To treat wind-dampness and apoplexy (stroke), take Shengliao Wuji San (Raw Material Five Accumulations Powder) 2 qian, Shunyuan San (Harmonizing Origin Powder) 1 qian, add 1.5 zhan of water and 5 slices of fresh ginger, decoct together until reduced to 0.8 zhan, remove the dregs, and divide into two doses. Drink in large cups, aiming for warm hands and feet or sweating to achieve recovery. This prescription originates from *Liang Fang* (Good Prescriptions); it was obtained by the Qian family, ancestors of Shen Cunzhong, and sold to the public, hence in the Wu region it is still called "Shen Family Wuji San". Famous doctors nowadays often use this medicine to regulate Qi, with excellent efficacy! It harmonizes all Qi, unblocks blood collaterals, and there is no better medicine than this. As described in *Liang Fang* (the original edition says "Pericardium", which is likely incorrect).
Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata (Wutou, 2 liang), Aconiti Radix Praeparata (Fuzi), Pinelliae Rhizoma (Tian Nan Xing) (each 1 liang; these three herbs must be processed), Aucklandiae Radix (Muxiang) (0.5 liang).
Grind the above into a coarse powder. For each dose, take 3 da qian, add 1.5 zhan of water and 7 slices of ginger, decoct until reduced to 0.8 zhan, and take slightly warm. In the year Gengxu of Shaoxi, Vice Minister Geng suffered mild apoplexy and recovered after taking this medicine. Later, my cousin Tang Zhongju contracted wind-dampness, resulting in flaccid weakness of the limbs, unable to move at all. He had been bedridden for three days, requiring three or four people to help him turn over, causing him great anxiety. I instructed him to take this medicine; after only three doses, he could walk on the ground the next day, completely recovered. If the condition is merely wind-dampness, there is no need to add Shengliao Wuji San.
Primarily treats limb spasms, deviation of the mouth and eyes, left hemiplegia and right paralysis, joint soreness and pain, weak legs and lack of strength, unsteady gait, and all kinds of wind diseases. It is also known as Shujin San (Tendon-Relaxing Powder) (original edition says "Wind-Bi of hands and feet", here corrected according to manuscript).
Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui, washed and dried), Cinnamomi Cortex (Rou Gui, bark removed), Corydalis Rhizoma (Yan Hu Suo, stir-fried in ash).
Take equal parts of the above, grind into a fine powder. For each dose, take 2 qian, mix with warm wine and swallow. Take on an empty stomach and before sleep, three times a day. Except for pregnant women, the elderly and children can all take it.
Specifically treats men and women with left hemiplegia and right paralysis, deviation of the mouth and eyes, apoplexy with locked jaw, complete inability to speak, and hemiplegia, numbness and stiffness of limbs. It treats all kinds of wind diseases.
Pinelliae Rhizoma (Tian Nan Xing, 2 liang, large ones, soaked seven times in boiling water), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gan Cao, 2 liang, processed), Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fang Feng, 4 liang, remove the root head).
Grind the above into a coarse powder. For each dose, take 2 da qian, add 2 da zhan of water, decoct until reduced to 1 zhong zhan, and take warm on an empty stomach.
