《巢氏病源》小儿风疹瘾疹候∶小儿因汗解脱衣裳，风入腠理，与血气相搏，结聚起，相连成瘾疹。风气止
在腠理浮浅，其热微，故不肿不痛，但成瘾疹瘙痒耳。
《颅囟经》治孩子胎中受风，长后或满身生疮，痱痒如疥痨，或如饥饱痒疮方。
葱白 硝 臭黄 硫黄（各等分）
上用油半两，烧令热，下少许蜡，先剥葱白三茎细切，待油热即泼葱上，细研，续下硫黄、臭黄、硝，更
研之旋涂。
《千金》治小儿风瘙瘾疹方。
蒴 防风 羊桃 石南 秦椒 升麻 苦参 茵芋 芫花 蒺藜 蛇床子 枳实（炒） 矾石（各一两）
上十三味 咀，以浆水三斗，煮取一斗，去滓，内矾，令小沸浴之。
《千金》又方
上以牛膝末酒服方寸匕，漏疮多年不瘥，捣末敷之。亦主骨疽、癫疾、瘰 绝妙。
《千金》泽兰汤 主丹及瘾疹入腹杀人方。
泽兰 芎 附子（炮，去皮脐） 茵芋 本 莽草 细辛（各十二铢）
上七味 咀，以水三升，煮取一升半，分四服，先服此汤，然后作余治。
《千金》治小儿患瘾疹入腹，体肿强而舌干方。
上以芜菁子末，酒服方寸匕，日三。
《千金》又方
上以车前子作末，粉之良。
《千金》又方
上以蚕沙二升，水二升煮，去滓，洗之良。
《千金》又方
上以盐汤洗了，以蓼子 敷之。
《千金翼》治小儿瘾疹方。
上用巴豆五七枚，去心皮，以水三升，煮取一升，以绵内汤中，拭病上，随手灭，神良。
《千金翼》治小儿风疹瘾疹方。

《外台》∶《广济》疗小儿壮热瘾疹，已服汤丸不消，宜服竹沥汤方∶
淡竹沥（一升二合） 葛根汁（五合） 牛黄（三颗，豆粒大，研）
上三味相和与儿服，一岁至五、六岁一合至三合、五合，再服以意增减之。
《子母秘录》治小儿风疹不止方。
上以白矾十二分，暖热酒投化，用马尾 酒涂之。

犀角（屑） 川升麻 麦门冬（去心） 白蒺藜（炒去刺） 甘草（炙微赤，锉。各三分）
上件药捣，粗罗为散。每服一钱，以水一小盏煎至五分，去滓放温，量儿大小分减服之。
《圣惠》治小儿风瘙瘾疹。黄 散方

上件药捣，罗为末，炼蜜和丸如绿豆大。每服以温水下七丸。量儿大小加减服之。
《圣惠》治小儿风瘙瘾疹，心膈烦闷。茵芋汤方
茵芋 防风 附子 牡蛎 莽草（各半两）
上件药细锉和丸，以水一斗，煮取六升，去滓，看冷暖洗浴，避风。
《圣惠》又方
盐（二合） 黄芦 蒴 （各三两） 柳树空中屑（二分）
上件药细锉和匀，每用三两，以水一斗，煮取五升，去滓，看冷暖洗浴，避风。
《圣惠》治小儿风瘙瘾疹，皮肤肿，宜用此方。
石南叶（二两） 川椒（半两）
上件药以水一大盏，煎至五分，去滓，入硝石、白矾末各半两，搅令匀，以绵浸涂肿处，干即更涂之。
《圣惠》又方
景天草（三两） 蓝叶（五两）
上件药捣，绞取汁涂于肿处，以热手摩之，日三、两度用之。
《圣惠》治小儿风瘙瘾疹，心中闷乱方。
上以川芒硝二两，清酒三大盏，煎至二盏放温，洗儿痒处后，燥复洗之，痒瘥乃止，避风。
《圣惠》治小儿风瘙瘾疹方。
上以虎脂摩之即愈。《婴孺》云∶无虎脂，虎肉亦佳。
《婴孺》治小儿诸风及热气，浑身瘾疹。赤膏子方
白蔹（一分） 黄连 芍药 黄柏（各二分）
上为末，以猪脂和如泥，日三上。若得病三日涂三日，五日涂五日，多亦然。
《婴孺》治小儿瘾疹浴汤方。
莽草 防风 附子 牡蛎（ 赤，各二两）
上以水五升，煮三沸，浴儿愈。量儿加水药。
《婴孺》治小儿体起风疹及肿。枳实膏方
枳实（四分，炙） 茺蔚子 防己（各五分） 升麻（六分） 竹叶（切，七合） 石膏（二两，末） 芒硝（十
二分）
上以麻油一升四合，煎四五沸，去滓，敷疮上。
张涣防风汤方 瘾疹、疮疥皆宜服之。
防风 鼠粘子 荆芥穗 人参（去芦头。各一两） 甘草（炙） 天麻（各半两）
上件药捣，罗为细末。每服一钱，水八分一盏，入生姜、薄荷各少许，煎五分，去滓温服。
张涣麝香犀角丹方 瘾疹不瘥，甚者如癞，服之神验。
天麻 白附子 白僵蚕（炒） 乌蛇肉（酒浸去皮骨，焙干。各半两） 犀角（屑，一两）
以上捣，罗为细末。次入∶朱砂（一两，细研水飞） 脑麝（各一钱。细研）
上件都拌匀，炼蜜为丸如黍米大，每服十粒，煎金银、薄荷下。
张涣二圣散方 治瘾疹、肌肉青黑。
胡粉 苦参（各一两）
每件捣，罗为细末。每服一钱，温酒调下，兼涂患处。
《婴童宝鉴》治小儿身上生小疮痒药方。
宣连 防己（各一两） 芜荑（半两） 腻粉（一分）
上件研匀，先浴疮子，拭干，生油调敷。
《吉氏家传》风疮∶治小儿身上如麻子，或如豆大，乱生多痒，是风疮也，宜此方。
乌蛇（去鳞，炙） 黄 麻黄（去节） 防风（以上各一分） 枳壳（一片，炙） 朴硝（三分） 桂心（半分）
上以水五合，煎二合，方下朴硝，一岁儿渐渐与服尽。
长沙医者王兑千金散 治小儿、大人脾肺风血妄行腠理，发为瘾疹，积久不瘥，时发心腹疼痛，浑身顽麻，手
足拘挛，或心膈痒闷，痰哕呕逆，吃食减少，头疼目晕，一发遍身，搔之随手瘾起，烦躁燥痒，万治不效者，
宜服此方。
成块赤土（一名羊肝石，取腻者细研如面，其有砂石者不可用。）
上一味，每用冷酒调下一钱，一日三服，无有不瘥，发盛烦躁者，更用后药涂之。
又敷药方
护火草（景天是大叶，有人家盆种以慎火） 生姜（和皮不洗泥土）
上等分烂研，量多少旋入盐，合研和匀涂之。如遍身患，只拣瘾疹大处涂之，应手消散，余处自没，若能
遍涂尤妙。
长沙医者刘之才传治小儿风瘙瘾疹。芒硝散方
土朱（二两） 朴硝（一两）
上为细末，每服一平钱，用生薄荷细研，次用冷水调，蜜水下，不拘时候。
《千金》灸法∶小儿、大人举体痛痒如虫齿，痒而搔之，皮便脱落作疮，灸曲池二穴，随手壮发即灸之，神良。
《巢氏病源》中关于小儿风疹瘾疹的论述：小儿因为出汗后脱去衣裳，风邪侵入腠理（皮肤纹理及汗孔），与体内的血气相互搏结，凝聚隆起，连接成片形成瘾疹。风邪停留在腠理的浅表部位，产生的热象轻微，所以不红肿也不疼痛，只是出现瘾疹并伴有瘙痒。
《颅囟经》治疗孩子胎中受风，长大后或全身生疮，痱子瘙痒如同疥癣劳损，或者像饥饿饱食后的瘙痒疮的方剂。
葱白、硝石、臭黄、硫黄（各等分）
以上药物用半两油，烧至热，加入少许蜡，先将三茎葱白细细切碎，待油热时泼在葱上，细细研磨，接着加入硫黄、臭黄、硝石，再次研磨，随即涂抹患处。
《千金方》治疗小儿风瘙瘾疹的方剂。
蒴藋、防风、羊桃、石南、秦椒、升麻、苦参、茵芋、芫花、蒺藜、蛇床子、枳实（炒）、矾石（各一两）
以上十三味药捣碎，用三斗浆水，煮取一斗，去掉药渣，放入矾石，煮沸后用来洗浴。
《千金方》又一方
以上述牛膝末，用酒送服方寸匕，对于漏疮多年不愈者，将药捣成末外敷。也主治骨疽、癫疾、瘰疬，效果绝妙。
《千金方》泽兰汤 主治丹毒及瘾疹入腹致人死亡的方剂。
泽兰、川芎、附子（炮制，去皮脐）、茵芋、本（藁本）、莽草、细辛（各十二铢）
以上七味药捣碎，用水三升，煮取一升半，分四次服用。先服用此汤，然后再进行其他治疗。
《千金方》治疗小儿患瘾疹入腹，身体肿胀僵硬且舌干涩的方剂。
以上述芜菁子末，用酒送服方寸匕，每日三次。
《千金方》又一方
以上述车前子研成末，撒粉于患处良好。
《千金方》又一方
以上述蚕沙二升，加水二升煮，去掉药渣，用来清洗患处良好。
《千金方》又一方
以上述盐汤清洗后，用蓼子粉末敷贴患处。
《千金翼方》治疗小儿瘾疹的方剂。
以上述巴豆五到七枚，去掉心皮，用水三升，煮取一升，用棉絮浸泡药汤，擦拭患处，随手消退，神效良佳。
《千金翼方》治疗小儿风疹瘾疹的方剂。
蒴藋、防风、羊桃根、石南、茵芋、茺蔚、矾石、蒺藜（各一两）
以上八味药切碎，用醋浆水一斗，煮取五升，去掉药渣，放入矾石煎至微沸，温洗患处。（《千金方》中有秦椒、苦参、蛇床、枳实、升麻共十三味。）
《千金翼方》又一方
以上述吴茱萸一升，用酒五升，煮取一升半，擦拭患处。
《外台秘要》引用《广济方》：治疗小儿高热瘾疹，已经服用汤药丸剂未消，适宜服用竹沥汤方：
淡竹沥（一升二合）、葛根汁（五合）、牛黄（三颗，如豆粒大，研细）
以上三味混合给小儿服用，一至五六岁每次服用一合至三合、五合，再次服用可根据情况增减剂量。
《子母秘录》治疗小儿风疹不止的方剂。
以上述白矾十二份，用暖热的酒化开，用马尾浸酒涂抹患处。
《子母秘录》治疗小儿风疮久不愈合的方剂。
以上述烧焦的菰蒲节研成末，敷于患处。
《太平圣惠方》治疗小儿风瘙瘾疹。麻黄散方
麻黄（去根节）、川升麻、葛根（锉碎，各一两）、射干、鸡舌香、甘草（炙，锉碎，各半两）、石膏（三分）
以上药物捣碎，粗筛为散。每服一钱，用水一小盏煎至五分，去掉药渣放温。根据患儿大小减量服用。
《太平圣惠方》治疗小儿风瘙瘾疹，壮热心躁。犀角散方
犀角（屑）、川升麻、麦门冬（去心）、白蒺藜（炒去刺）、甘草（炙微赤，锉碎，各三分）
以上药物捣碎，粗筛为散。每服一钱，用水一小盏煎至五分，去掉药渣放温，根据患儿大小减量服用。

黄芪（锉碎）、黄芩（各三分）、白鲜皮、甘草（炙微赤，锉碎，各半两）、防风（去芦头）、枳壳（麸炒微黄，各一分）
以上药物捣碎，粗筛为散。每服一钱，用水一小盏煎至五分，去掉药渣放温，根据患儿大小减量服用。
《太平圣惠方》治疗小儿风瘙瘾疹，痒痛不止。枳实丸方
枳实（三分，麸炒微黄）、甘菊花、防风（去芦头）、麻黄（去根节）、白蒺藜（微炒，去刺）、浮萍（干者，各半两）、蛇床子、天雄（炮裂，去皮脐）、漏芦、白薇（各一分）
以上药物捣碎，过筛为末，炼蜜和丸如绿豆大。每服温水送下七丸。根据患儿大小加减服用。

茵芋、防风、附子、牡蛎、莽草（各半两）
以上药物细锉混合，用水一斗，煮取六升，去掉药渣，看冷暖程度洗浴，避风。
《太平圣惠方》又一方
盐（二合）、黄芦、蒴藋（各三两）、柳树空中屑（二分）
以上药物细锉和匀，每次用三两，用水一斗，煮取五升，去掉药渣，看冷暖程度洗浴，避风。
《太平圣惠方》治疗小儿风瘙瘾疹，皮肤肿，宜用此方。
石南叶（二两）、川椒（半两）
以上药物用水一大盏，煎至五分，去掉药渣，加入硝石、白矾末各半两，搅匀，用棉絮浸涂肿处，干了再涂。
《太平圣惠方》又一方
景天草（三两）、蓝叶（五两）
以上药物捣碎，绞取汁液涂于肿处，用手温热按摩，每日三、两次使用。
《太平圣惠方》治疗小儿风瘙瘾疹，心中闷乱方。
以上述川芒硝二两，清酒三大盏，煎至二盏放温，清洗患儿瘙痒处后，干燥后再洗，痒止乃停，避风。
《太平圣惠方》治疗小儿风瘙瘾疹方。
以上述虎脂涂抹即愈。《婴孺书》说：若无虎脂，虎肉也很好。

张涣麝香犀角丹方 瘾疹不愈，严重者如癞，服用神验。
天麻、白附子、白僵蚕（炒）、乌蛇肉（酒浸去皮骨，焙干，各半两）、犀角（屑，一两）
以上捣碎，过筛为细末。其次加入：朱砂（一两，细研水飞）、脑麝（各一钱，细研）
以上全部拌匀，炼蜜为丸如黍米大，每服十粒，煎金银、薄荷汤送下。
张涣二圣散方 治瘾疹、肌肉青黑。
胡粉、苦参（各一两）
分别捣碎，过筛为细末。每服一钱，温酒调下，兼涂患处。

According to *Chao Shi Bing Yuan* (Source of Diseases by Master Chao) regarding the syndrome of pediatric wind rash and urticaria: When children sweat and remove their clothes, wind pathogen invades the couli (interstices of skin and hair follicles), battling with blood and qi. This conflict causes aggregation and elevation, connecting into patches known as urticaria. The wind pathogen remains in the shallow couli; the heat is mild, so there is no swelling or pain, only the appearance of urticaria accompanied by itching.
*Culu Jing* (Classic of the Cranium) prescribes a formula for children who contracted wind in the womb, which later manifests as widespread sores, prickly heat itching resembling scabies or tinea, or itching similar to that felt when hungry or full.
Scallion white, Natrii Sulfas (Xiaoshi, 硝石), Fossilized Wood (Chouhuang, 臭黄), Sulfur (Liuhuang, 硫黄) (equal parts).
Heat half liang of oil, add a little beeswax. Finely chop three stalks of scallion white. Pour the hot oil over the chopped scallions, grind finely, then add sulfur, fossilized wood, and natrium sulfate. Grind again and apply immediately.
*Qianjin Fang* (Essential Prescriptions Worth a Thousand Gold) formula for pediatric wind itch and urticaria.
Dioscorea hypoglauca (Shuolu, 蒴藋), Saposhnikovia root (Fangfeng, 防风), Yangtao (Yangtao, 羊桃), Pyracantha root (Shinan, 石南), Zanthoxylum bungeanum (Qinjiao, 秦椒 - note: text says Qin Jiao but context implies Zanthoxylum or similar pungent herb, keeping literal translation), Cimicifuga rhizome (Shengma, 升麻), Sophora flavescens root (Kushen, 苦参), Actaea foetida (Yinyu, 茵芋), Genkwa flower (Yuanhua, 芫花), Tribulus fruit (Jili, 蒺藜), Cnidium fruit (Shechuangzi, 蛇床子), Immature bitter orange (Zhishi, 枳实, stir-fried), Alum (Fanshi, 矾石) (each 1 liang).
Grind the above thirteen ingredients. Boil in three dou of sour rice water until reduced to one dou. Strain, add alum, bring to a slight boil, and use for bathing.
Another formula from *Qianjin Fang*:
Take Achyranthes bidentata powder, take one cun bi (measure) with wine. For chronic fistulas not healing for years, apply the powder topically. It also excellently treats bone abscesses, epilepsy, and scrofula.
*Qianjin Fang* Zelans Decoction: Mainly treats erysipelas and urticaria entering the abdomen causing death.
Lycopus lucidus (Zelan, 泽兰), Ligusticum chuanxiong (Chuanxiong, 川芎), Aconitum carmichaelii (Fuzi, 附子, processed, peel and umbilicus removed), Actaea foetida (Yinyu, 茵芋), Ligusticum jeholense (Ben, 本 - likely Bencao refers to Ligusticum), Polygonum arthrax (Mangcao, 莽草), Asarum (Xixin, 细辛) (each 12 zhu).
Grind the seven ingredients. Boil in three sheng of water until reduced to one and a half sheng. Divide into four doses. Take this decoction first, then proceed with other treatments.
*Qianjin Fang* formula for pediatric urticaria entering the abdomen, causing body swelling, stiffness, and dry tongue.
Take turnip seed powder, take one cun bi with wine, three times daily.
Another formula from *Qianjin Fang*:
Take Plantago asiatica seed powder, sprinkle it on the affected area; this is effective.
Another formula from *Qianjin Fang*:
Boil two sheng of silkworm frass (Can Sha, 蚕沙) in two sheng of water, strain, and wash the affected area; this is effective.
Another formula from *Qianjin Fang*:
Wash with salt water, then apply Polygonum orientale seeds (Liaozi, 蓼子) powder.
*Qianjin Yi Fang* (Supplement to Essential Prescriptions) formula for pediatric urticaria.
Take five to seven Croton tiglium seeds (Badou, 巴豆), remove heart and skin. Boil in three sheng of water until reduced to one sheng. Soak cotton in the decoction and wipe the affected area; the rash disappears instantly. This is miraculous.
*Qianjin Yi Fang* formula for pediatric wind rash and urticaria.
Dioscorea hypoglauca (Shuolu, 蒴藋), Saposhnikovia root (Fangfeng, 防风), Yangtao root (Yangtao Gen, 羊桃根), Pyracantha root (Shinan, 石南), Actaea foetida (Yinyu, 茵芋), Leonurus japonicus (Chongwei, 茺蔚), Alum (Fanshi, 矾石), Tribulus fruit (Jili, 蒺藜) (each 1 liang).
Cut the eight ingredients. Boil in one dou of vinegar-rice water until reduced to five sheng. Strain, add alum, boil slightly, and use warm for bathing. (*Qianjin Fang* includes Qin Jiao, Kushen, Shechuang, Zhishi, Shengma for a total of thirteen ingredients.)
Another formula from *Qianjin Yi Fang*:
Take one sheng of Evodia rutaecarpa (Wuzhuyu, 吴茱萸), boil in five sheng of wine until reduced to one and a half sheng. Wipe on the affected area.
*Waitai Mi Yao* (Secret Essentials of the Outer Cabinet) citing *Guangji Fang*: Treats pediatric high fever and urticaria where decoctions and pills have failed. Suitable to take Bamboo Juice Decoction:
Light bamboo sap (Dan Zhuli, 淡竹沥, 1 sheng 2 he), Pueraria lobata juice (Gegen Zhi, 葛根汁, 5 he), Calculus Bovis (Niuhuang, 牛黄, 3 beans-sized pieces, ground).
Mix the three ingredients and administer to the child. For ages one to five or six, give one he to three he or five he per dose. Adjust dosage based on condition.
*Zimu Milu* (Secret Records of Mother and Child) formula for persistent pediatric wind rash.
Take twelve parts of Alum (Baifan, 白矾), dissolve in warm wine. Apply using horsehair dipped in wine.
*Zimu Milu* formula for chronic pediatric wind sores not healing.
Burn Calamus rhizome and cattail stem tips (Gupujie, 菰蒲节) to ash, apply powder to the sore.

Ephedrae Herba (Mahuang, 麻黄, remove roots and joints), Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Chuan Shengma, 川升麻), Puerariae Radix (Gegen, 葛根, cut, each 1 liang), Belamcanda chinensis (Shéyè, 射干), Clove (Jishixiang, 鸡舌香), Glycyrrhiza uralensis (Gancao, 甘草, roasted, cut, each half liang), Gypsum Fibrosum (Shigao, 石膏, 3 fen).
Pound the ingredients, sieve coarsely into powder. Take one qian, boil in a small cup of water until reduced to half a cup. Strain, let cool to warm. Adjust dose according to child's age.

Immature bitter orange (Zhishi, 枳实, 3 fen, bran-roasted light yellow), Chrysanthemum morifolium (Ganjuhua, 甘菊花), Saposhnikovia root (Fangfeng, 防风, remove radicle), Ephedrae Herba (Mahuang, 麻黄, remove roots and joints), Tribulus terrestris (Baijili, 白蒺藜, lightly stir-fry remove spines), Urtica dioica (Fuping, 浮萍, dried, each half liang), Cnidium fruit (Shechuangzi, 蛇床子), Aconitum lateralare (Tianxiong, 天雄, cracked by processing, peel and umbilicus removed), Rhapontic Rhizome (Loulu, 漏芦), Cynanchum atratum (Baiwei, 白薇, each 1 fen).
Pound the ingredients, sieve into fine powder. Mix with refined honey to make pills the size of mung beans. Take seven pills with warm water. Adjust dose according to child's age.
*Tai Ping Sheng Hui Fang* Yin Yu Tang: For pediatric wind itch and urticaria with chest oppression and irritability.
Actaea foetida (Yinyu, 茵芋), Saposhnikovia root (Fangfeng, 防风), Aconitum carmichaelii (Fuzi, 附子), Ostrea concha (Muli, 牡蛎), Polygonum arthrax (Mangcao, 莽草) (each half liang).
Finely cut and mix. Boil in one dou of water until reduced to six sheng. Strain. Bathe at appropriate temperature, avoid wind.
*Tai Ping Sheng Hui Fang* another formula:
Salt (Erhe, 二合), Phragmites communis (Huanglu, 黄芦), Dioscorea hypoglauca (Shuolu, 蒴藋) (each 3 liang), Willow catkin dust (Liushu Kongzhong Xie, 柳树空中屑, 2 fen).
Finely cut and mix evenly. Use three liang each time. Boil in one dou of water until reduced to five sheng. Strain. Bathe at appropriate temperature, avoid wind.
*Tai Ping Sheng Hui Fang* formula for pediatric wind itch and urticaria with skin swelling:
Pyracantha leaf (Shinan Ye, 石南叶, 2 liang), Sichuan pepper (Chuanjiao, 川椒, half liang).
Boil in one large cup of water until reduced to half a cup. Strain. Add Natrii Nitras (Xiaoshi, 硝石) and Alum (Baifan, 白矾) powder, each half liang. Stir well. Soak cotton in the solution and apply to swollen areas. Reapply when dry.
*Tai Ping Sheng Hui Fang* another formula:
Sedum aizoon (Jingtian Cao, 景天草, 3 liang), Isatis leaf (Lanye, 蓝叶, 5 liang).
Pound the ingredients, squeeze out juice. Apply to swollen areas. Massage with warm hands. Use two to three times daily.
*Tai Ping Sheng Hui Fang* formula for pediatric wind itch and urticaria with mental confusion:
Take two liang of Magnsii Sulfas (Chuan Mangxiao, 川芒硝), three large cups of clear wine. Boil until reduced to two cups. Let cool to warm. Wash the itchy areas of the child. After drying, wash again. Stop when itching ceases. Avoid wind.
*Tai Ping Sheng Hui Fang* formula for pediatric wind itch and urticaria:
Apply tiger fat (Huzhi, 虎脂); it heals immediately. *Yingru Shu* states: If tiger fat is unavailable, tiger meat is also good.
*Yingru Shu* formula for pediatric wind and heat pathogens causing whole-body urticaria: Chigao Zi.
Pseudostellaria heterophylla (Bailian, 白蔹, 1 fen), Coptis chinensis (Huanglian, 黄连), Paeonia lactiflora (Shaoyao, 芍药), Phellodendron amurense (Huangbai, 黄柏) (each 2 fen).
Grind into powder. Mix with pig lard to form a paste. Apply three times daily. If sick for three days, apply for three days; if five days, apply for five days; similarly for longer durations.
*Yingru Shu* bath decoction for pediatric urticaria.
Polygonum arthrax (Mangcao, 莽草), Saposhnikovia root (Fangfeng, 防风), Aconitum carmichaelii (Fuzi, 附子), Ostrea concha (Muli, 牡蛎, calcined red, each 2 liang).
Boil in five sheng of water for three boils. Bathe the child until cured. Adjust water and medicine amount according to child's size.
*Yingru Shu* Zhishi膏 (Paste) for pediatric wind rash and swelling.
Immature bitter orange (Zhishi, 枳实, 4 fen, roasted), Leonurus japonicus fruit (Chongweizi, 茺蔚子), Podophyllum emodi (Fangji, 防己) (each 5 fen), Cimicifuga rhizome (Shengma, 升麻, 6 fen), Bamboo leaf (Zhuye, 竹叶, cut, 7 he), Gypsum Fibrosum (Shigao, 石膏, 2 liang, powdered), Magnsii Sulfas (Mangxiao, 芒硝, 12 fen).
Boil in one sheng four he of sesame oil for four or five boils. Strain. Apply to sores.
Zhang Huan's Fangfeng Tang: Suitable for urticaria and scabies/eczema.
Saposhnikovia root (Fangfeng, 防风), Arctium lappa (Shuniuzi, 鼠粘子), Schizonepeta spike (Jingjie Sui, 荆芥穗), Ginseng (Ren Shen, 人参, remove radicle, each 1 liang), Glycyrrhiza uralensis (Gancao, 甘草, roasted), Gastrodia elata (Tianma, 天麻) (each half liang).
Pound the ingredients, sieve into fine powder. Take one qian. Add eight-tenths of a cup of water, a little ginger and mint. Boil until reduced to half a cup. Strain and take warm.
Zhang Huan's Shexiang Xijiao Dan: For urticaria not healing, severe cases resembling leprosy. Miraculous effect.
Gastrodia elata (Tianma, 天麻), Typhonium giganteum (Baifuzi, 白附子), Bombyx batryticatus (Baijiangcan, 白僵蚕, stir-fried), Elaphe carinata (Wushe Rou, 乌蛇肉, soaked in wine, skin and bones removed, dried, each half liang), Rhinocerotis Cornu (Xijiao, 犀角, shaved, 1 liang).
Pound the above, sieve into fine powder. Then add: Cinnabaris (Zhusha, 朱砂, 1 liang, finely ground and washed with water), Moschus (Nao She, 脑麝, each one qian, finely ground).
Mix all thoroughly. Make pills with refined honey the size of millet seeds. Take ten pills per dose, decoct silver and mint leaves to swallow.
Zhang Huan's Ersheng San: Treats urticaria and dark/black muscle discoloration.
Lead subcarbonate (Hufen, 胡粉), Sophora flavescens root (Kushen, 苦参) (each 1 liang).
Pound separately, sieve into fine powder. Take one qian, mix with warm wine to drink, and apply to the affected area.
*Yingtong Baojian* formula for small itchy sores on children's bodies.
Coptis chinensis (Xuan Lian, 宣连), Podophyllum emodi (Fangji, 防己) (each 1 liang), Myrobalan (Wuyi, 芜荑, half liang), Calomel (Nifen, 腻粉, 1 fen).
Grind uniformly. First bathe the sores, dry them, then mix with raw oil and apply.
*Ji Shi Jia Chuan* Wind Sores: Treats children with spots like hemp seeds or beans appearing randomly and itching severely. This is wind sores. Use this formula.
Elaphe carinata (Wushe, 乌蛇, remove scales, roast), Astragali Radix (Huangqi, 黄芪), Ephedrae Herba (Mahuang, 麻黄, remove joints), Saposhnikovia root (Fangfeng, 防风) (each 1 fen above), Aurantii Fructus Immaturus (Zhike, 枳壳, one slice, roast), Natrii Sulfas (Puxiao, 朴硝, 3 fen), Cinnamon twig (Guixin, 桂心, half fen).
Boil in five he of water until reduced to two he. Then add Natrii Sulfas. Gradually administer to a one-year-old infant until finished.
Changsha physician Wang Dui's Qianjin San: Treats children and adults whose spleen and lung wind-blood wanders into the couli, causing urticaria. Long-standing cases not healing may cause periodic abdominal pain, whole-body numbness, limb spasms, chest itching/oppression, phlegm, hiccups, vomiting, decreased appetite, headache, dizziness. Once the rash spreads over the body, scratching causes immediate wheals. Irritable and dry itching, unresponsive to myriad treatments. Use this formula.
Red earth blocks (Chengkuai Chitu, 成块赤土, also called Sheep Liver Stone, select fine texture, grind like flour; discard those with sand/stones).
Take one ingredient. Each time, mix one qian with cold wine. Take three times daily. All will heal. For severe flare-ups with irritability, apply the following external paste.
External Paste Formula:
Sedum aizoon (Huhuocao, 护火草 - large leaf sedum used for fire prevention), Ginger (Shengjiang, 生姜, with skin, unwashed soil).
Equal parts, pound into pulp. Add appropriate amount of salt. Grind and mix evenly. Apply. If whole body is affected, apply only to large urticaria patches; they will dissipate instantly, others fade naturally. Applying all over is even better.
Changsha physician Liu Zhicai's inherited formula for pediatric wind itch and urticaria: Mangxiao San.
Earth Vermilion (Tuzhu, 土朱, 2 liang), Natrii Sulfas (Puxiao, 朴硝, 1 liang).
Grind into fine powder. Take one level qian. Grind fresh mint (Shengbohe, 生薄荷) finely, mix with cold water, swallow with honey water. Take at any time.
*Qianjin Fang* Moxibustion Method: Children and adults with whole-body pain and itching like insect bites. Scratching causes skin peeling and sores. Moxibustion points: Quchi (LI11) bilateral. Moxibustion applied immediately upon sensation is miraculous.
