治疗男子患脓血恶痢，痛苦难忍：
从前有人忽然看见水中浸泡的甜瓜，心里非常喜爱，连皮吃了几枚，结果脓血痢疾都好了。人们说下痢没有止法，这是什么话呢？人们只知道痢疾是虚冷证，用温燥、清洗、截断的方法治疗，除此之外别无他法。哪里知道风、水、火、温、燥、寒这六种因素都能导致痢疾。这就是用水蜜甜瓜治疗有效的道理。
治疗下痢纯血：
取黄柏一两，用蜂蜜炙烤至杏黄色，研成粉末。每次服用三钱，空腹服用。
椿根皮：治疗下痢排出青色血液，腹中刺痛。
取椿树根白皮适量，晒干后研成粉末。用醋和面糊制成梧桐子大小的丸剂。空腹时用米汤送服。
治疗痢疾出血：
以前曾鲁公患痢疾出血一百多天，朝廷御医都无法治愈。陈应之取乌梅一枚，去掉核后研磨，配合腊茶，用醋汤冲服。喝一次就好了。大丞相庄肖梁公也患痢疾出血，陈应之说：“这是夹杂水谷不化的情况，应当使用三物散。”也是服用几次就好了。三物散由胡黄连、乌梅肉、灶下土组成，等分为末，用腊茶清调服，饭前服用。
葵子散：治疗血痢，以及妇人产后血痢。
