常用刷牙药，沈丞相家的秘方，亲眼见到有人使用非常有效。青盐（一两，单独研磨）、杏仁（二两，去皮尖）、熟干地黄（洗净）、旌德乌头（各一两）。以上药材共同捣碎成粗末，将栝蒌去掉蒂部和顶部以及瓤，把药放入其中，用麻线扎紧，用蚯蚓粪加固密封，厚度在半寸以上，阴干后取出，去掉泥土，将药研成细末，每天刷牙时使用，或者在临睡前用唾液吞咽下去尤其妙！

Treats pediatric spleen and stomach deficiency with weak constitution, vomiting, and diarrhea. Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma), Bai Fu Ling (Poria), Gan Cao (Licorice Root, prepared by stir-frying with honey), Rou Dou Kou (Nutmeg, wrapped in flour and baked, flour removed), Bai Dou Kou (Cardamom, husk removed), Chen Pi (Citrus Peel, aromatic cardamom peel removed), Mu Xiang (Costus Root), Huo Xiang Ye (Patchouli Leaf), Suo Sha Ren (Amomum Fruit). Take one pill, dissolve in rice soup on an empty stomach before meals, take twice daily.
Shen Gong San (Miraculous Efficacy Powder) uses the same formula. Wu Bei Zi (Galla Chinensis), Bai Yao (Bai Cao Jian, decocted), Gan Jiang (Dried Ginger, processed). Equal parts of the above, grind into fine powder. For each dose, take one qian (approx. 3-5g), mix with rice drink to swallow; for adults, use cooked paste to form pills the size of millet seeds, take thirty pills per dose with rice drink.
Blackening Beard Formula
Used by Zhao Taishu, County Magistrate. Ge Fen (Mussel Shell Powder), Shao Fen (Shaoxing Powder), Hai Piao Xiao (Cuttlefish Bone), Huang Dan (Lead Tetroxide, one liang each), Ni Fen (Calomel, half qian), Xing Ren (Apricot Seed, eight pieces), Duan Shi Kuang (Calcined Stone Mineral, two liang), Ru (Milk/Resin). Grind each ingredient into powder separately and mix evenly. First wash the beard with soap pod soup, ensuring no oil remains. Adjust the amount of medicine based on the quantity of white hair. Mix the medicine with river water. If... apply a small amount of walnut meat to the beard.
Commonly used tooth-cleaning powder, from Chancellor Shen's family recipe. Personally witnessed its high efficacy. Qing Yan (Blue Salt, one liang, ground separately), Xing Ren (Apricot Seed, two liang, skin and tip removed), Shu Di Huang (Prepared Rehmannia Root, washed), Jing De Wu Tou (Jingde Aconite Root, one liang each). Grind all together into coarse powder. Remove the stem and top of Gua Lou (Trichosanthes Fruit) and its pulp, place the medicine inside, tie tightly with hemp thread, seal with earthworm feces, thickness more than half cun. Dry in shade, remove, discard soil, grind medicine into fine powder. Use to clean teeth daily, or even better, swallow with saliva before sleep.
Liu Junwang's Reversing Flow Oil Divine Formula for Blackening Beard and Hair. Da He Zi (Terminalia Chebula Fruit, sixteen pieces), wrapped in wet paper, slow-fire baked until ripe. Take the peel, grind and sieve into powder. Mix appropriately with glutinous rice clear porridge drink. Apply inside an ironing plate, use cold... two... need... silk.
Han Fang Ji (Stephania Tetrandra Saponaria), Lv Fan (Green Vitriol, one liang each), Dang Gui (Angelica Sinensis, two liang), Sang Shen Zi (Mulberry Fruit, one hundred pieces, must be large, dark purple-black). Place in a porcelain jar, soak in twelve liang of sesame oil. Seal the jar mouth tightly with several layers of paper. Steam over a rice steamer until the rice is cooked. Remove and bury underground to store for one hundred days. Excellent for dyeing beards!
