[Qian Yi] Indigestion of food is due to cold deficiency of the Spleen and Stomach, hence the inability to digest. It should be primarily treated with Bupi Yihuang San (Spleen-Nourishing Yellow-Improving Powder). [Zhang Congzheng] Indigestion of milk and food, initially presenting with sudden cold breath and cold limbs, pale lusterless complexion, and unsettled spirit, indicates disharmony of Stomach Qi. It can be treated with strongly warming medicines, using Shijunzi Wan (Quince Seed Pill) or Yihuang San (Yellow-Improving Powder) as primary treatments. If diarrhea persists for a long time without improvement, and milk/food remains undigested, it indicates Wind-Cold in the Spleen and Stomach. First, take two doses of Yihuang San, then use Xuanfeng San (Wind-Releasing Powder) to guide/drain. The Stomach Qi should be tonified again; refer to the "Sun Xie Section" of Da Ke for application.
