盒内。每用热铁 摊浓软纸上。贴患处。
金丝膏 治筋骨伤损。时发疼痛不已。

槐柳枝搅匀。须慢火滴数点入水中。拭金丝状。方可。如硬再旋加油少许。软加沥青。试得
如法。却下乳没末。起锅在灰火上再用槐柳条搅数百次。又以粗帛滤膏在水盆内。扯拔如金
丝。频换水。浸二日。却用小铫盛顿。如落马坠车。于被伤疼痛处火上炙热贴透骨内为验。
连换热水。数次落之。则热血聚处。自然消散。小儿脾疳。贴患处。泻痢腹肚上贴。咳嗽背
心上贴。
金丝万应膏 治 扑伤损。外贴膏药。内服小乌沉汤加乳香。热酒调。随病上下服
之。
上根据疮肿伤折类。黑虎膏。松香八斤。如法煎熬。倾于水盆内。浸一宿。净器盛之。不
用黄丹。凡治 扑伤损。外贴膏药毕。内服小乌沉汤加乳香。热酒调。随病上下服之。
穿山甲骨贴 膏 治伤折接骨。
穿山甲骨（三两涂醋炙令黄） 桂心（一两） 当归（一两） 生地黄汁（三合） 飞
面（一匙）
附子（二两去皮脐生用） 生姜（五两） 上件药捣细罗为散。熟暖加生地黄、生姜汁。调
五钱。
令摊于绢上。乘热裹贴折痛处。急系缚。每日换之。
蓖麻膏 治打扑闪肭。
蓖麻子（去壳另研） 木鳖子（去壳另研上二味各二两） 苍耳（烧去烟一两） 雄黄

另研） 金毛狗脊（去毛半两） 上件药各为末。和匀。用半两。骨髓二两和成膏得所。每

篦子挑在手心内。醋调。量疮口大小。涂遍。用薄纸盖了。上用以木板夹定。频用醋扫。此
药兼消一切痈肿。或因酒后卧湿地。或元有寒湿。臂膊冷麻。根据前调药。涂用纸盖了。频用
扫。即愈。
神应膏 治闪扑伤折。消肿定痛。
牛皮胶（一斤捶碎） 生姜（一斤取汁） 肉桂（去粗皮一两为细末） 上先将胶放铫
内。用
水煎熔。次下姜汁在内。搅熬稀稠得所。即逐旋抄肉桂末在内。慢火熬极匀。倾入瓷罐子内。
密封贮。每月用药摊于患处。以纸花子三两重盖覆。其痛即止。渐渐平复。如药熬下多日干
硬。再于火上锅动。如太干即入生姜自然汁搅极匀。如煎用。
木鳖膏 治打扑闪肭。
木鳖子（一百枚去壳） 大鲫鱼（一枚去鳞并头尾肚肠） 上件同捣成膏。涂在痛处。
金丝膏：治疗跌打损伤及闪挫导致的筋脉拘急。缓解疼痛和湿气困扰。
配方：当归、川芎、苍术、香白芷、赤芍药、木鳖子、大黄、草乌头（各一两）；香油（半斤）；沥青（一斤）；松香（一斤）；乳香（五钱，单独研磨）；没药（五钱，单独研磨）。
制法：将前八味药材与香油一同熬煮，滤去药渣。再加入沥青和松香继续熬制，根据季节调整软硬程度：冬季稍软，夏季稍硬。乳香和没药在摊涂膏药时使用。
黄气膏：治疗跌打闪挫及损伤。
配方：苍术、赤芍药、白芷、当归、苦参、乳香、独活、川芎、天南星、草乌、没药、天花粉、木鳖子（以上药材等分）。
制法：将药材切碎。用香油二斤（冬季用量，夏季用一斤半），加入槐枝和柳枝各二十一寸，煎至药液呈黄色，煎干汁液。加入丹砂并搅拌均匀，再煮沸一两滚。加入蜂蜡，待颜色变黑且软硬适中时停火。将膏药摊在布上贴敷，每日更换两次。
乌麻膏：治疗各种痈疽发背，具有生肌止痛功效。
配方：乌麻油（一斤）；黄丹（七两）；薰陆香（即乳香，一两）；麝香（半两，细研）；松脂（一两）；黄蜡（三两）。
制法：先将油煮沸，加入松脂、薰陆香及蜡，待其融化后用棉布过滤，放回锅内。加入黄丹，用火搅拌至黑色，滴入水中成珠状，软硬适中。离火后加入麝香，搅拌均匀。装入瓷盒中，根据疮口大小，摊在布上贴敷。
黄膏：治疗各种痈疽发背，止痛生肌。
配方：黄芪、赤芍药、当归、川大黄、川芎、独活、白芷、薤白（各一两）；生地黄（二两）；麝香（二钱，细研）。
制法：将药材切碎。先用猪脂二升，煮沸三五次，加入药材煎至白芷色红。用棉布过滤去渣，加入麝香搅拌均匀，收于瓷盒中。每日涂抹或按摩疮口三四次。
抵圣雄黄膏：治疗各种恶毒疮毒。
配方：雄黄（一两，细研）；黄丹（二两）；乳香（细研）；没药（细研）；麒麟竭（细研，各一分）；密陀僧（细研半两）；麝香（细研）；丁香（末，各半分）；红芍药（切碎）；白芷（切碎）；白蔹（切碎）；不灰木（切碎，各一分）；槐柳条（各二十一寸，冬季用根，夏季用条）；乳发（如球大小，洗净，与槐柳条一起水浸一天，捞出）；油（半斤）；蜡（四两）。
制法：从芍药以下的药材，用油煎炸，直到白芷焦红。滤去药渣，加入蜂蜡及雄黄以下的八味药，不停手用柳木枝搅拌，待颜色变黑，倒入瓷盒中。根据疮口大小，涂在旧布上贴敷。
活络内炙膏：治疗闪挫导致的筋骨损伤，以及一切无名疼痛，均适宜使用。
配方：当归、黄芪、芍药、白芷、半夏、铜青、木鳖子、乳香、没药（各一两）；白胶香（一斤半）。
制法：除白胶香外，将其他药材捣成粗末。用麻油一斤同煎至黑色，滤去药渣。加入乳香、没药搅拌均匀。随后加入白胶香，煎至黑色为止。贴在白纸或布上，根据病情大小贴敷。
大红膏：治疗从高坠落、落马受伤导致的瘀血结滞、筋脉挛急、肌肉肿硬及剧烈疼痛，均有疗效。
配方：当归、赤芍药（切碎）、天台乌药（切碎，各一两）；小油（半斤，以上三味药浸泡七日七夜）；没药（一两）；乳香（二两）；琥珀（一两，以上三味共同研磨成细末）；沥清（即沥青，一斤）；黄丹（十两）。
制法：先将沥清在银石器内用慢火熬化，用铁铲搅拌至完全溶解。根据月份调整软硬程度，随时加入浸泡过药物的油。软硬适中后，加入研磨好的三种药末，搅拌均匀。用棉布过滤到净水盆中，用手持工具拉扯，直至呈锡白色。接着加入黄丹，再次拉扯使其均匀。盛入瓷盒中。使用时用热铁铲摊在浓软的纸上，贴于患处。
金丝膏：治疗筋骨损伤，时常发作且持续不断的疼痛。
配方：松脂（透明的四两）；良姜（一两，取末八钱）；乳香（三钱，单独研磨）；木鳖（四个大的，去壳研末）；川乌头（三个，锉成麻豆大小）；小油（半斤）；杏仁（一百枚，锉成豆大）。
制法：先将小油加热，放入乌头和杏仁，熬至焦黄色。取出，用棉布过滤去渣，务必洁净。再用银石器慢火熔化松脂，然后加入良姜、乳香、木鳖子末，不停手搅拌均匀。随后慢慢倒入乌头杏仁油，调整至软硬适中。再用棉布过滤到瓷盒中储存。使用时摊在纸上贴于患处。
当归膏：治疗骨折损伤破裂，疼痛不止，伤口无法愈合。
配方：当归（一两，研末）；阿魏（研一分）；绯帛（五寸，细剪）；胎头发（细剪半两）；铅丹（二两）；麻油（四两）。
制法：先将麻油煎至沸腾。接着放入头发、绯帛，煎至焦黑，滤去药渣。再次煎油，待油沸时加入铅丹、阿魏、当归，用柳枝搅拌均匀。待药膏滴入水中成珠状时，盛入瓷盒。可涂于疮口，或摊在纸上贴敷。
万金膏：配方包括蜂蜡、乱发、轻粉、油、白芨。
制法：将油中加入连根葱两根、少许头发、白芨，熬至黄色后滤去药渣。加入轻粉和黄丹，熬至黑色为止。最后加入蜂蜡制成膏药。
金丝膏：治疗跌打损伤，止痛散瘀。
制法：取嫩松脂四两，先熔化二两，倒入水中，冷却后取出。将已入水的松脂再次熔化，称为“两熟”。再将剩余的二两生松脂一起熔化，加入半两麻油。冬季加紫草。用油纸摊开，根据大小贴敷。
雄黄暖膏：接骨止痛。
配方：黄丹（四十八两）；麻油（五斤）；猪脂（二斤）；松脂（一斤）；羊脂、蜂蜡、野驼脂（各十两）；当归、乌蛇、生干地黄、续断（各二两）；连翘花、白芷、露蜂房、川乌头（去皮脐）、细辛、棘针、川芎、羌活、人粪（干者烧灰）、紫草、虎红骨、鲛鲤甲、皮、莨菪子、吴茱萸（各一两）；白蔹、紫葛、玄参、桑木耳、木通（切碎）、杏仁（汤浸去皮尖）、白术、防风、桑根白皮、赤芍药、香附子（各三分）；青绯布（各七寸，烧尽烟）；槐枝、柳枝（各四两）；葱（连根三七根）。
制法：将油、猪脂、羊脂、野驼脂在锅中煎成油。加入柳枝、槐枝、棘针、葱、紫草、露蜂房，在油中用慢火煎半天，滤去药渣。其余药材细细切碎，放入热油中用慢火煎半天。接着加入松脂、蜂蜡再煎半天。滤去药渣。将锅内的细罗黄丹炒至金紫色，趁热倒入药汁中，用柳枝不停手搅拌，待颜色变为紫色，膏药即成。离火后加入以下药物：
雄黄、沉香、丁香、木香、桂心、麒麟竭、附子（去皮脐，各三两）；乳香（四两，以上研细加入膏中）。
调匀后盛入瓷盒。凡有患者，在绢帛上用微火摊开贴敷。在骨折损伤处，每天更换一次。
腽肭脐膏：治疗骨折，接骨止痛。
配方：腽肭脐、当归、附子（去皮脐，生用）、桂心、生干地黄、莨菪子（各二两）；羌活、川芎、麒麟竭、乌蛇、乳香、木香、续断、白芷、穿山甲、皮、桃仁（汤浸去皮）、紫草、杏仁（汤浸去皮）、棘针、柳枝、槐枝、赤芍药、白蔹、防风、细辛、密陀僧（各一两）；葱白（十四茎，连根）；黄蜡、沥青（各十两）；驼脂、羊脂（各三两）；猪脂（二十两）；清麻油（五斤）；黄丹（二斤，炒紫色）。
制法：将药材细切。先用猪、羊、驼脂等在火锅中以属性火煎取清汁，滤去药渣。然后加入麻油，煎至鱼眼沸。接着加入棘针、柳枝、槐枝、葱白这四味药，煎至焦黄，滤去药渣。随即加入腽肭脐等药，以炭火养七天，用棉布过滤去渣。重新放入锅内，随时加入黄丹，用柳枝不停手搅拌，待颜色转为紫色，稀稠适中，膏药即成。盛入瓷盒中。每次用时摊在纸上贴于患处。
抵圣膏：治疗骨折，接骨散瘀血，止疼痛。
配方：麻油（二斤）；羊脂、野驼脂（各四两）；腊月猪脂（十两）；当归、乌蛇、生干地黄、连翘、续断、白芷（各二两）；白蔹、白芨、玄参、鲛鲤甲、皮、露蜂房、桑木耳、木通（各一两）。
制法：以上诸药细切，并与油脂一同煎半天，滤去药渣。随后加入以下药物：
杏仁（汤浸去皮尖）、桃仁（各二两，汤浸去皮尖）、丁香、沉香、木香、桂心、川芎、羌活、附子（去皮脐，各一两）、松脂（八两）。

黄丹（二十四两，炒紫色）、乳香（二两，末）、麒麟竭（二两，末）。
先将黄丹随时加入油中，用柳木不停手搅拌，待变紫色，即加入乳香、麒麟竭末，令其均匀。冷却后，凡有损伤骨折处，用微火摊在布上，包裹固定。
紫金膏：治疗从高坠落、落马坠车导致的腕部骨折、骨碎、筋伤。
配方：黄丹（二十四两）；麻油（二斤半）；猪脂、野驼脂（各四两）；松脂、乌蛇、白蔹、白芷、白芨、连翘、续断、紫葛、牛膝（去苗）、生干地黄、鲮鲤甲、皮、露蜂房、木通、当归（各半两）；桃仁（汤浸去皮尖）、杏仁（汤浸去皮尖）、乳香、丁香、木香、桂心、附子（去皮脐，生用）、川芎、羌活、麒麟竭（各二两）。
制法：将药材细切，加入油脂及松脂，同用慢火煎养半天，待药焦熟，用棉布过滤去渣。在干净的锅内将黄丹炒至紫色，随时倒入熟药汁，用柳木篦不停手搅拌，待变紫色，即油力尽，滴于水中成珠，入手不粘手即停火。收于瓷盒中，用纸摊开贴于痛处，每日一换。
槐子膏：治疗骨折。
配方：槐子、水杨白皮（各三两）；黄丹（二十四两，炒紫色）；麻油（二斤半）；猪脂（一斤）；蜂蜡（五两）；头发、桑根白皮、皂荚（去皮子）、天雄（去皮脐）、当归、槐白皮（各一两）；巴豆（去皮心）、雄黄（细研）、麝香（各半两，细研）。
制法：将药材细切，加入脂油中，用慢火煎养一天，焦熟后用棉布过滤去渣。随即加入黄丹至熟药汁中，用柳木篦搅拌，不可停手，待药成紫色，入水中成珠，油力尽即停火。加入雄黄、麝香和匀，收于瓷器中。凡有骨折，每日摊贴痛处，效果极佳。
薤白膏：治疗骨折、金疮，生肌。
配方：薤白（一把握量）、白蔹、赤芍药、杏仁（汤浸去皮尖，双仁）、续断、川芎、白芷、郁金、棘针（各一两）；生地黄（二两）；滑石（三两）；绯帛、青布（各一尺，烧灰）；黄丹（十四两）。
制法：除黄丹外，将药材细切。用麻油三升，先煎薤白、生地黄，后下诸药，用慢火煎半天。接着加入滑石、绯帛、布灰等，再用慢火煎半天。用棉布过滤去渣。在干净的锅内，炒黄丹至紫色，随时加入油中，用柳木篦不停手搅拌成紫色。待油力尽，滴水成珠，入手不粘手即停火。入盒中收存，用纸摊开贴于痛处，每日一换。
白金膏：治疗骨折疼痛。
配方：桑根白皮（三两）；柳白皮、槐白皮（各二两）；楼葱白（一把，切）；白芷、当归、乳香、羌活（各一两）；黄丹（十六两）。
制法：将药材细切，用麻油二斤，慢火煎油。接着加入三种白皮及葱，煎至焦黄色，滤去药渣。随即加入诸药，煎半天，再去渣。接着加入黄丹，用柳枝搅拌至黑色成膏。贮于瓷盒中。每次用时在旧布上摊开贴于患处。
乳香膏：治疗跌打闪挫、损伤，以及注气注痛。
配方：青娘子、红娘子（各一对，去头翅）；蓖麻（十五粒，去壳）；当归（不拘量）、白芷（不拘量）、山栀（一枚）、乳香（半斤）、松香（半斤）、香油（四两）。
制法：除松香外，将六味药锉入香油内煎，用柳枝搅拌，待蓖麻熟透，滤去药渣。然后将松香、乳香熔化，倾入煎药油中，挑柳枝搅拌均匀。待油滴水不散，牵拉不断时，装入瓷罐。热贴。
金丝万应膏：治疗跌打损伤，手足腹背及寒湿脚气，疼痛难忍。小儿脾疳、泻痢咳嗽，不肯服药者，宜贴敷。
配方：沥青（二斤半）；威灵仙（二两）；蓖麻子（一百枚，去皮脐研烂）；黄蜡（二两）；木鳖子（二十八枚，去壳切片研烂）；没药（各一两，别研）；乳香（一两，另研）；小油（夏一两，春秋三两，冬四两）。
制法：先将沥青同威灵仙下锅熬化，用槐柳枝搅拌，待焦黑色为度。用厚布过滤，将沥青入水盆，冷却成块，取出称重三斤净。下锅熔化，加入小油、黄蜡、蓖麻、木鳖子泥，不停手用槐柳枝搅匀。需慢火，滴数点入水中，拭出金丝状方可。如硬再加少许油，软则加沥青，试得合法后，加入乳香、没药末。起锅在灰火上再用槐柳条搅数百次，又以粗布滤膏在水盆内，扯拔如金丝，频繁换水，浸两天。用小铫盛放。如落马坠车，在被伤疼痛处火上炙热贴透骨内为验。连换热水，数次落下，则热血聚处自然消散。小儿脾疳，贴患处；泻痢贴腹肚上；咳嗽贴背心上。
金丝万应膏：治疗跌打损伤，外贴膏药，内服小乌沉汤加乳香，热酒调服，随病上下服用。
以上根据疮肿伤折类，黑虎膏，松香八斤，如法煎熬，倾于水盆内，浸一夜，净器盛之，不用黄丹。凡治跌打损伤，外贴膏药毕，内服小乌沉汤加乳香，热酒调服，随病上下服用。
穿山甲骨贴膏：治疗骨折接骨。
配方：穿山甲骨（三两，涂醋炙令黄）、桂心（一两）、当归（一两）、生地黄汁（三合）、飞面（一匙）、附子（二两，去皮脐生用）、生姜（五两）。
制法：将上述药材捣细罗为散。熟暖加生地黄、生姜汁，调五钱，令摊于绢上，乘热裹贴折痛处，急系缚，每日换之。
蓖麻膏：治疗跌打闪挫。
配方：蓖麻子（去壳另研）、木鳖子（去壳另研，以上二味各二两）；苍耳（烧去烟一两）；雄黄（一两，另研）；金毛狗脊（去毛半两）。
制法：将上述药材各为末，和匀。用半两，骨髓二两和成膏得所。每次用时用篦子挑在手心内，醋调，量疮口大小，涂遍，用薄纸盖了，上用以木板夹定，频用醋扫。此药兼消一切痈肿。或因酒后卧湿地，或原有寒湿，臂膊冷麻，根据前调药，涂用纸盖了，频用扫，即愈。
神应膏：治疗闪扑伤折，消肿定痛。
配方：牛皮胶（一斤，捶碎）、生姜（一斤，取汁）、肉桂（去粗皮一两，为细末）。
制法：先将胶放铫内，用水煎熔。次下姜汁在内，搅熬稀稠得所。即逐旋抄肉桂末在内，慢火熬极匀。倾入瓷罐子内，密封贮。每月用药摊于患处，以纸花子三两重盖覆，其痛即止，渐渐平复。如药熬下多日干硬，再于火上锅动。如太干即入生姜自然汁搅极匀，如煎用。
Jinsi Gao (Golden Thread Ointment): Treats injuries from falls and blows, as well as sprains causing tendon tension. Relieves pain and dampness.
Ingredients: Angelicae Radix (Danggui), Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Chuanxiong), Atractylodis Rhizoma (Cangzhu), Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Xiangbaizhi), Paeoniae Radix Rubra (Chishaoyao), Strychni Semen (Mubiezi), Rheum Palmatum Rhizoma (Dahuang), Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix (Caowutou) (each 1 liang); Sesame Oil (Xiangyou, 0.5 jin); Bitumen (Qingning, 1 jin); Pine Rosin (Songxiang, 1 jin); Boswelliae Carthartici Resina (Ruxiang, 5 qian, ground separately); Myrrha (Moyao, 5 qian, ground separately).
Preparation: Decoct the first eight herbs in sesame oil, filter out the dregs. Add bitumen and pine rosin, continue decocting, adjusting consistency according to season: softer in winter, harder in summer. Add Ruxiang and Moyao when spreading the ointment for application.
Huangqi Gao (Yellow Qi Ointment): Treats sprains and injuries from falls and blows.
Ingredients: Atractylodis Rhizoma (Cangzhu), Paeoniae Radix Rubra (Chishaoyao), Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Baizhi), Angelicae Radix (Danggui), Sophorae Flavescentis Radix (Kushen), Boswelliae Carthartici Resina (Ruxiang), Angelicae Pubescentis Radix (Duohuo), Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Chuanxiong), Arisaematis Rhizoma (Nanxing), Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix (Caowu), Myrrha (Moyao), Trichosanthis Radix (Tianhuafen), Strychni Semen (Mubiezi) (equal parts).
Preparation: Cut the herbs coarsely. Decoct in 2 jin of Sesame Oil (use 1.5 jin in summer). Add 21 twigs each of Sophora Japonica (Huai) and Salix (Liu). Decoct until the liquid is yellow and dry. Add Minium (Dansha), stir evenly, boil for a few minutes. Add Beeswax (Fengla) until black and consistency is appropriate. Spread on cloth and apply. Change twice daily.
Wuma Gao (Black Sesame Ointment): Treats various carbuncles and back sores; promotes tissue regeneration and relieves pain.
Ingredients: Black Sesame Oil (Wuma You, 1 jin); Minium (Huangdan, 7 liang); Frankincense (Xunluxiang/Ruxiang, 1 liang); Moschus (Shexiang, 0.5 liang, finely ground); Pine Rosin (Songzhi, 1 liang); Beeswax (Huangla, 3 liang).
Preparation: Boil the oil first. Add Pine Rosin, Frankincense, and Beeswax. Filter through cotton while hot. Return to the pot, add Minium, and stir over fire until black. Test by dropping into water; it should form beads with appropriate consistency. Remove from fire, add Moschus, and stir evenly. Store in porcelain boxes. Apply to sores according to size.
Huang Gao (Astragalus Ointment): Treats various carbuncles and back sores; relieves pain and promotes tissue regeneration.
Ingredients: Astragali Membranacei Radix (Huangqi), Paeoniae Radix Rubra (Chishaoyao), Angelicae Radix (Danggui), Rheum Palmatum Rhizoma (Chuan Dahuang), Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Xiong), Angelicae Pubescentis Radix (Duohuo), Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Baizhi), Allii Macrostemonis Bulbus (Xiebai) (each 1 liang); Rehmanniae Radix Recens (Sheng Dihuang, 2 liang); Moschus (Shexiang, 2 qian, finely ground).
Preparation: Cut herbs finely. First, boil 2 sheng of Pig Fat (Zhigao). Add herbs and boil for 3-5 cycles. Decoct until Baizhi turns red. Filter through cotton. Add Moschus, stir evenly, and store in porcelain boxes. Apply or massage onto sores 3-4 times daily.
Disi Xionghuang Gao (Disi Realgar Ointment): Treats all kinds of malignant sores and toxins.
Ingredients: Realgar (Xionghuang, 1 liang, finely ground); Minium (Huangdan, 2 liang); Boswelliae Carthartici Resina (Ruxiang, ground); Myrrha (Moyao, ground); Dragon's Blood (Qilinjie, ground, each 1 fen); Litharge (Mituo seng, ground, 0.5 liang); Moschus (Shexiang, ground); Lasi Flos (Dingxiang, powder, each 0.5 fen); Paeoniae Radix Rubra (Hong Shaoyao, cut); Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Baizhi, cut); Peucedani Radix (Bailian, cut); Non-metallic Wood (Buhui Mu, cut, each 1 fen); Sophora Japonica and Salix Twigs (each 21 cun, roots in winter, twigs in summer); Human Hair (Ruifa, ball-sized, washed clean, soaked with twigs for one day, drained); Oil (0.5 jin); Beeswax (4 liang).
Preparation: From Shaoyao downwards, fry in oil until Baizhi is scorched red. Filter out dregs. Add Beeswax and the eight ingredients below Xionghuang. Stir constantly with a willow branch until color turns black. Pour into porcelain boxes. Apply to old cloth according to sore size.
Wushe Gao (Snake Ointment): Treats chronic malignant sores, back carbuncles, cold fistulas, phagedenic sores, and knife/arrow wounds.
Huoluo Neizhi Gao (Meridian-Activating Internal Moxibustion Ointment): Treats sprains affecting tendons and bones, and all unexplained pains. Suitable for all cases.
Ingredients: Angelicae Radix (Danggui), Astragali Membranacei Radix (Huangqi), Paeoniae Radix (Shaoyao), Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Baizhi), Pinelliae Tuber (Banxia), Verdigris (Tongqing), Strychni Semen (Mubiezi), Boswelliae Carthartici Resina (Ruxiang), Myrrha (Moyao) (each 1 liang); White Kolophony (Baijiaoxiang, 1.5 jin).
Preparation: Coarsely grind all herbs except Baijiaoxiang. Decoct in 1 jin of Hemp Oil (Mayou) until black. Filter out dregs. Add Ruxiang and Moyao, stir evenly. Then add Baijiaoxiang, decoct until black. Spread on white paper or cloth according to lesion size.
Da Hong Gao (Great Red Ointment): Treats injuries from falling from heights or horses, blood stasis, tendon spasms, muscle swelling and hardness, and unbearable pain.
Ingredients: Angelicae Radix (Danggui), Paeoniae Radix Rubra (Chishaoyao, cut), Cnidii Fructus (Tiantai Wuyao, cut) (each 1 liang); Small Oil (Xiao You, 0.5 jin, soak the above three herbs for 7 days and nights); Myrrha (Moyao, 1 liang); Boswelliae Carthartici Resina (Ruxiang, 2 liang); Succinum (Hupo, 1 liang, ground together into fine powder); Bitumen (Liqing, 1 jin); Minium (Huangdan, 10 liang).
Preparation: Slowly melt Bitumen in a silver or earthenware vessel, stirring with an iron spatula until dissolved. Adjust consistency according to the month, adding the infused oil gradually. Once consistency is right, add the three ground powders, stir evenly, and filter through cotton into a basin of clean water. Pull and stretch by hand until tin-white. Add Minium, pull again to mix evenly. Store in porcelain boxes. To use, heat an iron spatula, spread thickly on soft paper, and apply to the affected area.
Jinsi Gao (Golden Thread Ointment): Treats bone and tendon injuries with persistent, recurring pain.
Ingredients: Transparent Pine Rosin (Songzhi, 4 liang); Galangal (Liangjiang, 1 liang, take 8 qian of powder); Boswelliae Carthartici Resina (Ruxiang, 3 qian, ground separately); Strychnos Nux-vomica Seed (Mubie, 4 large ones, shell removed, ground); Aconitum Carmichaelii Radix Praeparata (Chuan Wutou, 3 pieces, cut like hemp seeds); Small Oil (Xiao You, 0.5 jin); Almond (Xingren, 100 pieces, cut like beans).
Preparation: Heat the Small Oil. Add Wutou and Xingren, fry until scorched yellow. Remove and filter through cotton until very clean. Melt Songzhi slowly in a silver vessel. Add Liangjiang, Ruxiang, and Mubie powder. Stir constantly. Gradually add the Wutou-Xingren oil. Adjust consistency. Filter through cotton into porcelain boxes for storage. Spread on paper and apply to the injured area.
Danggui Gao (Angelica Ointment): Treats fractures and broken injuries with continuous pain and non-healing wounds.
Ingredients: Angelicae Radix (Danggui, 1 liang, powder); Ferulae Resina (awei, ground, 1 fen); Red Silk Fabric (Feibo, 5 cun, finely cut); Fetal Hair (Taifatou, finely cut, 0.5 liang); Lead Tetroxide (Qiandan, 2 liang); Hemp Oil (Mayou, 4 liang).
Preparation: Boil Mayou. Add fetal hair and Feibo, fry until scorched. Filter out dregs. Re-boil oil. When boiling, add Qiandan, awei, and Danggui. Stir with a willow branch until black. Test by dropping into water to form beads. Store in porcelain boxes. Apply to wounds or spread on paper.
Wanjing Gao (Ten Thousand Gold Ointment): Ingredients include Beeswax (La), Loose Hair (Luanshou), Calomel (Qingfen), Oil (You), Bletillae Rhizoma (Baiji).
Preparation: Add two green onions with roots, some hair, and Baiji to the oil. Fry until yellow, filter out dregs. Add Qingfen and Dan. Fry until black. Add wax to form the ointment.
Jinsi Gao (Golden Thread Ointment): Treats bruises and injuries; stops pain and disperses blood stasis.
Preparation: Use 4 liang of tender Songzhi. Melt 2 liang first, pour into water, cool, and remove. Remelt this "double-cooked" portion. Add the remaining 2 liang of raw Songzhi and melt together. Add 0.5 liang of Hemp Oil. In winter, add Zicao. Spread on oil paper and apply according to size.
Xionghuang Nuangao (Realgar Warming Ointment): Knits bones and stops pain.
Ingredients: Minium (Huangdan, 48 liang); Hemp Oil (Mayou, 5 jin); Pig Fat (Zhizhi, 2 jin); Pine Rosin (Songzhi, 1 jin); Sheep Fat (Yangzhi), Beeswax (Fengla), Wild Camel Fat (Yetuo Zhi) (each 10 liang); Angelicae Radix (Danggui), Elapys (Wushe), Prepared Rehmanniae Radix (Sheng Gan Dihuang), Dipsaci Radix (Xuduan) (each 2 liang); Forsythiae Flos (Lianqiao Hua), Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Baizhi), Vespa Nidus (Lufengfang), Aconitum Carmichaelii Radix Praeparata (Chuan Wutou, skin and navel removed), Asari Radix et Rhizoma (Xixin), Spina Gleditsiae (Jizhen), Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Chuanxiong), Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix (Qianghuo), Human Excrement Ash (Renfen, dry ash burned), Zicao, Tiger Bone Substitute (Hubonggu), Pangolin Scale (Jiaoli Jia), Skin (Pi), Hyoscyami Semen (Langdangzi), Evodiae Fructus (Wuzhuyu) (each 1 liang); Peucedani Radix (Bailian), Polygoni Cuspidati Rhizoma et Radix (Zige), Scrophulariae Radix (Xuanshen), Tremella (Sangmu'er), Akebiae Caulis (Mutong, cut), Almond (Xingren, soaked in water, skin and tip removed), Atractylodis Macrocephala Rhizoma (Baizhu), Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fangfeng), Mulberry Root Bark (Sanggen Baipi), Paeoniae Radix Rubra (Chishaoyao), Cyperi Rhizoma (Xiangfuzi) (each 3 fen); Blue and Red Cloth (Qingfei Bu, 7 cun each, burned to ash); Sophora Japonica Branch (Huazhi), Willow Branch (Liuzhi) (each 4 liang); Green Onion (Cong, 21 stalks with roots).
Preparation: Decoct oils and fats in a pot. Add Willow, Sophora, Jizhen, Cong, Zicao, and Lufengfang. Simmer slowly for half a day. Filter out dregs. Finely chop remaining herbs, add to hot oil, simmer slowly for half a day. Add Songzhi and Fengla, simmer another half day. Filter out dregs. Roast Huangdan until gold-purple. Add hot herb juice, stir constantly with willow branch until purple. The ointment is ready. Remove from fire. Add: Realgar (Xionghuang), Aquilariae Lignum Resinatum (Chenxiang), Lasi Flos (Dingxiang), Aucklandiae Radix (Muxiang), Cinnamomi Cortex (Guixin), Dragon's Blood (Qilinjie), Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata (Fuzi, skin and navel removed, each 3 liang); Boswelliae Carthartici Resina (Ruxiang, 4 liang, finely ground and added to ointment). Mix evenly. Store in porcelain boxes. Apply to silk cloth with mild heat. Change once daily at the fracture site.
Anagen U Gao (Anogenital Ointment): Treats fractures, knits bones, and stops pain.
Ingredients: Anorectum of Otter (Anagen Qi), Angelicae Radix (Danggui), Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata (Fuzi, skin and navel removed, raw), Cinnamomi Cortex (Guixin), Prepared Rehmanniae Radix (Sheng Gan Dihuang), Hyoscyami Semen (Langdangzi) (each 2 liang); Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix (Qianghuo), Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Chuanxiong), Dragon's Blood (Qilinjie), Elapys (Wushe), Boswelliae Carthartici Resina (Ruxiang), Aucklandiae Radix (Muxiang), Dipsaci Radix (Xuduan), Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Baizhi), Manis Squama (Chuanshan Jia), Skin (Pi), Persicum Semens (Taoren, soaked in water, skin removed), Zicao, Almond (Xingren, soaked in water, skin removed), Spina Gleditsiae (Jizhen), Willow Branch (Liuzhi), Sophora Japonica Branch (Huai Zhi), Paeoniae Radix Rubra (Chishaoyao), Peucedani Radix (Bailian), Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fangfeng), Asari Radix et Rhizoma (Xixin), Litharge (Mituo seng) (each 1 liang); Scallion White (Congbai, 14 stalks with roots); Beeswax (Huangla), Bitumen (Qingning) (each 10 liang); Camel Fat (Tuozhi), Sheep Fat (Yangzhi) (each 3 liang); Pig Fat (Zhizhi, 20 liang); Pure Hemp Oil (Qing Mayou, 5 jin); Minium (Huangdan, 2 jin, roasted purple).
Preparation: Chop herbs finely. First, render pig, sheep, and camel fats to extract clear juice. Filter out dregs. Add Hemp Oil, boil until fish-eye bubbles appear. Add Jizhen, Liuzhi, Huai Zhi, and Congbai. Fry until scorched yellow. Filter out dregs. Add Anagen Qi and other herbs. Nourish over charcoal fire for seven days. Filter through cotton. Return to pot, add Huangdan gradually, stir constantly with willow branch until purple. Adjust thickness. Ointment is ready. Store in porcelain boxes. Spread on paper and apply to lesions.
Disi Gao (Disi Ointment): Treats fractures, knits bones, disperses blood stasis, and stops pain.
Ingredients: Hemp Oil (Mayou, 2 jin); Sheep Fat (Yangzhi), Wild Camel Fat (Yetuo Zhi) (each 4 liang); Pig Fat from the twelfth lunar month (Layue Zhizhi, 10 liang); Angelicae Radix (Danggui), Elapys (Wushe), Prepared Rehmanniae Radix (Sheng Gan Dihuang), Forsythiae Flos (Lianqiao), Dipsaci Radix (Xuduan), Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Baizhi) (each 2 liang); Peucedani Radix (Bailian), Bletillae Rhizoma (Baiji), Scrophulariae Radix (Xuanshen), Pangolin Scale (Jiaoli Jia), Skin (Pi), Vespa Nidus (Lufengfang), Tremella (Sangmu'er), Akebiae Caulis (Mutong) (each 1 liang).
Preparation: Chop herbs finely. Decoct with fats and oils for half a day. Filter out dregs. Add: Almond (Xingren, soaked in water, skin and tip removed), Persicum Semen (Taoren, each 2 liang, soaked in water, skin removed), Lasi Flos (Dingxiang), Aquilariae Lignum Resinatum (Chenxiang), Aucklandiae Radix (Muxiang), Cinnamomi Cortex (Guixin), Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Xiong), Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix (Qianghuo), Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata (Fuzi, skin and navel removed, each 1 liang), Pine Rosin (Songzhi, 8 liang).
Chop finely, add to previous oil, nourish slowly for half a day until scorched yellow. Filter out dregs. Add: Minium (Huangdan, 24 liang, roasted purple), Boswelliae Carthartici Resina (Ruxiang, 2 liang, powder), Dragon's Blood (Qilinjie, 2 liang, powder). Add Huangdan to oil gradually, stir constantly with willow wood until purple. Add Ruxiang and Qilinjie powders, mix evenly. Cool. Apply with mild heat to cloth, wrap the injury.
Zijin Gao (Purple Gold Ointment): Treats injuries from falling, horse accidents, wrist fractures, bone fragmentation, and tendon damage.
Ingredients: Minium (Huangdan, 24 liang); Hemp Oil (Mayou, 2.5 jin); Pig Fat (Zhizhi), Wild Camel Fat (Yetuo Zhi) (each 4 liang); Pine Rosin (Songzhi), Elapys (Wushe), Peucedani Radix (Bailian), Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Baizhi), Bletillae Rhizoma (Baiji), Forsythiae Flos (Lianqiao), Dipsaci Radix (Xuduan), Polygoni Cuspidati Rhizoma et Radix (Zige), Achyranthes Bidentatae Radix (Niuxi, remove seed head), Prepared Rehmanniae Radix (Sheng Gan Dihuang), Pangolin Scale (Lingli Jia), Skin (Pi), Vespa Nidus (Lufengfang), Akebiae Caulis (Mutong), Angelicae Radix (Danggui) (each 0.5 liang); Persicum Semen (Taoren, soaked in water, skin removed), Almond (Xingren, soaked in water, skin removed), Boswelliae Carthartici Resina (Ruxiang), Lasi Flos (Dingxiang), Aucklandiae Radix (Muxiang), Cinnamomi Cortex (Guixin), Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata (Fuzi, skin and navel removed, raw), Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Chuanxiong), Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix (Qianghuo), Dragon's Blood (Qilinjie) (each 2 liang).
Preparation: Chop finely. Add fats, oils, and Songzhi. Simmer slowly for half a day until scorched. Filter out dregs. Roast Huangdan until purple in a clean pot. Add hot herb juice gradually, stir constantly with willow comb until purple. When oil power is exhausted and drops form beads in water without sticking to hands, stop fire. Store in porcelain boxes. Spread on paper and apply to painful areas. Change once daily.
Huai Zi Gao (Locust Bean Ointment): Treats fractures.
Ingredients: Sophora Japonica Fruit (Huai Zi), Populus Simonii Bark (Shuiyang Baipi) (each 3 liang); Minium (Huangdan, 24 liang, roasted purple); Hemp Oil (Mayou, 2.5 jin); Pig Fat (Zhizhi, 1 jin); Beeswax (Fengla, 5 liang); Loose Hair (Toufa), Mulberry Root Bark (Sanggen Baipi), Gleditsia Sinensis Fruit (Zaojiao, remove skin and seeds), Aconitum Carmichaelii Radix Praeparata (Tianxiong, skin and navel removed), Angelicae Radix (Danggui), Sophora Albiflora Bark (Huai Baipi) (each 1 liang); Croton Fructus (Badou, remove skin and heart), Realgar (Xionghuang, finely ground), Moschus (Shexiang) (each 0.5 liang, finely ground).
Preparation: Chop finely. Add to fats and oils. Simmer slowly for one day until scorched. Filter out dregs. Add Huangdan to the filtered juice. Stir constantly with willow comb until purple. Test in water for bead formation. When oil power is exhausted, stop fire. Add Xionghuang and Shexiang, mix evenly, store in porcelain vessels. Apply daily to fracture sites for excellent results.
Xiebai Gao (Leek Ointment): Treats fractures, metal wounds, and promotes tissue regeneration.
Ingredients: Allii Macrostemonis Bulbus (Xiebai, one handful); Peucedani Radix (Bailian), Paeoniae Radix Rubra (Chishaoyao), Almond (Xingren, soaked in water, skin removed, double kernel), Dipsaci Radix (Xuduan), Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Xiong), Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Baizhi), Curcumae Longae Rhizoma (Yujin), Spina Gleditsiae (Jizhen) (each 1 liang); Prepared Rehmanniae Radix (Sheng Dihuang, 2 liang); Talcum (Huashi, 3 liang); Red Silk Fabric (Feibo), Blue Cloth (Qingbu) (each 1 chi, burned to ash); Minium (Huangdan, 14 liang).
Preparation: Chop all except Huangdan. Use 3 sheng of Hemp Oil. First decoct Xiebai and Sheng Dihuang. Add other herbs. Simmer slowly for half a day. Add Huashi, Feibo, and cloth ash. Simmer slowly for another half day. Filter out dregs. Roast Huangdan until purple in a clean pot. Add to oil, stir constantly with willow comb until purple. Test in water for bead formation. Stop fire when beads do not stick to hands. Store in box. Spread on paper and apply to painful areas. Change once daily.
Baijin Gao (White Platinum Ointment): Treats fracture pain.
Ingredients: Mulberry Root Bark (Sanggen Baipi, 3 liang); Willow Bark (Liubaipi), Sophora Albiflora Bark (Huai Baipi) (each 2 liang); Scallion White (Lou Congbai, one handful, cut); Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Baizhi), Angelicae Radix (Danggui), Boswelliae Carthartici Resina (Ruxiang), Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix (Qianghuo) (each 1 liang); Minium (Huangdan, 16 liang).
Preparation: Chop finely. Use 2 jin of Hemp Oil. Simmer oil slowly. Add the three barks and scallions. Fry until scorched yellow. Filter out dregs. Add other herbs. Simmer for half a day. Filter again. Add Huangdan, stir with willow branch until black and paste-like. Store in porcelain boxes. Spread on old cloth and apply to affected areas.
Ruxiang Gao (Frankincense Ointment): Treats bruises, sprains, injuries, and qi stagnation pain.
Ingredients: Blister Beetle (Qing Niangzi), Red Blister Beetle (Hong Niangzi) (one pair each, remove heads and wings); Ricinus Communis Seed (Bimazi, 15 grains, remove shell); Angelicae Radix (Danggui, arbitrary amount); Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Baizhi, arbitrary amount); Gardenia Jasminoides Fructus (Shanzhi, one piece); Boswelliae Carthartici Resina (Ruxiang, 0.5 jin); Pine Rosin (Songxiang, 0.5 jin); Sesame Oil (Xiangyou, 4 liang).
Preparation: Except for Songxiang, chop six herbs and decoct in Sesame Oil. Stir with willow branch until Bimazi is cooked. Filter out dregs. Melt Songxiang and Ruxiang. Pour into the decocted oil. Stir with willow branch until mixed. Test by dropping oil in water; it should not scatter and should stretch without breaking. Store in porcelain jars. Apply warm.
Jinsi Wanying Gao (Golden Thread Universal Ointment): Treats bruises and injuries, cold-dampness in limbs and feet causing unbearable pain. For pediatric spleen deficiency, diarrhea, cough, and refusal to take oral medicine, apply externally.
Ingredients: Bitumen (Qingning, 2.5 jin); Clematis Radix et Caulis (Weilingxian, 2 liang); Ricinus Communis Seed (Bimazi, 100 pieces, remove skin/navel, grind to paste); Beeswax (Huangla, 2 liang); Strychni Semen (Mubiezi, 28 pieces, remove shell, slice, grind to paste); Myrrha (Moyao, 1 liang, ground separately); Boswelliae Carthartici Resina (Ruxiang, 1 liang, ground separately); Small Oil (Xiao You, 1 liang in summer, 3 liang in spring/autumn, 4 liang in winter).
Preparation: Melt Qingning and Weilingxian in a pot, stir with Sophora/Willow branches until scorched black. Filter through thick cloth. Put Qingning in water basin, cool until solid. Take out, weigh 3 jin net. Melt in pot. Add Xiao You, Huangla, Bimazi, Mubiezi paste. Stir constantly with Sophora/Willow branches. Use slow fire. Test by dropping in water; wipe to see golden threads. Adjust consistency with more oil or bitumen. Add Ruxiang and Moyao powders. Remove from fire, place on ash fire, stir hundreds of times with branches. Filter through coarse cloth into water basin. Stretch until golden threads. Change water frequently. Soak for two days. Store in small pot. For falls/crashes, heat the applied area on fire until penetrating bone. Replace with hot water repeatedly to disperse blood stasis. For pediatric spleen deficiency, apply to affected area. For diarrhea, apply to abdomen. For cough, apply to back.
Jinsi Wanying Gao: Treats bruises and injuries. External application of ointment combined with internal administration of Xiaowuchen Tang plus Ruxiang, taken with hot wine according to the location of the disease.
For wound/swelling/fracture categories, Heihu Gao uses 8 jin of Songxiang, prepared as usual, poured into water basin, soaked overnight, stored in clean vessel, without Huangdan. After external application, internally administer Xiaowuchen Tang plus Ruxiang, taken with hot wine.
Chuanshan Gu Tie Gao (Pangolin Bone Patch Ointment): Treats fractures and knits bones.
Ingredients: Manis Squama (Chuanshan Gujia, 3 liang, coated with vinegar, roasted yellow); Cinnamomi Cortex (Guixin, 1 liang); Angelicae Radix (Danggui, 1 liang); Prepared Rehmanniae Juice (Sheng Dihuang Zhi, 3 he); Fine Flour (Feimian, 1 spoon); Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata (Fuzi, 2 liang, skin and navel removed, raw); Ginger (Shengjiang, 5 liang).
Preparation: Pound herbs into fine powder. Warm up, add Sheng Dihuang Zhi and Shengjiang Zhi. Mix 5 qian. Spread on silk. Wrap while hot around the fracture/pain site. Bind tightly. Change daily.
Bimazi Gao (Castor Bean Ointment): Treats bruises and sprains.
Ingredients: Ricinus Communis Seed (Bimazi, remove shell, grind separately); Strychni Semen (Mubiezi, remove shell, grind separately) (each 2 liang); Xanthii Fructus (Canger, burn until smoke gone, 1 liang); Realgar (Xionghuang, 1 liang, grind separately); Cibotium Barometz (Jinmao Gouji, remove hair, 0.5 liang).
Preparation: Grind each herb into powder, mix evenly. Use 0.5 liang mixed with 2 liang of bone marrow to form a paste. Apply to palm, mix with vinegar. Cover the wound completely. Cover with thin paper, clamp with wooden board. Frequently sweep with vinegar. This ointment also dissipates all swellings. For arm coldness/numbness due to alcohol/wetness or pre-existing cold-dampness, apply similarly. Cover with paper, sweep with vinegar until healed.
Shenyng Gao (Divine Response Ointment): Treats sprains and fractures, reduces swelling and stops pain.
Ingredients: Bovini Corii Colla (Niupijiao, 1 jin, crushed); Ginger (Shengjiang, 1 jin, juice extracted); Cinnamomi Cortex (Rougui, remove rough bark, 1 liang, fine powder).
Preparation: Melt collagen in a pot with water. Add ginger juice. Simmer to appropriate thickness. Gradually add Rougui powder. Simmer slowly until very uniform. Pour into porcelain jar, seal tightly. Apply monthly to affected area. Cover with 3 liang of paper flower. Pain stops, gradually recovers. If ointment becomes too hard after long storage, reheat in pot. If too dry, add fresh ginger juice, mix well.
Mubie Gao (Strychnos Ointment): Treats bruises and sprains.
Ingredients: Strychni Semen (Mubiezi, 100 pieces, remove shell); Large Crucian Carp (Daji Yu, 1 piece, remove scales, head, tail, guts).
Preparation: Pound together into a paste. Apply to painful areas.
