上件药捣罗为末，炼蜜和丸，杵三五百下，丸如绿豆大。食后以熟水下一二十丸，临卧再服。
《圣惠》治眼睛无故突出一二寸者方。
上急以冷水灌注目上，数数易水，须臾，睛当自入，平复如故。
长沙医者丁时发传 治大小儿风毒瓦斯，眼睛悬出一二分，用此药服。
川芎 白芷 荆芥 薄荷 菊花 甘草（各等分）
上为细末。每服一钱或半钱，好茶调下。
《巢氏病源》小儿目盲候∶眼无障翳而不见物谓之盲。此由小儿脏内有停饮而无热，但有饮水积渍于肝也。
目是五脏之精华，肝之外候也，肝气通于目，为停饮所渍，脏气不宣和，精华不明审，故不赤痛亦无障翳而不
见物，故名青盲也。
《龙木论》治小儿青盲外障候，此眼初患时，于母胎中或受惊邪之气，致令生后五、七岁以来，便乃患眼。
其初患之时，夜卧多惊，呕吐痰涎黄汁，渐渐失明。还从一眼先患，后乃相牵俱损，致使然也。宜服牛胆丸、
犀角饮方立效。（二方并见本门。）
《婴童宝鉴》小儿雀目青盲眼歌∶
小儿饮水久停肝，翳障全无辨物难；夜里不明为雀目，青盲昼夕一般看。
《千金翼》治青盲方。
黄牛胆 钩藤（各半两） 人参 羚羊角 藿香 广香（各一两） 琥珀（少许）
上为末，炼蜜为丸如梧桐子大。每服五丸，薄荷汤化下。
《龙木论》犀角饮子方
犀角 防风 黄芩 芍药（各一两） 羚羊角 知母（各二两） 人参（一两半）
上为末。每服一钱，水一盏煎至五分，食后，去滓温服之。
《圣惠》治小儿青盲不见物。羊子肝散方
蕤仁（汤浸，去皮） 防风（去芦头） 香豉（炒黄色。各一分） 井泉石（半两，细研）
上件药捣，细罗为散。用羊子肝一片，并药同研令烂。四、五岁儿分作二服，以新汲水下。甚者不过三、
四服，随儿大小以意加减。
《圣惠》治小儿青盲及雀目菊花散方
甘菊花 寒水石（各一分） 牯牛胆 雌鸡肝（各一枚。并阴干）
上件药捣，细罗为散。取猪肝血调下半钱，不过三、五服验，兼退翳，自然见物。更量儿大小以意加减。
《圣惠》治小儿青盲不见物方。
鼠胆 鲤鱼胆（各二枚，取汁）
上件二味相和，点眼用之立效。
《圣惠》治小儿青盲脑痛方。
鲤鱼脑 鲤鱼胆（各等分）
上件药相和令匀。点 中，日三、四服，神效。
《圣惠》治小儿青盲，茫茫不见物方。
真珠（半两，研如粉） 白蜜（一合） 鲤鱼胆（一枚）
上件药相和，煎一两沸，候冷点眼中，当泪出，药歇即效。
《圣惠》又方
上用猪胆一枚，微火上煎之，良久，候冷，点如黍米大，效。
《圣惠方》治疗因眼热毒侵袭导致眼球突出的病症。黄连丸方：
黄连（去除须根）一两，犀角（锉成屑）一两，地肤子一两，决明子一两，黄芩一两，苦参一两，玄参一两，车前子一两，朴硝二两，龙胆草（去除芦头）二两。
以上药物捣碎过筛制成细末，用炼蜜调和做成药丸，杵捣三五百下，使药丸大小如绿豆。饭后用温开水送服二十至三十丸，临睡前再服用一次。
《圣惠方》治疗眼睛无故突出一二寸的方剂。
立即用冷水灌注在眼部上方，频繁更换冷水，片刻之后，眼球应当自行回缩，恢复原状。
长沙医生丁时发传授：治疗小儿风毒瓦斯导致的眼睛悬出二三分的病症，服用此药。
川芎、白芷、荆芥、薄荷、菊花、甘草（各等分）。
以上药物研为细末。每次服用一钱或半钱，用好茶调服。
《诸病源候论》小儿目盲证候：眼睛没有障翳但不能视物称为盲。这是由于小儿脏腑内有停饮且无热邪，只有饮水积聚浸渍于肝脏所致。
眼睛是五脏精华的外现，也是肝之外候，肝气通于目。因停饮浸渍，导致脏气不宣畅平和，精华不能清明审察，所以既不红肿疼痛也没有障翳但不能视物，因此称为青盲（视力丧失而眼外观正常）。
《龙木论》治疗小儿青盲外障证候：此病初起时，或在母胎中受到惊邪之气影响，致使出生后五、七岁左右便患上眼病。
初患之时，夜间睡眠多惊悸，呕吐痰涎和黄汁，逐渐失明。通常先从一只眼睛患病，随后牵连另一只眼睛共同受损，导致如此结果。适宜服用牛胆丸、犀角饮方，立见疗效。（这两个方剂均见本门。）
《婴童宝鉴》小儿雀目（夜盲症）与青盲眼歌诀：
小儿饮水久停于肝，完全没有障翳但辨别物体困难；夜里看不清称为雀目，青盲则白天黑夜都一般地看不见。
《千金翼方》治疗青盲的方剂。
黄牛胆半两，钩藤半两，人参一两，羚羊角一两，藿香一两，广香一两，琥珀少许。
以上药物研为细末，用炼蜜做成如梧桐子大小的药丸。每次服用五丸，用薄荷汤化开送服。
《龙木论》犀角饮子方：
犀角一两，防风一两，黄芩一两，芍药一两，羚羊角二两，知母二两，人参一两半。
以上药物研为细末。每次服用一钱，用水一盏煎至五分，饭后去渣温服。
《圣惠方》治疗小儿青盲不能视物。羊子肝散方：
蕤仁（热水浸泡，去皮）一分，防风（去除芦头）一分，香豉（炒至黄色）一分，井泉石半两（细研）。
以上药物捣碎，细罗过筛制成散剂。取一片羊子肝，连同药物一起研磨至烂熟。四、五岁的儿童分两次服用，用新汲取的凉水送下。病情严重的不超过三四次服用，根据儿童大小酌情加减。
《圣惠方》治疗小儿青盲及雀目的菊花散方：
甘菊花一分，寒水石一分，牯牛胆一枚，雌鸡肝一枚（均阴干）。
以上药物捣碎，细罗过筛制成散剂。取猪肝血调服半钱，不超过三到五次可见效，兼能退除障翳，自然能看见物体。更需根据儿童大小酌情加减。
《圣惠方》治疗小儿青盲不能视物的方剂。
鼠胆两个，鲤鱼胆两个（取汁液）。
以上两味混合，滴入眼中使用，立见疗效。
《圣惠方》治疗小儿青盲伴脑痛的方剂。
鲤鱼脑，鲤鱼胆（各等分）。
以上药物混合均匀。滴入眼中，每日三到四次，神效。
《圣惠方》治疗小儿青盲，茫茫然不能视物的方剂。
真珠半两（研成粉），白蜜一合，鲤鱼胆一枚。
以上药物混合，煎煮一两沸，待冷却后滴入眼中，应当流泪排出，药效过后即见效。
《圣惠方》又一方：
用猪胆一枚，在微火上煎煮，良久，待冷却后，滴入如黍米大小的量，有效。
The *Shenghui Fang* treats the condition where heat-toxin in the eyes attacks, causing the eyeballs to protrude. Formula for Huanglian Wan (Coptis Pill):
Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma) (remove roots), Xijiao (Rhinocerotis Cornu) (cut into pieces), Difuzi (Kochiae Fructus), Juemingzi (Cassiae Semen), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Kushen (Sophorae Flavescentis Radix), Yuan Shen (Scrophulariae Radix), Cheqianzi (Plantaginis Semen) (each 1 liang); Puxiao (Natrii Sulfas), Longdan (Gentianae Radix) (remove rhizome) (each 2 liang).
Crush and sieve the above ingredients into fine powder. Mix with refined honey to form pills, pounding them three or five hundred times until they are the size of mung beans. Take twenty to thirty pills after meals with warm water, and take another dose before going to bed.
The *Shenghui Fang* provides a formula for eyes that protrude one or two cun without cause.
Immediately pour cold water over the upper eyelids, frequently changing the water. Within a short time, the eyeballs should retract on their own and return to normal.
Transmitted by Ding Shifa, a physician from Changsha: Treats wind-toxin affecting infants and children, causing the eyes to protrude by one or two fen. Use this medicine orally.
Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Jingjie (Schizonepetae Herba), Bohe (Menthae Haplocalycis Herba), Juhua (Chrysanthemi Flos), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) (equal parts).
Grind the above into a fine powder. Take one qian or half a qian each time, mixed with good tea.
From *Zhubing Yuanhou Lun* (General Treatise on the Pathogenesis and Symptoms of All Diseases), the syndrome of childhood blindness: Eyes without opacity but unable to see objects are called "blind." This is caused by fluid retention within the internal organs without heat, specifically drinking water accumulating and soaking the Liver.
The eyes are the essence of the five Zang organs and the external manifestation of the Liver. Liver Qi connects to the eyes. When soaked by retained fluid, the Zang Qi fails to circulate smoothly and harmoniously, and the essence becomes unclear. Therefore, there is no redness, pain, or opacity, yet vision is lost; hence it is named Qingmang (Green Blindness).
From *Longmu Lun*, treating the syndrome of childhood Qingmang with external obstruction: This eye disease may originate from receiving shock or evil qi in the womb, manifesting as eye problems between the ages of five and seven after birth.
At the onset, the child has frequent nightmares during sleep and vomits phlegm-saliva and yellow juice, gradually losing sight. It usually starts in one eye and then spreads to affect both, causing this result. It is suitable to take Niudan Wan (Ox Gallbladder Pill) or Xijiao Yin (Rhino Horn Drink) for immediate effect. (Both formulas are found in this section.)
Song from *Yingtong Baojian*: Song for Childhood Nyctalopia (Night Blindness) and Qingmang:
Drinking water stays long in the Liver of children; without any opacity, distinguishing objects is difficult. Not seeing clearly at night is Nyctalopia; Qingmang sees poorly day and night alike.
From *Qianjin Yi Fang*, formula for treating Qingmang:
Niudan Dan (Bovis Gallus) half liang, Gouteng (Uncariae Ramulus cum Uncis) half liang, Renshen (Ginseng Radix) 1 liang, Lingyangjiao (Saigae Tataricae Cornu) 1 liang, Huoxiang (Pogostemonis Herba), Guangxiang (Agastachis Herba) (each 1 liang), Hupo (Succinum) a small amount.
Grind the above into powder. Make pills with refined honey the size of paulownia seeds. Take five pills each time, dissolved in Mint Decoction.
Formula for Xijiao Yinzi (Rhino Horn Drink) from *Longmu Lun*:
Xijiao (Rhinocerotis Cornu) 1 liang, Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix) 1 liang, Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix) 1 liang, Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix) 1 liang, Lingyangjiao (Saigae Tataricae Cornu) 2 liang, Zhimu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma) 2 liang, Renshen (Ginseng Radix) 1.5 liang.
Grind the above into powder. Take one qian each time, decoct with one cup of water until reduced to half a cup. Strain and take warm after meals.
Formula for Yanggan San (Sheep Liver Powder) from *Shenghui Fang* to treat childhood Qingmang where objects cannot be seen:
Ruiren (Pruni Armeniacae Semen) (soaked in hot water, remove skin) 1 fen, Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix) (remove rhizome) 1 fen, Xiangchi (Fermented Soybean) (stir-fry until yellow) 1 fen, Jingquanshi (Halloysitum Rubrum) half liang (finely ground).
Crush the above ingredients and sieve into a fine powder. Take one piece of sheep liver and grind it together with the medicine until mushy. For a four- or five-year-old child, divide into two doses, taken with fresh well water. For severe cases, do not exceed three or four doses; adjust according to the child's size.
Formula for Juhua San (Chrysanthemum Powder) from *Shenghui Fang* to treat childhood Qingmang and Nyctalopia:
Gan Juhua (Chrysanthemi Flos) 1 fen, Hanshuishi (Halloysitum Album) 1 fen, Guniu Dan (Bovis Gallus) 1 gallbladder, Ciji Gan (Galli Coris Hepatatum) 1 liver (both dried in shade).
Crush the above ingredients and sieve into a fine powder. Mix with pig liver blood and take half a qian. Effect should be seen within three to five doses; it also removes opacities, restoring natural vision. Adjust according to the child's size.
Formula from *Shenghui Fang* to treat childhood Qingmang where objects cannot be seen:
Shudan (Mus Gallus) two gallbladders, Liyu Dan (Cyprini Carassii Gallus) two gallbladders (extract juice).
Mix the above two ingredients and apply to the eyes for immediate effect.
Formula from *Shenghui Fang* to treat childhood Qingmang accompanied by headache:
Liyu Nao (Cyprini Carassii Cerebrum), Liyu Dan (Cyprini Carassii Gallus) (equal parts).
Mix the above ingredients evenly. Apply to the eyes three to four times a day; miraculous effect.
Formula from *Shenghui Fang* to treat childhood Qingmang with vague vision:
Zhenzhu (Margarita) half liang (ground to powder), Baimi (Mel) one he, Liyu Dan (Cyprini Carassii Gallus) one gallbladder.
Mix the above ingredients, boil once, let cool, and apply to the eyes. Tears will flow out, and the medicine will take effect.
Another formula from *Shenghui Fang*:
Take one pig gallbladder, simmer over low heat for a while, let cool, and apply drops the size of millet seeds. Effective.
