所谓疟母，是指患疟疾后病情未能痊愈，邪气结聚形成症瘕（腹内结块）。这是因为邪气潜伏于阴分，日久成形，难以治愈。虽然这个“母”有时可能暂时缓解，但病根未除。
方剂：
雄黄丸（出自《圣济总录》），治疗各种多年疟疾结成症瘕。
药材：雄黄（研细）、丹砂（研细）、麝香（各半两，研细）、木香、鳖甲（醋炙，去裙边）、龟甲（醋炙）、虎头骨（焙干）、母（此处原文缺字，疑为某药名，按原文保留或略过，依上下文推测可能指代某种动物药或补益药，因原文残缺，暂译为“母[药]”）、防风（去叉股）、柴胡（去苗）、茯神（去木质心）、升麻、梅肉（炒制）、阿魏（研细）、桃仁（汤浸泡，去皮尖，焙干，取三分）。以上药物除需单独研磨的外，其余都研成细末，混合均匀研磨。用炼蜜制成丸药。在疟疾发作前服用。

药材：生鳖肉（半斤，也可用鳖甲代替）、黄芩（去黑心）、柴胡（去苗）、蜣螂（去翅、头、足，炒制，各半两）、鼠妇（炒制）、[原文残缺，疑为厚朴或其他]（去粗皮）、牡[蛎]（浸去滑腻，焙干）、人参、大[枣?]（[原文残缺]）、[原文残缺]（去粗皮，尖双仁者另研）、石苇（去毛）、赤[茯苓?]（[原文残缺]）。研成细末。取灶下灰三升，酒二升，淋灰取汁，再煎成膏。可以制丸时停止。丸药大小如梧桐子大。
老疟饮（出自《三因方》），治疗久疟，结成症瘕在腹胁部，其他药物无效者。并治疗瘴疟。
药材：苍术（泔水浸泡）、草果（去皮）、桔梗、青皮、陈皮、良姜（各半两）、白芷、茯苓、半夏（汤洗去滑）、[川]芎（各二钱）。以上药物研成[细末]。仍吞服后服用胃疟内的红[药?]。
鳖甲饮子（出自《仁存方》），治疗疟疾久不愈，胁下痞满，病人形体消瘦，腹中结块，时常发作寒热，名为疟[母]。
药材：鳖甲（醋炙）、白术、黄[芪]（去芦头）、草果仁、槟榔、[川]芎、橘红、白芍药、甘草（炙）、浓[厚]朴（[原文残缺]）七分。
丹砂丸（一名截疟丹，出自《直指方》），治疗疟母。精心配制。
药材：丹砂（研细）、绿豆粉（去皮研粉）、砒霜（研细，各半两）。以上药物在端午日，于静室内，面向东南方向，用[乳钵]研磨。[在]发作前[服用]。
如圣丸（出自《圣济总录》），治疗疟疾，结成症瘕。
药材：巴豆（三粒，去壳）、黑豆（四十九粒）、砒霜（研细，半两）。先将巴豆、黑豆，用米醋浸泡一夜，去[皮膜]。取嫩[芽?]无桃[仁?]。
二黄丸（出自《圣济总录》），治疗疟母。
以生砒霜、黄豆末各一两，用浓醋二升，一起煎成膏。可以制丸时取出。另外加入丹砂、雄黄、麝香各一钱。
至妙疟丹（出自《王氏传信方》），治疗疟母。
药材：砒霜（研细，半两）、寒水石（研细，一两）。先将在生铁铫内研细的砒霜，用寒水石末丸之。用瓷碗盖定。[原文残缺]湿[了?]于[?]时[?]不[?]治老疟。（出自《肘后方》）
用龙骨末，方寸匕量。在发作前一小时，用酒一升半，煮至三沸。趁热全部服下。温覆取汗。

取牛膝茎叶一把切碎，用酒三升浸泡后服用，令身体微有酒气。如果不立即断根，再制作服用。不超过三剂即可停止。崔元亮海上[方]。
治疗老疟发作无定时者。（又名[鬼]疟，又呼为妖疟，方出《本草》）
取疟龟烧成灰，饮水送服一二钱。应当轻微腹泻。取头部烧灰服用更好。也应在发作时煮为沸汤坐浴浸身。也悬挂安[置?]病[处?]。

炙鳖甲，杵为细末。服用方寸匕。到时令时三服尽。用火炙烤。无不治愈。
治疗老疟母。（出自《澹寮方》）

Ingredients: Xionghuang (Realgar, ground), Dansha (Cinnabar, ground), Shexiang (Musk, each 0.5 liang, ground), Muxiang (Costus Root), Biejia (Tartar Testudinis, vinegar-fried, remove skirt edge), Gujia (Testudinis Carapax et Plastrum, vinegar-fried), Hutougu (Os Tigris Capitis, roasted), Mu [Medicine] (original text missing character, likely an animal medicine or tonic), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, remove forked roots), Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix, remove seedlings), Fushen (Poria with Hostwood, remove woody core), Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), Meirou (Plum Flesh, stir-fried), Awèi (Ferulae Resina, ground), Taoren (Persicae Semen, soaked in hot water, remove skin and tips, dried, take 3 fen). Except for those requiring separate grinding, all other ingredients are ground into fine powder, mixed evenly, and ground together. Form pills with refined honey. Take before the onset of malaria.
Biejia Jian Wan (Turtle Shell Decoction Pill) (from *Qianjin Fang*): Treats prolonged malaria that has not resolved, forming Zhengjia (abdominal masses), named Nuomother.
Ingredients: Sheng Bie Rou (Fresh Turtle Meat, 0.5 jin; can also use Biejia), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix, remove black heart), Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix, remove seedlings), Qianglang (Scarabaeus, remove wings, head, feet, fried, each 0.5 liang), Shufu (Armadillidium, fried), [Original text missing, likely Houpo], Qu Cupi (remove coarse bark), Mu [Li] (Ostreae Concha, soak to remove slipperiness, dry), Renshen (Ginseng Radix), Da [Zao] (Jujubae Fructus, [missing]), [Missing] (remove coarse bark, double-kernel ones ground separately), Shiwei (Pyri Folium, remove hairs), Chi [Fuling] (Poria, [missing]). Grind into fine powder. Take 3 sheng of ash from the kitchen stove, add 2 sheng of wine, leach the ash to extract juice, then boil down to a paste. Stop when it can be formed into pills. Make pills the size of wutong seeds.
Laonuo Yin (Old Malaria Drink) (from *San Yin Fang*): Treats prolonged malaria forming Zhengjia (abdominal masses) in the abdomen and hypochondrium, ineffective against other medicines. Also treats Zhangmalaria (Miasma Malaria).
Ingredients: Cangzhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma, soaked in rice water), Caoguo (Tsaoko Fructus, remove peel), Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix), Qingpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Viride), Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Liangjiang (Alpiniae Officinarum Rhizoma, each 0.5 liang), Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Fuling (Poria), Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma, washed in hot water to remove slipperiness), [Chuan] Xiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma, each 2 qian). Grind the above ingredients into [fine powder]. Swallow and then take the red [medicine] inside the Weimao internal formula.
Biejia Yinzi (Turtle Shell Infusion) (from *Ren Cun Fang*): Treats malaria that does not heal for a long time, fullness and obstruction under the hypochondrium, emaciation of the patient, masses in the abdomen, frequent attacks of chills and fever, named Nuomother.
Ingredients: Biejia (Tartar Testudinis Carapax, vinegar-fried), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Huang [Qi] (Astragali Radix, remove radicle), Caoguoren (Tsaoko Fructus Seed), Binglang (Arecae Semen), [Chuan] Xiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Juhong (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Rubrum), Baishao (Paeoniae Radix Alba), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, roasted), Nong [Hou] Po (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex, [missing]) 7 fen.
Dansha Wan (Cinnabar Pill) (also known as Jimie Dan, from *Zhizhi Fang*): Treats Nuomother. Carefully prepared.
Ingredients: Dansha (Cinnabar, ground), Ludoufen (Mung Bean Starch, skin removed and ground into powder), Pishuang (Arsenic Trioxide, ground, each 0.5 liang). On the Dragon Boat Festival (Duanwu Day), in a quiet room, facing southeast, grind in a [mortar]. Take [before] the attack.
Rusheng Wan (Like Sage Pill) (from *Shengji Zonglu*): Treats malaria, forming Zhengjia (abdominal masses).
Ingredients: Badou (Crotonis Fructus, 3 grains, remove shell), Heidou (Sojae Semen Nigrum, 49 grains), Pishuang (Arsenic Trioxide, ground, 0.5 liang). First, soak Badou and Heidou in rice vinegar overnight, remove [skin and membrane]. Take tender [sprouts?] without peach [kernels?].
Jingxiao Niedan (Effective Malaria Elixir): Treats Nuomother with accumulated phlegm-stasis, incessant chills and fever.
Erhuang Wan (Two Yellows Pill) (from *Shengji Zonglu*): Treats Nuomother.
Take raw Pishuang (Arsenic Trioxide) and Huangdou mo (soybean powder), each 1 liang. Boil with 2 sheng of strong vinegar until it becomes a paste. When ready to form pills, take out. Add Dansha (Cinnabar), Xionghuang (Realgar), and Shexiang (Musk), each 1 qian.
Zhimiao Niedan (Utmost Marvelous Malaria Elixir) (from *Wangshi Chuanxin Fang*): Treats Nuomother.
Ingredients: Pishuang (Arsenic Trioxide, ground, 0.5 liang), Hanshuishi (Calcitritum, ground, 1 liang). First grind Pishuang in a raw iron pot. Use Hanshuishi powder to coat the pills. Use Longgu mo (Fossilized Bones powder), one fangcun bi dose. One hour before the attack, boil 1.5 sheng of wine for three boils. Take all while hot. Cover warmly to induce sweating.
Yanjing Wan: Treats Wumao (Five Malias) and Bip (Eight Obstructions).
Treat old malaria that persists for a long time. (from *Bencao*)
Take a handful of Niuxi stems and leaves, cut them up, soak in 3 sheng of wine and drink. Let the body have a slight alcoholic sensation. If not immediately cured, prepare again. Not more than three doses will stop it. Cui Yuanliang Haishang [Formula].
Treat old malaria with irregular attacks. (Also called Gui [Ghost] Malaria, also called Yao Malaria, formula from *Bencao*)
Burn the Malaria Turtle to ash, take 1-2 qian with water. There should be mild diarrhea. Burning the head is better. Also, boil into hot water for sitz bath during attacks. Hang [place?] sick [room?].

Roast Biejia (Tartar Testudinis Carapax), pound into powder. Take one fangcun bi dose. By the season, finish three doses. Roast with fire. All will be cured.

Ingredients: Taoren (Persicae Semen, remove skin and tips, slightly fried), Biejia (Tartar Testudinis Carapax, vinegar-fried), Hengshan (Polygalae Radix, boiled in wine), Douchi (Sojae Semen Praeparatum, steamed with plum or ground during attack).
