气而然。令人寒热淋沥。沉沉默默。不的知其所苦。而无处不恶也。或腹痛胀满。喘急不得
息。上冲心胸。旁攻两胁。或瘰块踊起。或挛引腰脊。或举身沉重。而精神不爽。每更节令。
愈加顿滞。积年累月。以至于死。死则疰易旁人。以致灭门。故名尸疰。
凡诸心腹痛。服众方热药。入腹寂然不动。但益气息急者。此尸疰病也。宜先服甘草汁
一升。消息少时。服瞿麦汤饮一升。得下便觉稍宽。并暴症坚结宿食。及气血坚痛。发作无

尸疰，是指尸气传染给人。这是五尸病中的一种，夹带着外来的鬼邪毒气，流注传染于人体。多因哭泣时感染尸气所致。使人出现寒热往来、淋漓不尽的症状，神情抑郁沉默，不知具体痛苦所在，但全身各处都感到厌恶不适。有的出现腹痛胀满，气喘急促无法呼吸，气向上冲撞心胸，向两侧胁肋攻窜；有的出现瘰疬肿块突起，或筋脉拘挛牵引腰脊；有的全身沉重，精神不清爽。每当节气更替时，病情更加停滞加重，长年累月，直至死亡。死后尸气会传染给旁人，导致全家灭门，所以称为尸疰。
凡是各种心腹疼痛，服用多种温热药物后，药入腹中寂然不动，反而使气息更加急促的，这是尸疰病。应当先服用甘草汁一升，稍作观察，再服用瞿麦汤一升。服药后若大便通下，就会觉得稍微宽舒。此法也适用于暴发性症结坚硬、宿食停滞，以及气血坚痛、发作无定时的情况。
雄朱散（出自《千金方》）：治疗因丧事惊恐忧愁悲哀烦恼，感染尸气而成。各种症状变动不居，似冷似热，风气触动则发作。
药材：雄黄、朱砂、龙齿、桔梗、羌活、当归、升麻、川乌、川芎、犀角、芍药、鬼箭羽、白僵蚕（炒）、白术、南星（炮制）、山栀子、陈皮、木香、黄芩（以上各等分）、虎颈骨（醋炙）、紫苏子（炒）、莽草、枳壳、麻黄（半两）、蜈蚣（二条酒炙）、槟榔（二分）、干蝎（炒一分）。
制法与用法：上药研为细末。每次服用二钱，用酒调服。每日三次。
案例：以前在征城时，我日常调制神精丹一批。庚申年，我家一位妇人，梦中见到两个黑奴，一个在前，一个在后，手中拿着一样东西，问：“到了吗？”她应答说“到了”，被击打一下，发出爆裂声，于是陷入魇梦。醒来后心口一点剧痛难忍，昏闷约一时许。我突然想起神精丹能治这种证候，让她服三粒。随后前往府城，过了一会儿，妇人已经无病了，忘记了她是否服药，竟然痛止神醒，现在如常了。日后相识之人，稍有邪气，给予一二服，没有不应验的。此方在《千金方》中，是治疗中风的重要药物。只是近代很难得到真正的青磁石，难以配制罢了。
大麝香丸：治疗疼痛经年累月，尸疰蛊毒，症癖气水，心及两胁下有肿块，温瘴精魅邪气，或悲或……
药材：麝香、牛黄、藜芦（炙）、朱砂、蜀当归、茯苓、桔梗、鬼箭羽、金牙、乌头（炮制）、桂心、吴茱萸、贯众、丹参（各一分）、蜈蚣（去足炙）、干姜、人参、虎骨（各三分）、鬼臼（半分）、芍药、雄黄（各一分半）、巴豆（二十枚去心皮熬制）、蜥蜴（半枚炙）。
制法与用法：上药捣碎过筛，炼蜜为丸，如梧桐子大。天明时饮服三丸，至辰时（早晨7-9点）会腹泻。如果不下利，喝热饮促使之，就会下利。泻下三两行后，喝冷醋饮停止即可安定。然后煮粥进食，不要喝冷水。第二天照前法服用，可彻底痊愈。忌食热面、生菜、柿子、梨等。被蛇蝎蜂螫伤，取一丸研破，和醋涂敷，即愈。若是精鬼狐狸之类，抛掷砖瓦，或像兵马行走，夜间发作的是鬼魅。不分早晚，每天服用前两丸，只需两三天即可痊愈。仍每天烧一丸，熏身体及衣裳，在家中焚烧也好。未患病的人，用三五丸装在绯色绢袋里，系在左臂上，可辟虎毒蛇及诸精鬼魅。忌食狸肉、生血物、各种肉类、生葱、芦笋。另一版本无鬼臼、丹参。
五香丸：治疗各种毒疰、尸气、心腹胀满、大小便不通、鬼疰心痛，痛不可忍者。
药材：牛黄（研）、犀角屑（各三分）、升麻、沉香、薰陆香、当归、桂心、青木香、麝香、雄黄（研如粉）、鬼箭羽、巴豆（去皮心熬）、诃黎勒皮、朱砂（研）、槟榔仁、干姜、吴茱萸、甘草（炙）、豆蔻（各四分）、桃仁（去尖皮熬）、附子（炮制各五分）。
制法与用法：上药捣碎过筛，炼蜜和丸，如梧桐子大。温水送服三至五丸。如果不下利，继续服用，以下利为度。此方非常灵验，但人久不传。忌海藻、菘菜、猪肉、冷水、生葱、芦笋、生血之物。
治疗滞冷，经年不愈（出自《风科积类》）：
用死人枕头煮服。曾经有一位老妇人，患滞冷之症，经年不愈。徐嗣伯诊断说：“这是尸疰。”应当用死人枕头煮服才能痊愈。于是去古冢中取来枕头，已经一边烂缺。老妇人服后即愈。尸疰者，乃是鬼气，潜伏而未起，故……
五香散：治疗尸疰忤逆邪气，或热或寒，时气在骨节间，似好似重。兼主百病。
药材：沉香、丁香、麝香、薰陆香、鬼箭羽、当归、豆蔻（各四分）、牛黄、鬼臼、橘皮、金牙（烧制各三分）、犀角（屑）、羚羊角（屑）、大黄（各六分）、升麻、桔梗、桃仁（去皮尖熬）、光明朱砂（研）、安息香（研各五分）。
制法与用法：上药研为散剂。用汤剂或酒送服，随病情服用方寸匕，每日两次。病愈即停。也可炼蜜为丸，如梧桐子大，服十丸。
桃奴汤（出自《千金方》）：治疗中恶毒瓦斯蛊疰，心腹突然绞痛。
药材：桃奴、当归、人参、干姜（各二两）、芎䓖、甘草（各三两）、丹砂、麝香、茯苓、犀角、鬼箭羽、桂心（各一两）。
制法与用法：以上十二味药切碎。用水九升，煮取二升半，去渣。分三次服用，饭前服。若大便不通、腹满者，加大黄三两、芒硝二两。另一版本有一两雄黄，无丹砂、芎䓖。
江南度世丸（出自《千金方》）：主治万病，症结积聚，伏尸，长期寒热，疰气流行皮中，久病卧床，肌肉消尽，四肢烦热，呕逆不食，伤寒时气恶疰，汗出，口噤不开，心痛等证，皆治之。
药材：蜀椒（三两）、人参、细辛、甘草（各二两）、茯苓、真珠、大黄、干姜、丹砂（一方作朱砂）、野葛、桂心、雄黄、麝香、鬼臼（各一两）、乌头、牛黄（各二分）、附子、紫菀（各六分）、巴豆（六十枚）、蜈蚣（二枚）。
制法与用法：上药研为末，炼蜜为丸，如小豆大。饮水送服二丸，可加至四丸。每日两次。再加獭肝一副尤佳。另一版本无牛黄，用暖酒送服亦可。
桃奴丸（出自《三因方》）：治疗心气虚有热，恍惚不定，言语错乱，尸疰客忤，魇梦不祥，小儿惊痫，皆可服用。

五尸丸：治疗各种尸疰方。
药材：芍药、桂心（各八分）、吴茱萸（一合）、丹砂（研）、芎䓖、乌头（炮制）、干姜（各四分）、蜀椒（一两去目汗）、栀子仁（五分）、巴豆（四十枚去心皮熬研）。
制法与用法：上药捣碎过筛，炼蜜和丸，如豆大。一次服用，每日三次。忌猪肉、生葱、芦笋、生血等物。
赤茯苓散（出自《圣惠方》）：治疗尸疰，发作无定时，心胸痛，喘急，气上冲，旁攻两胁。

制法与用法：以上六味，捣罗为末，用酒煮阿魏，面糊为丸，如梧桐子大。每服二十丸，生姜乌梅汤送下。
鹳骨丸（出自《圣惠方》）：治疗尸疰恶气流传，忽然闷绝，时发寒热淋沥，或腹痛胀满。
药材：鹳骨（酒炙，一方用鹳骨酥炙）、雄黄（研各一两）、桂（去粗皮三分）、大黄（锉炒三分）、麝香（研半两）、丹砂（研一分，一方用朱砂）、赤足蜈蚣（酒浸炙一条）。

药材：麻黄（三两）、桂心（二两）、甘草（一两）、杏仁（七十粒）。

淮南丸：治疗疰易灭门。女子小儿多疰。各种疰证，心闷乱，头痛吐。有此证者，宜服此方。

丹砂丸（出自《圣惠方》）：治五尸疰瘦病，伏连诸鬼气，恶疰，并传尸劳乏，鬼疰，肌体羸瘦。
药材：丹砂（研一两）、麝香（研三分）、桃仁（汤浸去皮尖双仁炒研七十二枚）。
制法与用法：上各细研，再和研匀，入少蜜炼丸，如小豆大。每服十丸，米饮下。每日三服。忌生羊血物。
Shizhu (Corpse Transmission) refers to the transmission of corpse qi to humans. It is one of the Five Corpse diseases, carrying external ghostly and evil toxic qi, which flows and transmits throughout the body. It is often caused by contracting corpse qi while weeping. It causes alternating chills and fever, dripping sensations, a depressed and silent demeanor, uncertainty about specific suffering, yet a sense of aversion all over the body. Some experience abdominal pain and distension, rapid breathing and inability to breathe, with qi rushing upward to strike the heart and chest, and attacking laterally to both hypochondria. Some present with protruding scrofula masses, or tendon spasms pulling on the waist and spine. Some feel heavy throughout the body and lack mental clarity. With each change of solar term, the condition becomes more stagnant and severe. Over years and months, it leads to death. After death, the transmission can spread to others, potentially wiping out an entire family, hence the name Shizhu.
For any kind of heart and abdominal pain, if various hot medicines are taken but remain inactive in the abdomen, and instead exacerbate shortness of breath, this is Shizhu disease. One should first take one sheng of Licorice Juice (Gancao Zhi), observe for a moment, then take one sheng of Epimedium Decoction (Qumai Tang). If bowel movement occurs, relief will be felt. This method is also suitable for sudden hard accumulations, retained food, and fixed blood-qi pain that flares up unpredictably.
Xiong Zhu San (Cinnabar and Realgar Powder, from *Qianjin Fang*): Treats conditions caused by shock, worry, grief, and sorrow during funerals, leading to infection by corpse qi. Symptoms vary constantly, feeling alternately cold and hot, triggered by wind.
Ingredients: Realgar (Xionghuang), Cinnabar (Zhusha), Dragon Teeth (Longchi), Platycodon Root (Jiegeng), Notopterygium Rhizome (Qianghuo), Angelica Sinensis (Danggui), Cimicifuga Rhizome (Shengma), Aconite Root (Chuanwu), Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizome (Chuanxiong), Rhino Horn (Xijiao), Peony Root (Shaoyao), Arisaema with Bile (Guijianyu), White Silkworm (Baijiangcan, stir-fried), Atractylodes Macrocephala Rhizome (Baizhu), Pinellia Tuber (Nanxing, processed), Gardenia Fruit (Shanzhizi), Tangerine Peel (Chenpi), Costus Root (Muxiang), Scutellaria Root (Huangqin) [all equal parts], Tiger Neck Bone (Hu Jing Gu, vinegar-fried), Perilla Seed (Zisuzi, stir-fried), Polygonum Arthraxon Herb (Mangcao), Bitter Orange (Zhiqiao), Ephedra Stem (Mahuang, 0.5 liang), Centipede (Wugong, two strips, wine-fried), Areca Nut (Binglang, 2 fen), Dried Scorpion (Ganxie, 1 fen, stir-fried).
Preparation and Administration: Grind into fine powder. Take 2 qian each time, mixed with wine. Three times daily.
Case Study: Previously in Zhengcheng, I regularly prepared a batch of Shenjing Dan. In the Gengshen year, a woman in my household dreamed of two dark-skinned servants, one ahead and one behind, holding an object, asking "Have you arrived?" She replied "Arrived," was struck once, making a popping sound, and fell into a nightmare. Upon waking, she had unbearable sharp pain at one point in her heart, fainting for about an hour. I suddenly remembered Shenjing Dan treats this syndrome and gave her three pills. We then traveled to Fucheng. After a short while, the woman was cured; whether she took the medicine or not, the pain stopped and consciousness returned. Now she is normal. Later acquaintances with slight evil qi symptoms were given one or two doses, all effective. This formula in *Qianjin Fang* is a key herb for treating Wind-Stroke. However, true green magnetite is rare nowadays, making preparation difficult.
Da She Xiang Wan (Large Musk Pill): Treats chronic pain lasting years, Shizhu, gu poison, phlegm-fluid retention, masses under the heart and hypochondria, warm miasma, spirit possession, or sadness...
Ingredients: Musk (Shexiang), Cow Bezoar (Niuhuang), Veratrum Root (Lilu, roasted), Cinnabar (Zhusha), Sichuan Angelica (Shu Danggui), Poria (Fuling), Platycodon Root (Jiegeng), Arisaema with Bile (Guijianyu), Gold Tooth (Jinya), Aconite Root (Wutou, processed), Cinnamon Bark (Guixin), Evodia Fruit (Wuzhuyu), Cyathula Root (Guanzhong), Salvia Miltiorrhiza Root (Danshen) [each 1 fen], Centipede (Wugong, feet removed, roasted), Dried Ginger (Ganjiang), Ginseng (Renshen), Tiger Bone (Hugu) [each 3 fen], Podophyllum Rhizome (Guijiu, 0.5 fen), Peony Root (Shaoyao), Realgar (Xionghuang) [each 1.5 fen], Croton Seed (Badou, 20 seeds, dehusked and roasted), Lizard (Xi yi, half piece, roasted).
Preparation and Administration: Crush and sieve. Mix with honey to form pills the size of wutong seeds. Take three pills at dawn with water. By Chen hour (7-9 AM), diarrhea should occur. If not, drink hot liquid to induce it. After two or three loose stools, stop with cold vinegar water. Then eat cooked food, avoiding cold water. Repeat the next day until completely cured. Avoid hot noodles, raw vegetables, persimmons, pears, etc. For snake, scorpion, or bee stings, crush one pill, mix with vinegar, and apply. For spirit possession (foxes, etc.) causing nocturnal disturbances, take two pills daily for two to three days. Burn one pill daily to fumigate the body, clothes, and house. Healthy people can carry three to five pills in a crimson silk bag tied to the left arm to repel tigers, snakes, and spirits. Avoid cat meat, raw blood products, meats, raw green onions, and asparagus. Another version excludes Guijiu and Danshen.
Wu Xiang Wan (Five Fragrances Pill): Treats various toxic transmissions, corpse qi, abdominal distension, constipation, ghost Shizhu heart pain, unbearable pain.

Treatment for stagnation and cold, chronic non-healing (from *Feng Ke Ji Lei*):
Boil and take a pillow from a dead person. Once, an old woman suffered from stagnation and cold for years without cure. Xu Sibao diagnosed it as Shizhu and prescribed boiling a dead person's pillow for her to drink. She went to an ancient grave, retrieved a pillow rotting on one side, and was cured after taking it. Wu Xiang San (Five Fragrances Powder): Treats Shizhu and hostile evil qi, alternating heat and cold, seasonal qi in joints, fluctuating severity. Also treats hundred diseases.
Ingredients: Agarwood (Chenxiang), Clove (Dingxiang), Musk (Shexiang), Frankincense (Xunlu Xiang), Arisaema with Bile (Guijianyu), Angelica Sinensis (Danggui), Cardamom (Doukou) [each 4 fen], Cow Bezoar (Niuhuang), Podophyllum Rhizome (Guijiu), Tangerine Peel (Jupi), Gold Tooth (Jinya, burned) [each 3 fen], Rhino Horn (Xijiao xie), Antelope Horn (Lingyangjiao xie), Rhubarb (Dahuang) [each 6 fen], Cimicifuga Rhizome (Shengma), Platycodon Root (Jiegeng), Peach Kernel (Taoren, dehusked and roasted), Bright Cinnabar (Guangming Zhusha, ground), Benzoin Resin (Anxi Xiang, ground) [each 5 fen].
Preparation and Administration: Grind into powder. Take with decoction or wine, one cun bi per dose according to illness. Twice daily. Stop when cured. Can also be made into honey pills the size of wutong seeds, take ten pills.
Tao Nu Tang (Peach Twig Decoction, from *Qianjin Fang*): Treats sudden evil toxic qi, gu transmission, sudden severe heart and abdominal pain.
Ingredients: Peach Twig (Tao Nu), Angelica Sinensis (Danggui), Ginseng (Renshen), Dried Ginger (Ganjiang) [each 2 liang], Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizome (Xiong), Licorice Root (Gancao) [each 3 liang], Cinnabar (Dansha), Musk (Shexiang), Poria (Fuling), Rhino Horn (Xijiao), Arisaema with Bile (Guijianyu), Cinnamon Bark (Guixin) [each 1 liang].
Preparation and Administration: The above twelve ingredients are chopped. Boil in nine sheng of water to obtain two and a half sheng. Strain. Divide into three doses, taken before meals. If constipation and abdominal fullness exist, add Rhubarb (Dahuang, 3 liang) and Mirabilite (Mangxiao, 2 liang). Another version has 1 liang Realgar, no Cinnabar or Ligusticum.
Jiangnan Dushi Wan (Jiangnan World-Saving Pill, from *Qianjin Fang*): Mainly treats myriad diseases, accumulations, latent corpses, long-term chills and fever, transmission qi circulating in skin, bedridden chronic illness, muscle wasting, limb heat, vomiting, inability to eat, cold damage, seasonal evil transmission, sweating, locked jaw, heart pain, etc.
Ingredients: Sichuan Pepper (Shujiao, 3 liang), Ginseng (Renshen), Asarum (Xixin), Licorice Root (Gancao) [each 2 liang], Poria (Fuling), Pearl (Zhenzhu), Rhubarb (Dahuang), Dried Ginger (Ganjiang), Cinnabar (Dansha, one version uses Zhusha), Wild Kadsura (Yege), Cinnamon Bark (Guixin), Realgar (Xionghuang), Musk (Shexiang), Podophyllum Rhizome (Guijiu) [each 1 liang], Aconite Root (Wutou), Cow Bezoar (Niuhuang) [each 2 fen], Aconite Root (Fuzi), Asterae Radix (Ziwan) [each 6 fen], Croton Seed (Badou, 60 seeds), Centipede (Wugong, 2 pieces).
Preparation and Administration: Grind into powder. Mix with refined honey to form pills the size of small beans. Take two pills with water,可增加 to four pills. Twice daily. Adding one Otter Liver (Tagan) is especially good. Another version lacks Cow Bezoar; warm wine can be used for administration.
Tao Nu Wan (Peach Twig Pill, from *San Yin Fang*): Treats deficiency-heat of Heart Qi, mental confusion, disordered speech, Shizhu, hostile qi, nightmares, pediatric convulsions.
Ingredients: Peach Twig (Tao Nu, 7 pieces, separately ground), Cinnabar (Chensha, 0.5 liang, separately ground), Peach Kernel (Taoren, 14 pieces, dehusked, bran-roasted, separately ground), Borneol (Longnao, 1 fen, separately ground), Raw Trionychodis Carapax (Sheng Daimei, shaved to powder, 1 liang), Cow Bezoar (Niuhuang, 1 fen, separately crushed), Realgar (Xionghuang, 3 fen, washed with peach leaf water), Black Rhino Horn (Hei Xijiao, 0.5 liang, ground with water on stone), Musk (Shexiang, 1 fen, separately ground), Amber (Hupo, 3 fen, separately ground), Benzoin Resin (Anxi Xiang, 1 liang, dissolved in pure wine, filtered, boiled with peach kernel and amber into paste).
Preparation and Administration: Mix all powders with the paste. Form pills the size of Job's tears. Dry in shade. Seal tightly. Store in a quiet room. Decoct Ginseng Soup, dissolve one pill, and take after meals before sleep.
Wu Shi Wan (Five Corpse Pill): Formula for treating various corpse transmissions.

Hu Zhang Wan (Tiger Palm Pill, from *Shenghui Fang*): Treats Shizhu chills and fever, loss of appetite, stabbing heart and abdominal pain.

Guan Gu Wan (Stork Bone Pill, from *Shenghui Fang*): Treats Shizhu evil qi spreading, sudden fainting, alternating chills and fever, abdominal pain and distension.

Ingredients: Du Heng (Du Heng, 1 liang stems), Fermented Soybeans (Chi, 1 liang), Ginseng (Renshen, 0.5 liang), Bottle Gourd Seeds (Huzi Ren, 20 seeds), Chinese Lovage Seed (Songluo, 6 zhu), Adzuki Bean (Chixiaodou, 2 seeds).
Preparation and Administration: Grind into powder. Take one cun bi with warm wine at dawn. Should vomit various substances. If not complete, take again later.
Zhusha Wan (Cinnabar Pill, from *Zhouhou Fang*): Treats Shizhu, ghost evil toxic qi transmitting through the body, causing chills, fever, abdominal pain, mental confusion.

Guan Gu Wan (Stork Bone Pill, from *Shenghui Fang*): Treats Shizhu evil qi, chills, fainting. Also treats hundred diseases.
Ingredients: Stork Bone (Guan Gu, 1 cun roasted, one version uses stork skin 3 cun roasted), Cinnamon (Gui, bark removed, 0.5 liang), Horsefly (Mengchong), Mustard Beetle (Banmao) [each 14 pieces, wings/feet removed, fried], Croton Seed (Badou, 30 seeds, dehusked and roasted).
Preparation and Administration: Grind into fine powder. Mix with refined honey to form pills the size of small beans. Take three pills each time with warm water. Three times daily.
Zhou Yin (Porridge Drink): (Title only, no content in original).
Huan Hun Tang (Soul-Returning Decoction, aka Zhui Hun Tang, from *Fan Shi Fang*): Treats sudden invasion by hostile ghosts, flying corpses, and various transmissions, leading to sudden cessation of breath and unconsciousness. Or if already dead with clenched jaws. Remove teeth and administer decoction. If it doesn't go down, part the hair, hold shoulders, press and pull to facilitate swallowing. Add another sheng. Revive quickly. *Jin Gui* states: Cun pulse deep, large, and slippery. Deep indicates excess, slippery indicates qi. Excess and qi clash; if blood and qi enter the zang organs, death ensues.
Ingredients: Ephedra Stem (Mahuang, 3 liang), Cinnamon Bark (Guixin, 2 liang), Licorice Root (Gancao, 1 liang), Apricot Seed (Xingren, 70 grains).
Preparation and Administration: Sieve evenly. Boil in eight sheng of water to obtain three sheng. Divide into three doses. Another version lacks Cinnamon Bark, using only three ingredients.
Huainan Wan: Treats transmission wiping out families. Women and children are prone to transmission. Various transmission syndromes, chest oppression, headache, vomiting. Those with these symptoms should take this formula.
Ingredients: Plantago Seed (Cheqianzi), Root Bark of Plum Tree under Cart (Chexia Ligen Pi), Lithospermum Erythrorhizon (Shi Changsheng), Polygala Root (Xuchangqing) [equal amounts of several liang].
Preparation and Administration: Coarsely chop. Place half he in a square pouch, tie to belt or head. If the whole family suffers sudden tragedy, share this pouch. Before entering a transmission-infested house, burn this medicine to ash and take with water.
Mituo Seng San (Lead Monoxide Powder): Treats exposure to corpses, weeping, corpse qi entering abdomen, stagnating zang-fu, occasional flare-ups. Highly effective for labor accumulation.

Ingredients: Apricot Seed (Xingren), Ash of Human Hair (Luann Fa Hui) [equal parts].
Preparation and Administration: Grind into paste. Form pills the size of wutong seeds. Take three pills with wine each time, three times daily. Another version uses pig fat to form pills.
Treatment for Dunshi and Shizhu, painful areas in heart, abdomen, and body that cannot be touched (from *Qianjin Fang*):
Take a small handful of Mugwort (Ai), crush it. Place it on the painful area, thickness over one cun. Mix hot water with ash to make it strongly hot, place on Mugwort. Replace when cool. Cured within two or three applications.
Treatment for Shizhu evil qi:
Use Cat Bone (Li Gu), skull is best. Burn to ash, take 2 qian with wine. Also treats poisoning from wild bird meat, swelling. Take again to cure. May Pig Manure (May) is extremely effective. Do not eat meat in May to avoid harming spirit.
Treatment for Shizhu Ghost Shizhu abdominal pain:
Use Stork Bone (Guan Gu), very cold. Can be used alone. Roast until yellow, grind to powder. Take one cun bi with warm wine on empty stomach. White Storks nest in trees.
Treatment for Shizhu (from *Zhouhou Fang*):
Burn human hair to the size of a chicken egg, grind to powder, take with water to cure.
Treatment for Shizhu, Sichuan Pepper Ironing Method. Also treats wandering transmission (from *Shenghui Fang*):

Siren Xi Tang (Dead Person Mat Decoction): Treats Shizhu damaging nose, smelling foul odors, seeing corpses frequently.
Take mat used by dead person, cut from coffin interior, discard remainder on road. Take a mouthful, length three cun. Boil in three sheng of water to obtain one sheng. One dose brings immediate effect.
Wan Bing Wan (Myriad Disease Pill): Treats five labors and seven injuries, Shizhu invasion, heart and abdominal pain, indigestion, hypochondriac distension, skin contraction.
Ingredients: Polygala Root (Yuanzhi, heart removed), Alisma Rhizome (Zexie), Dendrobium Stem (Shihu, roots removed), Biota Seed (Baizi Ren, separately ground), Cloud Mother (Yunmu, water-ground), Pyrrhosia Leaf (Shiwei, hairs removed), Eucommia Bark (Duzhong, bark removed, roasted), Heaven Male (Tianxiong, processed, peeled), Achyranthes Root (Niuxi, oil removed, wine-soaked, sliced, baked), White Poria (Bai Fuling, black skin removed), Acorus Rhizome (Changpu), Yam (Shanyu), Prepared Rehmannia Root (Shu Dihuang, baked), Teasel Root (Xuduan), Cistanche Stem (Rou Congrong, wine-soaked, sliced, baked), Dried Ginger (Ganjiang, roasted), Chrysanthemum Flower (Gan Juhua), Cinnamon (Gui, bark removed), Schisandra Berry (Wuweizi), Cnidium Fruit (Shechuangzi, fried), Cornelian Cherry Fruit (Shanzhuyu) [each 0.5 liang], Platycodon Root (Jiegeng, fried), Saposhnikovia Root (Fangfeng), Atractylodes Rhizome (Baizhu) [each 1 liang], Aconite Root (Fuzi, 4 pieces, processed, peeled), Ophiopogon Tuber (Tianmendong, heart removed, baked, 1.5 liang), Asarum Root (Xixin, leaves removed, 3 fen).
Preparation and Administration: Grind into powder. Mix with refined honey, pound 1000 times. Form pills the size of wutong seeds. Take twenty pills each time.
Chi Shaoyao Wan (Red Peony Pill, from *Shenghui Fang*): Treats Five Corpse Transmissions and various ghost transmissions, sudden heart pain.
Ingredients: Red Peony Root (Chi Shaoyao, chopped, 1 liang), Evodia Fruit (Wuzhuyu, soaked, dried, roasted), Cinnabar (Dansha, ground) [each 0.5 liang], Sichuan Pepper (Shujiao, de-eyed, fried, sweat removed), Aconite Root (Wutou, processed, peeled) [each 0.5 liang], Dried Ginger (Ganjiang, roasted, 3 fen), Cinnamon (Gui, bark removed, 1 liang).

Dansha Wan (Cinnabar Pill, from *Shenghui Fang*): Treats Five Corpse Transmission emaciation, latent ghost qi, evil transmission, infectious consumption, ghost transmission, emaciated body.
Ingredients: Cinnabar (Dansha, ground, 1 liang), Musk (Shexiang, ground, 3 fen), Peach Kernel (Taoren, soaked, dehusked, roasted, 72 pieces).
Preparation and Administration: Grind each finely. Mix together evenly. Add little honey to form pills the size of small beans. Take ten pills each time with rice drink. Three times daily. Avoid raw sheep blood products.
Treatment for Shizhu abdominal pain and hemorrhoids (from *Bencao*):
Use Lingxiang Wood from Fox (Huli Zhiling Xiangmu), take 2 qian bi with wine. Severe cases, no more than ten doses, later verified.
