Treats persistent vomiting.
Dingxiang (Caryophylli Flos), Haochensha (Cinnabar, refined and ground, each 6 qian), Wulingzhi (Trogopteri Dung, selecting those resembling rat droppings, washed to remove sand and stones, sun-dried, 4 qian).
First grind Dingxiang and Wulingzhi into fine powder separately, then add Chensha, and grind again until uniform. Use dog bile or pig bile as a binder to form pills the size of a chicken head. Take one pill per dose, grinding it down with a decoction of Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma) and Jupi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium).
Treats wind-dampness invading the Spleen and Stomach, causing slippery diarrhea due to organ deficiency.
Xiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Shenqu (Massa Medicata Fermentata, crushed and stir-fried), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata, processed, peel and navel removed, equal parts).
Grind the above ingredients into fine powder. Use rice paste to form pills the size of tung tree seeds. Take 30-50 pills per dose, swallowing with rice water.
The Zuo Zhuan records that when the Marquis of Chu besieged Xiao, Shen Shuzhan told Huan Wushe, "Do you have Maiqu (wheat qu)? Do you have Shanjuqiong?" Shanjuqiong is Xiong. The intent was to instruct Huan Wushe to escape into water to avoid disaster, indicating that Xiong can dispel dampness. I once added Baizhu and Fuzi to this formula to moderate its properties for treating diarrhea caused by Spleen dampness, achieving success in every case. This medicine also treats Sundxie (undigested food in stool). The Suwen states: "Wind injury in spring leads to Sundxie in summer." Sundxie refers to undigested food passing through the stool. Generally, when Wood Qi is prosperous in spring, Liver generates Wind pathogen, which invades the Spleen Meridian. In summer, drinking cold beverages while exposed to wind causes much Sundxie. This medicine is particularly suitable.
Eliminates accumulation, stops dysentery and diarrhea, treats cold pain in the heart and abdomen.

Grind the above into fine powder. Use refined honey to form pills the size of tung tree seeds. Take 30-40 pills per dose, swallowing with wine or light vinegar water. Take on an empty stomach or before meals, twice daily. During attacks, increase the number of doses as needed.
Treats cold qi flowing downward causing diarrhea.

Grind the above into fine powder. Use vinegar paste to form pills the size of tung tree seeds. Take 30-50 pills per dose, swallowing with Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium) vinegar water.
Treats entrenched cold in the intestines and stomach, causing chronic abdominal pain and diarrhea that comes and goes without fixed timing. If various hot medicines fail, one must first purge the pathogen, then regulate treatment for easier recovery. One should not fear deficiency and thereby nurture the disease.
Houpo (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex, coarse bark removed, ginger-processed), Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma, processed), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Guixin (Cinnamomi Ramulus, peel removed, not exposed to direct fire), Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix, raw, peel and navel removed, each 0.5 liang), Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, raw, 4 qian, crushed and cut, soaked in one bowl of water for half a day, squeezed to remove dregs; during decoction, add the dregs along with the liquid).
Finely chop the above ingredients. Add two and a half sheng of water, decoct until reduced to eight he. Then add the Dahuang liquid and decoct again until reduced to six he. Drink the entire amount from night until dawn. If relief is not achieved, take Ganjiang Wan (Ginger Pill) before meals as an adjunct.
