【附论】
肝虚引起的眼病，症状表现不一。有的突然发生眼睑肿胀，有的眼泪流个不停，有的黑眼球上生出翳膜和晕圈，有的视物模糊不清，不能看清远处或近处的物体。
《龙木论》记载：肝虚伴有积热的外障眼病，在初发的时候，突然发生肿胀，眼睛发红干涩并流泪，又痒又痛且感觉隐涩不适，瞳仁和黑眼球逐渐生出毒点。
歌诀说：用力过度、劳心伤神导致眼睛赤痛发作，眼睛疼痛怕光，泪水难以睁开。有时发作有时停止，仿佛怨鬼愁神在作祟降灾。如果忽然遇到医生治疗还可以缓解，但必须知道这是肝膈部位的热劳所致。急需寻求汤药迅速去除病邪，不要让病根留在脏腑之中埋藏。一只眼睛刚开始发病时，要警惕另一只眼睛随后也会受累。今年发作时若能轻轻度过，来年可能会多次反复且病情转危。服用青葙子制成的药丸必须牢记坚持服用；若需手术剥离双睑上的血翳，眼中适宜点入朱砂方剂。
还睛补肝丸
治疗肝虚。双眼昏暗，迎风流泪。
白术、细辛（去苗叶）、当归（切片焙干）、决明子（微炒）、川芎、羌活（去芦头）、五味子、白茯苓（炒）、桂枝（去粗皮）。
制成如梧桐子大小的药丸。每次服用三十丸。
镇肝丸（出自《龙木方》）
治疗肝经不足，体内感受风热，向上攻冲眼目。症状为视物昏暗、瘙痒疼痛、隐涩难睁、眼屎多且流泪。时而发生红肿，或者生内障外障。都适宜服用此药。
白茯苓（去皮一两）、甘菊花（半两）、甘草（炙各半两）、地骨皮（去土半两）、蔓荆子（去白皮）、车前子（半两）、青风藤（去芦苗各一两）、细辛。
用水煮成糊状制丸，大小如梧桐子。每次服用二十丸。
柏子仁丸（出自《圣济总录》）
治疗肝虚。视物模糊，不能远视。黑眼球昏暗，涩痛且有翳晕，时聚时散。
柏子仁（研碎）、薏苡仁、乌麻仁、车前子、枸杞子、菟丝子（酒浸后另捣成末，各一两）、蔓荆子、肉苁蓉（焙干）。
制成如梧桐子大小的药丸。每次服用二十丸，空腹时用温水送服。
龙脑青葙子丸（出自《圣惠方》）
治疗肝脏虚风。时常流出冷泪，眼目昏暗。
龙脑（细研）、牛黄（细研）、曾青（烧后细研，各半两）、青葙子、人参（去芦头）、车前子、白茯苓（飞研各一两）、旋复花。
捣三二百杵，制成如梧桐子大小的药丸。
瓜子散（出自《千金方》）
补肝。治疗眼目视物模糊不明。又名十子散方。
冬瓜子、青葙子、茺蔚子、枸杞子、牡荆子、蒺藜子、菟丝子、芜菁子、决明子、地肤子。
细辛（半两）。
制成散剂。
远志丸（出自《直指方》）
治疗清益心肝，明目退翳。
人参、茯神（去木）、芦荟（研碎）、琥珀、蔓荆子（各半两）、川芎、生地黄、熟地黄（洗后焙干）、茺蔚子、细辛、车前子、远志。
制成丸剂。
羌活散（出自《龙木论》）
镇肝明目。治疗暴发性红眼，也治疗一般红眼及一切内外障翳。
羌活、川芎、旋复花、防风（各半两）、甘草、楮叶、苍术（用米泔水浸泡去皮白，晒干不见火）、桑叶。
制成散剂，茶清调下。
盖因阴阳二物相配，有实者为阳，无实取叶者为阴。所以不得其真意。忌食湿面及酒，否则所有药物都无效。
青葙子丸（出自《龙木论》）
治疗肝虚，积热导致的外障眼病。
青葙子（二两）、车前子、细辛、干地黄、菟丝子、防风、茺蔚子、五味子、人参、泽泻、茯苓。
制成丸剂。
干地黄丸（出自《圣济总录》）
治疗肝虚。眼泪流个不停，翳晕侵入黑眼球，视物不能看远。或者眼睛昏浊，黑白不分。
熟干地黄（焙干）、五味子、蕤仁（去皮研碎）、菟丝子（酒浸一夜另捣）、车前子（各一两）、细辛（半两）。
上药为末，炼蜜为丸。
羊肝丸（出自《龙木论》）
镇肝明目。
甘菊花、羌活、柏子仁、细辛、官桂、白术、五味子（各半两）、黄连（三分）、羯羊肝（一具）。
制成丸剂。
地黄丸（一名菊花丸）
治疗用力劳心，肝虚风热，攻冲眼睛导致红肿羞明，逐渐生出翳膜。兼治肝肾风毒、热气。
久视伤血，血生肝，所以勤书写字则伤肝而眼睛昏花。肝受伤则眼睛生风，热气上凑，导致目昏。
应当专门服用补药，当益血镇肝，眼睛自然明亮。
黄连、决明子（各一两）、没药、甘菊花、防风、羌活、桂心、光明朱砂（各半两）、熟干地黄。
制成丸剂。
补肝汤 治疗肝虚。两胁满痛，筋脉拘急，不能喘息。双眼昏暗，面色多呈青色。
防风（去叉苗）、细辛（去苗叶）、柏子仁、白茯苓（去黑皮）、桂枝（去粗皮）、甘草（微炙锉）、山茱萸。
用水一盏煎服。
甘草汤（出自《圣济总录》）
治疗肝气不足。两胁拘急，疼痛伴寒热，眼睛不明。
甘草（炙锉）、防风（去叉苗各一两）、桂枝（去粗皮）、乌豆（一合）、细辛（去苗叶各半两）。
制成丸剂。
槟榔汤（出自《圣济总录》）
治疗肝虚寒。眼目昏暗，胁下痛，胀满气急。
槟榔（锉生用）、陈橘皮（汤浸去白）、桔梗（各一两）、白茯苓（去黑皮一两半）、白术（二两）。
每次服用五钱。
用水一盏，生姜三片，大枣一枚。
石决明丸 治疗肝虚血弱。眼睛长久昏暗。
石决明、五味子、菟丝子（酒浸一夜另捣末各一两）、细辛（去苗叶）、知母（焙）、山芋、熟干地黄。
制成丸剂。
朱砂煎（出自《龙木论》）
治疗肝虚积热，外障。
龙脑（一分）、乳香（二分）、朱砂（半两）、细辛、白芷、黄连、秦皮（各一两）。
上药为末，以水煎煮。
地黄丸（出自《龙木论》）
治疗男子妇人肝脏积热，肝虚目暗，膜入水轮，瞒睛眵泪，眼见黑花，视物不清，睛冷泪，翳膜遮障，肾脏虚惫，肝受虚热，久近暴热赤眼，风毒瓦斯眼，干湿香港脚，消渴，诸风气等疾。由肾气虚败者。只要服用此药，能补肝益肾，驱邪明目，非常有效。
生干地黄（洗焙）、熟干地黄（洗焙各一斤）、枳壳（去瓤麸炒）、石斛（去苗）、防风（去苗各四两）。
制成如梧桐子大小的药丸。
空腹时，温酒、盐汤、米饮任选择送服三十丸。忌食动风之物。唐相李恭，扈从在蜀地，患眼病。有时涩，有时痛，有时生翳膜，有时见黑花如豆大，累累数十不断，有时如飞虫翅羽。百方不效。僧人智深说：相公此病，缘于受风毒。盖五脏实则泻其子，虚则补其母。母能令子实，子能令母虚。肾是肝之母。今肾受风毒，故令肝虚，则目视不明。用药与此地黄丸相同。但制成散末，不犯铁器。空腹，豆淋酒下五十丸。豆淋酒法：用黑豆半升，炒至冒烟，用酒三升浇之，去豆用酒。以此酒煮独活，即是紫汤也。
流气饮 治疗肝经不足，内受风热，上攻眼目昏暗，视物不明。常见黑花。当风多泪，怕日。
菊花散（出自《危氏方》）
治疗肝受风毒。眼目昏蒙，渐生翳膜。
蝉蜕（去足）、白蒺藜（炒焦去刺）、羌活（各三两）、甘菊（去萼四两）、木贼（去节童便内浸一宿）。
制成汤剂。
汤泡散 治疗肝虚，风热攻眼。赤肿羞明，渐生翳障。
当归尾、赤芍药、黄连（去须）、杏仁（各五钱）、铜青（二钱）、防风（五钱）、薄荷叶（三钱）。
制成散剂。
还睛丸 治疗肝脏虚血弱，不能上助目力。视物昏暗。
雷严丸（出自《宣明论》）
治疗男子妇人肝经不足，风邪内乘上攻。目暗泪出，羞明怕日。多见黑花。睛珠，睑生风粟，或痒或痛，隐涩难开。兼久患偏正头风，牵引两目渐觉细小，视物不明。皆因肾水不能既济于肝木。此药久服，大补肾脏，添目力。
肉苁蓉、巴戟天（浸一宿去皮心）、牛膝（各一两）、菊花、枸杞子（各二两）、川椒（三两去目）、黑附子[青盐二钱（两）以泔水三升同煮为度去皮脐一两]。
上药为末，先浸药酒，煮面糊为丸。
五加皮汤（出自《圣济总录》）
治疗肝虚受风。筋脉拘急，手足疮痹，目视不明。

补肝汤 治疗肝气不足。

治疗肝虚。风毒瓦斯眼，多泪涩痛。

脑子（二钱半）、蕤仁（二两去皮油壳称取二两细研去油）。

As for Liver Deficiency Eye Disease, the symptoms are diverse. Some present with sudden onset of swelling, some with unceasing tearing, some with the formation of nebulae and halos on the cornea, and some with blurred vision, unable to see clearly at far or near distances.
The *Longmu Lun* states: In external barrier eye disease caused by Liver deficiency and accumulated heat, at the initial stage, there is sudden swelling, redness, dryness, tearing, itching, pain that is difficult to endure, and gradually, toxic spots appear on the pupil and cornea.
A song says: Pain and redness arise from excessive effort and mental labor; eyes hurt and fear light, making it hard to open them. They flare up intermittently, as if caused by resentful ghosts and sorrowful spirits bringing disaster. If a doctor is consulted promptly, recovery is possible; one must know this is due to heat and fatigue in the Liver and Diaphragm. Seek decoctions urgently to remove the pathogen quickly, lest the root cause remain buried in the Zang organs. When one eye first becomes afflicted, the other will likely follow. If it passes lightly this year, it may become more frequent and dangerous in subsequent years. For treatment, Qingxiangzi Wan (Cocklebur Seed Pill) must be taken consistently; if surgery is needed to incise the eyelids to drain blood, Zhusha Fang (Cinnabar Formula) should be instilled into the eyes to restore vision and tonify the Liver.
Huanjing Buchgan Wan (Restore Vision Tonify Liver Pill)
Treats Liver deficiency, causing dim vision in both eyes and tearing upon exposure to wind.
Ingredients: Atractylodis Rhizoma (Baizhu), Asari Radix (Xixin, removed seedlings and leaves), Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui, sliced and baked), Cassiae Semen (Juemingzi, slightly stir-fried), Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Xiongqiong), Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix (Qianghuo, removed rhizome head), Schisandrae Fructus (Wuweizi), Poria (Baifuling, stir-fried), Cinnamon Twig (Guizhi, removed coarse bark).

Treats insufficiency of the Liver Meridian, internal accumulation of wind-heat attacking the eyes, causing dim vision, itching, pain, difficulty opening the eyes due to astringency, excessive discharge, tearing, intermittent redness and swelling, or formation of barriers and nebulae. Suitable for all these conditions.
Ingredients: Poria (Baifuling, peeled, 1 liang), Chrysanthemi Flos (Gan Juhua, 0.5 liang), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao, honey-fried, 0.5 liang each), Cortex Lycii (Digupi, cleaned of soil, 0.5 liang), Viticis Fructus (Manjingzi, peeled), Plantaginis Semen (Cheqianzi, 0.5 liang), Qingfengteng (Qingfeng, removed rhizome and seedlings, 1 liang each), Asari Radix (Xixin).
Preparation: Decoct in water to make a paste, then mix with herb powder to form pills the size of Sophora japonica seeds.

Baiziren Wan (Platycladi Seed Pill) [From *Shengji Zonglu*]
Treats Liver deficiency, blurred vision, inability to see far, dim eyeballs, dryness, pain, and nebulae that gather and disperse intermittently.
Ingredients: Platycladi Semen (Baiziren, ground), Coicis Semen (Yiyiren), Sesami Fructus Niger (Wumaren), Plantaginis Semen (Cheqianzi), Lycii Fructus (Gouqizi), Dodonaeae Semen (Tusizi, soaked in wine and separately ground to powder, 1 liang each), Viticis Fructus (Manjingzi), Cistanches Herba (Roucongrong, baked).
Preparation: Form pills the size of Sophora japonica seeds.

Ingredients: Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix (Qianghuo), Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Chuanxiong), Inulae Flos (Xuanjinhua), Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fangfeng, 0.5 liang each), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao), Broussonetiae Folium (Chuye), Atractylodis Rhizoma (Cangzhu, soaked in rice water, peeled, dried without direct fire), Mori Folium (Sangye).
Usage: Grind to fine powder, take with clear tea.

Dihuang Wan (Rehmannia Pill, also known as Juhua Wan)
Treats strain and mental labor, Liver deficiency with wind-heat attacking the eyes causing redness, swelling, photophobia, and gradual formation of membranes. Also treats Liver-Kidney wind-toxicity and rising heat.
Note: Prolonged viewing damages Blood, which generates the Liver; thus, diligent writing damages the Liver leading to dim vision. Liver damage causes wind in the eyes, and heat rises, causing dimness. One should exclusively take tonifying medicines to nourish Blood and sedate the Liver, so vision naturally clears.
Ingredients: Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian), Cassiae Semen (Juemingzi, 1 liang each), Myrrha (Moyao), Chrysanthemi Flos (Gan Juhua), Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fangfeng), Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix (Qianghuo), Cinnamon Heart (Guixin), Bright Guang Zhu Sha (Guangming Zhusha, 0.5 liang each), Prepared Rehmanniae Radix (Shu Gan Dihuang).

Treats men and women with Liver organ accumulated heat, Liver deficiency causing dim vision, membrane entering the water wheel (pupil), obstructed vision with discharge and tearing, seeing black flowers, unclear vision, cold tears, nebulae blocking vision, Kidney deficiency and exhaustion, Liver receiving deficient heat, recent or chronic acute red eye, wind-toxic qi eye, wet/dry gout, diabetes, and various wind diseases. Caused by failure of Kidney Qi. Taking this can tonify Liver and Kidney, expel evil, and brighten eyes, very effective.
