Apply raw sesame oil (Sesami Oleum) mixed with flour in a thick consistency to the injured area. Mixing flour with water is also acceptable. Applying persimmon latex (Kaki Fructus extract) prevents scar formation even more effectively. Mash and apply leaves of *Phyllostachys heterocycla* var. *pubescens* (Shuibozi). Select ripe black mulberries (Morus Nigra Fruit), store them in a clean bottle; over time, they naturally turn into liquid. Apply this liquid to the affected area using a chicken feather.
Even if there is pus discharge and ulceration of skin and flesh, applying it two or three times will stabilize the condition. *Duchesnea indica* (Shemei, pronounced "miao" in *Bencao*), mash and apply until healed. The tenant farmer of Qian Wenzion was burned all over his body due to negligence, resulting in widespread ulceration. A Daoist priest accidentally passed on this method, which brought immediate relief to cases of suppurating, ulcerating sores with unbearable pain. This is the formula from Marshal Li Ying.
Take ox hide glue (Niu Pi Jiao), add a small amount of hot water, and melt it into a thick consistency over fire. Chop dog hair into pieces, mix with the glue, spread it out, and cover with soft silk cloth until the scab falls off and pain ceases. The maid of Hanlin Academician Wu burned her legs and knees when a pot overturned while cooking rice at night. Unable to report it due to darkness, she found herself ulcerated by morning. This treatment cured her.
Another formula: scrape fine powder from yellow roof tiles (Huang Wa). For moist wounds, sprinkle dry powder; for dry wounds, mix with sesame oil (Sesami Oleum) and apply.
Yet another formula: burn bamboo leaves (Ruo Ye) to retain their medicinal properties (Cun Xing), and apply the ash. The leaves from the mouth of wine jars are particularly excellent ("Ruo" sounds like "ruo", now written as "ruo", referring to large arrowhead bamboo leaves used for wrapping salt).
Another formula, still preventing scars, transmitted by Sun Yingsheng.
Applying egg white (Jizi Qing) yields miraculous effects. Another formula involves burning eggshells to ash, mixing with sesame oil (Sesami Oleum), and applying.
Another formula: use any amount of *Allium macrostemon* bulbs (Xiebai), mash finely, and apply using a goose feather. It prevents scar formation.
Another formula: apply aged tea (La Cha).
Another formula, transmitted by my nephew Zhiwen. Grind dried mulberry exudate (Sang Tou) into fine powder. For dry wounds, mix with honey and apply; for wet wounds, sprinkle dry powder directly.
Another formula: Wang Zhongqi used ash from dried steamer inserts (Zeng Bi) burned to retain medicinal properties (Cun Xing) applied topically.
Another formula: Zhang Dejun stated that previously, a person from Yuhang preparing for an official post fell face-first onto a dry steamer while steaming agarwood and osmanthus incense, suffering heat injury. He took ash from old cooking cloths used in temples, burned to retain medicinal properties (Cun Xing), applied it, and the injury resolved quickly, healing within half a day. This is likely because the cooking cloth absorbed much steam vapor, and reapplying it helps expel the heat/fire toxin, similar to extracting saltiness with brine. The wisdom of physicians is indeed commendable!
Another formula: Zheng Henglao applied cold porridge paste (Leng Mian Hu); this is especially good for old ulcers.
Another formula: Use powder from white porcelain vessels. Boil in water, grind extremely finely, mix with oil, and apply for immediate effect. Alternatively, use powder from silver smelting crucibles, mix and apply.
Another formula, from Yu Xi's nephew.
Scallion white (Cong Bai) and granulated sugar (Baitang): Mix equal amounts, mash finely, and apply. Pain stops immediately, and no scars remain.
Another formula, transmitted by Judge Gao.
Sha powder (4 liang) and rendered animal fat (1 jin): Grind 1,000 times with a willow wood pestle in a clean vessel. Store in a clean porcelain container. Apply to burns/scalds for immediate pain relief and no scarring.
Another formula: For fresh burns/scalds, simply rub with vinegar lees (Cu Zao). Stop when pain ceases. Easily accessible in emergencies. Washing with sour vinegar is also excellent, preventing swelling and pain.
Another formula: Grind Hematite (Wumingyi) into fine powder, mix with Calomel (Qingfen) and sesame oil (Sesami Oleum) for application. For broken skin, sprinkle dry powder directly.
