In febrile diseases, some patients have not yet undergone diaphoresis (sweating), emesis (vomiting), or purgation (drastic evacuation), or after taking medicine, present with a flooding, full, and rapid pulse, abdominal and epigastric distension and fullness, dark yellow urine, difficult defecation, thirst, irritability, and reddish complexion. This is due to the presence of knotted heat in the fu and zang organs.
