巢氏云，手阳明、足太阳之脉，并入于齿，风气入其经脉，与血气相搏，齿即肿痛，
脓汁出，谓之风龋。
《千金翼》治齿龋方
上，切白马悬蹄，可孔塞之，不过三度（《圣惠方》用夜眼）
《圣惠》虾蟆散 治小儿齿痛风龋，连腮微肿。
干虾蟆（一枚） 青黛（细研） 柑子皮 细辛 白鸡粪 薰黄（以上各一分） 麝香（细研） 干姜（炮裂，锉。
各半分）
上件药捣，细罗为散，都研令匀。以薄绵裹少许，纳龋齿孔中，日一易之。
又方
白附子 本 细辛 芎 莽草（以上各一两）
上件药捣，细罗为散。以薄绵裹少许，着龋齿上。
治小儿龋齿风疼，及虫蚀疼痛方
干虾蟆（一枚，烧灰） 青黛（一分） 芦荟（半分）
上件药，同研令细，以生地黄熬作膏。涂于齿上。
治小儿风龋齿痛，及虫蚀疼痛黑烂方
青黛（细研） 鸡粪白（烧灰） 本 细辛 雄黄（细研。各一分） 麝香（少许，细研）
上件药捣，罗令细，同研令匀。旋取少许，敷于齿上。
又方 以郁李根白皮五两，锉，以水一大盏半，煎取一盏，热含冷吐之，当吐虫出。
又方 以皂荚炙，去皮子，捣末。取少许，着齿痛上，瘥。
又方 以松柏脂捏锐如锥，柱龋孔内，须臾，龋虫缘松脂出，即瘥。
又方 以鸡舌香半两，以水一中盏，煎至六分，去滓，热含冷吐。
巢元方说，手阳明经和足太阳经的经脉，都进入牙齿。风邪侵入这些经脉，与体内的血气相互搏结，导致牙齿肿痛，流出脓汁，这被称为“风龋”。
《千金翼方》治疗齿龋的方子：
取白马悬蹄（马前蹄），切碎，塞入蛀牙孔中，不超过三次即可见效。（《圣惠方》中使用夜眼草）
《圣惠方》的虾蟆散：治疗小儿因风邪引起的齿痛、风龋，伴有脸颊轻微肿胀。
药材包括：干蛤蟆一枚、青黛（细研）、柑子皮、细辛、白鸡粪、薰黄（以上各一分）、麝香（细研）、干姜（炮裂，锉碎，各半分）。
将上述药物捣碎，过细筛制成散剂，混合研磨均匀。用薄绵包裹少量药粉，塞入蛀牙孔中，每天更换一次。
另一个方子：
白附子、藁本、细辛、川芎、莽草（以上各一两）。
将上述药物捣碎，过细筛制成散剂。用薄绵包裹少量药粉，敷在蛀牙上。
治疗小儿风邪引起的龋齿疼痛，以及虫蚀疼痛的方子：
干蛤蟆一枚（烧成灰）、青黛一分、芦荟半分。
将上述药物共同研磨细腻，用生地黄熬制成膏状，涂抹在牙齿上。
治疗小儿风龋齿痛，以及虫蚀导致牙齿黑烂的方子：
青黛（细研）、鸡粪白（烧成灰）、藁本、细辛、雄黄（细研，各一分）、麝香（少许，细研）。
将上述药物捣碎，过细筛，混合研磨均匀。随时取少量药粉，敷在牙齿上。
又一个方子：
取郁李根白皮五两，锉碎，用水一大盏半煎煮，取汁一盏，趁热含漱，冷却后吐出，应当能吐出虫子。
又一个方子：
取皂荚炙烤，去皮去子，捣成粉末。取少量药末，敷在疼痛的牙齿上，病可痊愈。
Chao Yuanfang stated that the meridians of Hand-Yangming and Foot-Taiyang both enter the teeth. When wind pathogen invades these meridians and contends with blood and qi, the teeth become swollen and painful, and pus discharges; this is termed "Wind Dental Caries" (Feng Qu).
*Qianjin Yi Fang* (Supplement to the Essential Prescriptions Worth a Thousand Gold) formula for treating dental caries:
Cut the suspended hooves of a white horse, and insert them into the carious cavity. This need not be done more than three times. (*Taiping Shenghui Fang* uses *Veratrum nigrum*).
*Shenghui Fang*'s Toad Powder: Treats pediatric toothache caused by wind, wind dental caries, accompanied by slight swelling of the cheek.
Ingredients: Dried Toad (one), Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis, finely ground), Citrus reticulata peel, Xixin (Asarum), White Chicken Manure, Xunhuang (Realgar), Muxiang (Musk, finely ground), Jiangjiang (Dried Ginger, processed until cracked and cut). The first group ingredients are each one fen; the second group is half a fen each.
Pulverize the above herbs, sift through a fine sieve to make a powder, and grind thoroughly to ensure uniformity. Wrap a small amount in thin cotton, insert it into the carious cavity, and replace once daily.
Another formula:
Baifuzi (Aconitum carmichaelii lateral root prepared), Gaoben (Ligusticum chuanxiong rhizome), Xixin (Asarum), Xiongqiong (Ligusticum wallichii), Mangcao (Polygonum arystotachys). Each is one liang.
Pulverize the above herbs, sift through a fine sieve to make a powder. Wrap a small amount in thin cotton and apply it to the carious tooth.
Formula for treating pediatric wind-induced carious toothache and pain from worm erosion:
Dried Toad (one, burned to ash), Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis, one fen), Lvhui (Aloe, half a fen).
Grind the above herbs together until fine. Use fresh Rehmannia root boiled into a paste, and apply it to the teeth.
Formula for treating pediatric wind dental caries toothache and black rot from worm erosion:
Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis, finely ground), White part of Chicken Manure (burned to ash), Gaoben (Ligusticum chuanxiong rhizome), Xixin (Asarum), Xionghuang (Realgar, finely ground). Each is one fen. Muxiang (Musk, a small amount, finely ground).
Pulverize the above herbs, sift through a fine sieve, and mix thoroughly. Take a small amount as needed and apply it to the teeth.
Another formula:
Take five liang of the white bark of Prunus davidiana root, cut into pieces, and decoct in one and a half sheng of water until one sheng remains. Swish the hot liquid in the mouth and spit it out when cool; worms should be expelled.
Another formula:
Take Gleditsia sinensis pod, roast it, remove the skin and seeds, and pulverize into powder. Apply a small amount to the painful tooth; the condition will heal.
Another formula:
Shape Pinus or Sabina resin into a sharp cone shape and insert it into the carious cavity. After a short while, the carious worms will emerge along with the resin, and the condition will heal.
Another formula:
Take half a liang of Caryophylli Flos (Ji She Xiang), decoct in one zhong of water until six fen remain. Strain the dregs, swish the hot liquid in the mouth, and spit it out when cool.
