Stomach are weak, nursing and digestion fail, and the Large Intestine becomes deficient and cold, transforming into diarrhea and dysentery. Due to prolonged dysentery not stopping, both the intestines and stomach become deficient, allowing water-dampness pathogenic factors to invade. Worms move within the abdomen, eroding the lower body parts; hence it is named Gan Dysentery and Dampness.
*Ge's Zhoubou Fang* formula for infant anal dampness.
Take Apricot Kernels (Xingren), roast until yellow, crush, and apply thinly to the anus.
*Qianjin Fang* Chu Re Jie Chang Wan (Heat-Removing Colon-Tightening Pill), used to eliminate infantile heat, discharge yellow-red fluid foam and fish-brain-like mixed blood, treat anal sores and ulcers, and address worms generated during sitting.
Coptis Rhizome (Huanglian), Phellodendron Bark (Bopi), Sophora Root (Kushen), Akebia Fruit (Guijiu), Angelica Pubescens Root (Duhuo), Tangerine Peel (Jupi), Peony Root (Shaoyao), Donkey-hide Gelatin (Ejiao) (each half liang).
The above eight herbs are powdered, mixed with Indigofera tinctoria juice (Lan Zhi) and honey to form pills the size of small beans. Take five to ten pills daily. (In winter without Lan Zhi, use Lan Zi seeds mixed with spring honey to form pills).
Formula for worms in the lower part.
Musk (Shexiang), Alum (Fanshi), Croton Seed (Badou) (peeled and membrane removed), Prepared Aconite Root (Fuzi), Pearl (Zhenzhu), Realgar (Xionghuang).
Process and mix the above six herbs in equal proportions. Take a mulberry branch three cun long like an arrow, wrap two cun of the head with cotton, moisten the cotton tip with saliva, spread the medicine onto the cotton, and insert it into the anus. Replace after half a day, twice a day, yielding miraculous effects.
*Qianjin Fang* Jiang Mi Tang (Ginger-Honey Decoction) for treating dampness.
Fresh Ginger Juice (Wuhe), White Honey (Sanhe), Coptis Rhizome (Huanglian) (three liang).
Boil the above three ingredients in two sheng of water. Boil Huanglian separately until one sheng remains, remove dregs, add ginger and honey, and boil again to obtain one sheng and two he. For a five-year-old child, take four he on an empty stomach daily, twice a day.
Chao Yuanfang states that Gan Wetness disease often results from prolonged dysentery causing Spleen and Stomach deficiency. Worms move between the intestines and stomach, soaking and eroding the five zang organs, causing mental restlessness and depression. Upward erosion causes sores in the mouth, nose, and gums; downward erosion causes anal injury and ulceration, both difficult to treat. It may also be caused by prolonged dysentery, organ heat leading to lethargy, or a preference for sweet and delicious foods, all of which cause worm movement and disease.
*Qianjin Fang*: Mugwort Leaves (Ai Ye) five sheng, boiled in ten dou of water until half a sheng remains. Divide into three doses.
Another method: Boil Sanguisorba Root (Diyu) juice for bathing, three times a day.
To treat worm erosion of the lower part.
Lead Carbonate (Hufen), Realgar (Xionghuang) in equal proportions, powder them, and apply into the anus.
*Waitai Miyao* for lower part worm erosion and red, ulcerated Large Intestine:
Mercury (Shuiyin) one liang, boil in grain wash water, grind with saliva, place in a bamboo tube, and blow into the lower part.
*Meishi Jiyan Fang* for treating worm erosion.
Toad ash mixed with vinegar, applied externally, three to five times a day.
*Shenghui Fang* formula:
Dried Toad (Gan Xama) (roasted with ghee, one piece), Aucklandia Root (Muxiang), Sulfur (Liuhuang) (each half liang), Musk (She) (one fen).
Sieve into powder. For a three-year-old, mix with warm water to the measure of "yi zi", take twice a day, adjusting dosage as appropriate.
Another formula: Fraxinus Root Bark (Lian Zhu Gen Pi), Pomegranate Root Bark (Shi Liu Zhu Pi), chopped, boiled in one large cup of water until reduced to six-tenths. Warm and administer according to the child's condition, three to four times a day.
Another formula: Indigo Naturalis (Qingdai) ground, applied with Sesame Oil (Mayou), followed by patching, three to four times a day.
Dingxiang San (Clove Powder) for treating Gan Dysentery with emaciation and lower part dampness.
Clove (Dingxiang), Lead Carbonate (Hufen) (stir-fried, each one fen), Peach White Skin (Tao Bai Pi) (roasted), Phellodendron Bark (Huangbai) (roasted), Coptis Rhizome (Huanglian), Poria (Baifuling) (each half liang).
Sieve into powder, mix with rice gruel drink, take half qian, morning and evening each once, adjusted for the child.
For prolonged Gan Dysentery not resolving, physical emaciation, drowsiness and insomnia, lower part dampness, and inability to eat or drink.
Python Bile (Ranshe Dan), size of a soybean, boiled in Stem Tree Vine Juice (Mutong Zhi), ground, mixed with rice gruel drink, taken morning and evening each once. Also apply to the Five Centers (wuxin: palms, soles, and chest) and lower part.
Qian Yi's Jinhua San, treating all wet sores, tinea gan.
Phellodendron Bark (Huangbai), Coptis Rhizome (Huanglian) (each half liang), Minium (Huandan) (fire-refined, one liang), Calomel (Qingfen) (one qian), Musk (She) (one zi).
Grind fine, wash with warm water, and apply patches.
