Wash the affected area with a strong decoction of eggplant roots, then apply the brain marrow of sparrows.
When dealing with thrush (oral candidiasis), take goose webbing skin, burn it to ash while preserving its medicinal properties, grind into fine powder, and apply to the lesion.
Take half an ounce of sesame oil (Sesami Oleum), boil in a black cup over low heat until bubbling, add a piece of beeswax, and continue boiling until melted. Then add a small amount of calamine (Guangfen) and simmer together with the oil and wax until thin. Slightly warm on the fire, knead soft with thin paper, and apply as a patch; pain stops immediately and it does not wash off in water. If too much powder is added during preparation, it becomes hard and clumpy; simply warm slightly on fire, pick up and apply, which is also acceptable.
Apply head scurf (Tougou) to the wound to stop pain; it will heal naturally over time due to its greasy nature, as stated by Xun's nephew.
Ding Shou, courtesy name Chaozuo, style name Huaizhong, transmitted this prescription.
Roast winter melon leaves until dry, grind into fine powder, and sprinkle/apply to the wound. Alternatively, wrapping the wound with fresh green leaves is also effective; although painful, severe cases resolve within three or two applications.
Another prescription from Huagong Shi.
Liuyi Ni refers to earthworm excrement from leek fields. Heat it on a new tile until red hot to remove "fire toxicity."
Grind into fine powder, add a little calomel (Qingfen). First wash the wound with warm vinegar, then mix with clear sesame oil for application.
Aconitum kusnezoffii root (Banliang) [Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix] (half an ounce)
White morning glory seed (Baiqianniu) [Pharbitidis Semen] (one ounce)
Chinese gall (Wubeizi) [Galla Chinensis] (four ounces, whole)
Dragon bone (Longgu) [Fossilia Ossis Mastodi et Humeri] (one fen)
Crush the first three ingredients. Stir-fry Wubeizi until scorched black. Discard the other three ingredients, keeping only the Wubeizi powder. For dry wounds, mix with sesame oil for application; for moist wounds, use the same method as another prescription.
Coptis chinensis rhizome (Huanglian) [Coptidis Rhizoma]
Shaofen (Shao Fen) [likely Calamina Preparata or similar]
Phellodendron bark (Huangbai) [Phellodendri Cortex]
Soft gypsum (Ruan Shigao) [Gypsum Fibrosum] (appropriate amount)
Equal parts of the above, ground into fine powder. Wash the wound clean with water, dry with soft silk, then mix with fresh drawn water and apply to the wound. Change every two days; very effective!
Fractures and sprains (Zheshang)
Metal wounds (Jinchuang)
Scalds and burns (Tanghuoshang)
Tetanus (Poshangfeng)
Splinters from bamboo or wood (Zhumuzhaci)
Prescription of Lü Xianmo.
Phellodendron bark (Huangbai) [Phellodendri Cortex] (one jin)
Pinellia tuber (Banxia) [Pinelliae Rhizoma] (half a jin)
Grind the above into fine powder. Use half an ounce each time, mix with fresh ginger juice to form a thin paste. Apply with a goose feather quill, cover with a paper patch. Reapply if it dries out. Fractures
Heal within five days; severe cases within a month. Su Taoguang said that the efficacy lies entirely in the ginger; when the medicine dries, frequently applying ginger juice is best.
