Extract the juice by crushing the root of *Hemsleya omeiensis* (Tuniuxi, 土牛膝). If pain is on the left side, drip three to four drops into the right nostril; if on the right side, drip into the left nostril. As the fluid flows into the painful area of the throat, the swelling will subside immediately.
Repeated use is effective.
If there is pain in the limbs, boil this juice in wine and drink one bowl to stop the pain. (Note: Tuniuxi is also known as Guchui Cao, 鼓捶草)
*Clam Shell* (Wenge, 文蛤), *Bombyx Batryticatus* (Jiangcan, 僵蚕), and Raw *Glycyrrhiza uralensis* (Sheng Gancao, 生甘) in equal parts.
Grind into a fine powder. Mix with flesh from frost plum (Shuangmei, 霜梅) to form pills the size of a marble. Hold in the mouth and swallow slowly; the swelling will resolve spontaneously.
*Croton Seed* (Badou, 巴豆) (peeled), lightly wrapped in cotton paper.
