Yong Fa (Carbuncle Onset)
This disease presents with swelling, redness, and elevation. It may be long or large in size. Sometimes it appears beside a woman's breast, caused by stagnation in the Blood Palace (uterus/breast tissue), Qi obstruction, and blood stasis. If there is pus and blood inside, the condition is easy to treat; if there is white pus inside, the condition is difficult to treat.
Ju Fa (Ulcer Onset)
When this disease first appears, the area is swollen, red, and hard. Toxic heat resides in the skin, causing fever. There is pain in all joints, unremitting deficiency thirst, and even loss of consciousness. After rupture, blood flows like silkworm blood, and multiple openings discharge pus. Within seven days, urgent medication is required; if fresh blood flows, it is difficult to treat.
Ai Fa (Cancerous Ulcer Onset)
When this disease first appears, there is no chills or fever. The swollen area is painful, purple-black, and does not rupture, while the interior becomes necrotic. Those under forty years old develop it due to accumulated heat; those over forty years old develop it due to the decline of both Qi and Blood. Early treatment is necessary; only one or two out of ten can be fully recovered.
Biao Fa (Acute Abscess Onset)
When this disease first appears, the periphery grows flesh resembling an ox's lip, which is black, hard, and painful. Between twenty and forty years of age, it is caused by toxicity from accumulated injuries entering the Stomach and accumulating. Between forty and sixty years of age, it is caused by the inability of Qi and Blood to circulate smoothly, leading to stagnant heat and blood accumulation. If clear fluid is discharged, it is difficult to treat.
Gu Fa (Chronic Deep Abscess Onset)
When this disease erupts, there is high fever throughout the body, impairment of movement in the hands and feet, aversion to cold, headache, deficiency thirst, excessive sweating, vomiting and regurgitation, heavy limbs, and vexatious oppression in the Five Zang Organs. These are its symptoms. If rice-washing water-like fluid is discharged, it is difficult to treat.

Grind clean herb into paste and apply. It feels cold as ice. Disperses early-stage sores; effective for established swellings. Another method adds a little rice vinegar to grinding to make the herb break down easier. Apply leaving an opening. As the opening shrinks, replace when dry until it ruptures.
Prescription for Treating Ai (Cancerous Sores)
Usage: Take skin from live well frogs, dry in sun, roast until partially raw, grind into fine powder, and sprinkle. Or mix with honey water and apply.
Description of Ai: High on top, deep below, resembling rock caves. Nodules hang in clusters, cracking like blind eyes, with a bluish tint. Heads cluster together, each exposing a tongue-like projection. The toxic root is deeply hidden, perforating through. Men often develop it on the abdomen; women on the breasts, neck, shoulders, or arms. External symptoms cause coma. Urgent treatment involves external application of Castor bean and other medicines to drain toxic fluids. Examples include Rushxiang Gao and Shengong Miaotie San from carbuncle prescriptions. Internally, promote urination. Since all pain, itching, and sores belong to the Heart, and the Heart and Small Intestine are exterior-interior pairs, toxins should be vented via urine. However, toxins from these sores cannot be vented by Maidong or Dengxincao alone. One must use Lizheng San from the Zhai Fang, with Didan as the main ingredient, assisted by Bai Qianniu, Huashi, and Mutong, to effectively vent the toxin. This works synergistically with the Heart and Kidneys. If Water fails to control Fire, thirst arises and sores develop. When Heart and Kidney interact, and Water and Fire are balanced, what illness remains? The Heart governs Blood; clearing the Heart and moving Blood is appropriate, nourishing the Kidney so Water functions properly. When essence and qi condense, the sores naturally subside. Drinking child's urine further helps flush residual toxins. Strictly avoid wind-cold invasion. Dietary management: Rice flour and pig trotters nourish the Kidney and strengthen the Middle Jiao; pay attention to this.

Treatment for Gu (Chronic Sores)
Gu Fa occurs on hands, feet, palms, waist, legs, or buttocks/flexural areas. It is flat, swollen, elongated, without a head or face, adhering low to the muscle. Internal ulceration is large like a pit, spreading and connecting. Compared to other Fa conditions, vexation and thirst are more severe. Superficial cases are treatable; deep cases are fatal. Even if swelling subsides, a massive outbreak may occur months later, appearing flesh-colored with slight redness, which is incurable. Treatment follows carbuncle/ulcer principles: primarily cultivate internal Qi to prevent leakage. Combine with ointments to suck out toxins. Shenyi Gao and Yuxian Gao can be applied externally or taken internally.
