Glutinous Rice Paste (from *Shengji Zonglu*)
To treat metal weapon injuries.
Take three sheng of glutinous rice, remove non-glutinous grains, place in a porcelain basin, and soak in cold water starting forty-nine days before the Dragon Boat Festival. Change the water twice daily. Gently rinse without crushing the grains. Soak until the Dragon Boat Festival, then take out and dry in the shade. Store in a raw silk bag and hang in a ventilated place. Take a small amount as needed, stir-fry.
If a metal weapon injury is contaminated with raw water, causing suppuration and increasing redness and swelling, urgently wrap the wound with this medicinal paste. After about the time it takes to eat a meal, the swelling subsides, suppuration ceases, and the wound heals. For puncture wounds by bamboo or wood splinters, apply before sleep; check the next day if the splinter is embedded in the paste. For metal weapon injuries and water toxicity, do not change the dressing frequently to avoid disturbing the wound.
To treat chronic non-healing metal weapon injuries (from *Shenghui Fang*).

*Huarius Shi San* Powder (from *Heji Jufang*)
To treat all injuries from metal blades, arrowheads, contusions, cat and dog bites, even those resulting in apparent death. Immediately apply medicine to the wound site; the blood transforms into yellow fluid. Reapply medicine to revive the patient, relieving pain. If internal injury causes blood to enter the viscera, heat child's urine, add a little wine, mix with one large qian of powder, and ingest for immediate effect. If intestines protrude due to ox goring but are intact, reinsert them immediately. Use fine mulberry root bark fibers as thread to suture the abdomen, then sprinkle medicine on the sutured area; hemostasis leads to survival. If mulberry bark is unavailable, raw hemp thread may be used. Do not seal the wound completely to prevent suppuration. If the wound is dry, moisten with saliva before applying medicine. For postpartum women with retained lochia, blood confusion, evil blood attacking the heart, fetal death in utero, or retained placenta leading to death, provided the heart remains warm, urgently take child's urine, mix with one qian of medicine, and expel clots resembling pig liver slices; this prevents lifelong blood wind and qi disorders.
Formula: Use four liang of pure, bright sulfur and one liang of *Huarius Shi* (Flower Porphyry Stone). Grind into coarse powder and mix evenly. Seal a clay jar with paper paste and mud, inscribe Bagua and Five Elements characters on bricks outside the jar. Surround with one cheng of charcoal. Ignite fire from below at Si-Wu hours, allowing flames to rise gradually. Add falling embers to maintain heat overnight until coals are consumed. Let cool overnight. Remove, grind finely, sieve through silk cloth to ultra-fine consistency, and store in a porcelain container. Use according to previous methods. Alternatively, seal with salt.
To treat metal weapon injuries, stop bleeding, relieve pain, ward off wind, regenerate bones and tendons, and grow flesh (from *Shenghui Fang*).
Dry *Liquidambar Formosana* root, grind, sieve finely, and apply thinly to the wound for miraculous effects.
To treat metal weapon injuries aggravated by cold-dampness, and contusions.
Soak salted plums in water. Then process aged *Calcitrum* (Duanshi, 锻石) by nine cycles of calcination and soaking, grind finely, add a small amount of *Minium* (Hongdan, 黄丹), and apply to the affected area.

This formula is miraculous. One dose directs the medicine to the injury site, repairing scars. Inspect the wound after two days; only old debris should discharge, no new foul matter. The wound dressing uses a flesh-generating powder.
Ingredients: *Sanguisorbae Radix* (Di Yu, 地榆) eight liang, washed, pounded, and sieved; one piece of thin silk. Wash the silk, boil in two dou of clear ash lye until the lye is exhausted and the silk is rotten enough to tear into pieces. Cut into 3-5 inch segments, press out lye, wash three to five times in clear water to remove all alkalinity. Return to the pot, add two dou of water and *Di Yu* powder, decoct until rotten and unrecognizable as silk. Grind in a mortar to a paste-like consistency. Divide into two doses. Administer with white japonica rice gruel on an empty stomach. After ingestion, lie supine, avoiding movement, turning, speaking. Avoid all toxic foods; consume only well-cooked hen meat and white rice. Take the second dose the next morning similarly. Carefully protect oneself for one month.
