The transmission of Monk Ruzhen from Shanfa Temple.
Take straight-stalked *Bombyx Batryticatus* (Silkworm, Bai Jiangcan), in any quantity. Stir-fry with slices of fresh ginger until the silkworm turns reddish-yellow. Remove the ginger and do not use it. Grind the silkworm into a fine powder.
For each use, take non-moth-eaten *Gleditsiae Sinensis Fructus* (Chinese Tamarind, Zao Jiao). Peel off the black skin. Dip a finger in water and rub the yellow flesh of the tamarind to extract the juice. Mix this juice with the *Bombyx Batryticatus* powder and apply to the painful area to stop pain immediately.
Mr. Sheng Gongji stated that his relative used this prescription with great efficacy.
Salt (2 liang) *Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix* (Kusnezoff Aconite Root, Cao Wu) (1 liang).
Stir-fry them together until the *Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix* turns black. Grind both into a fine powder and apply to the affected area.
This prescription also treats acute red eyes and dizziness/headache.
*Centipedae Herba* (False Centipede Herb, E Bu Shi Cao), in any quantity. Wrap in paper and bake until dry, then grind into a fine powder. First, fill the mouth with water. Then, insufflate the powder into the nose according to the side of the pain.
If one does not hold water in the mouth, there is a risk of the medicine being insufflated into the pharynx. Hui Linyun adds *Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma* (Chuanxiong, Chuan Xiong) for head and eye conditions; Shuang Di Dao Ren adds *Scorpio* (Whole Scorpion, Quan Xie) in small amounts.
Ma Minsu said that a village woman suffered severely from toothache, to which all medicines failed. Using this prescription cured her.

Thinly slice *Portulaca Oleracea* (Ma Chi Xian, referred to as "Ma Ye Yan" in text, likely a variant name or typo for Portulaca or similar herb used locally) with a knife. Insert a slice into the affected tooth gap, or bite it at the painful spot. Drain out "wind-phlegm" (pathological secretion) to stop pain. Do not swallow.
