The woman's vagina protrudes with tissue resembling a fungus or lingzhi mushroom, or protruding several inches, which is called Yin Ting (uterine prolapse). This condition may be due to damage to the Bao Luo (collaterals connecting the uterus), excessive fatigue during childbirth, downward sinking of stagnant heat, or Qi deficiency leading to downward collapse. Generally, this syndrome should be treated primarily by raising and tonifying Yuan Qi (original Qi) and securing/astringing True Yin (True Yin essence). For cases of Yin deficiency with sliding/collapse, Gu Yin Jian (Solidify Yin Decoction) and Mi Yuan Jian (Secretify Origin Decoction) are suitable. For cases of Qi deficiency with sinking, Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang (Tonify the Middle and Augment the Qi Decoction) and Shi Quan Da Bu Tang (Ten Complete Great Tonifying Decoction) are suitable. For cases of Qi sinking due to excessive fatigue from childbirth, Shou Pi Jian (Longevity Spleen Decoction) and Gui Pi Tang (Restore the Spleen Decoction) are suitable. For cases of downward sinking due to stagnant heat, Long Dan Xie Gan Tang (Gentian Liver-Draining Decoction) and Jia Wei Xiao Yao San (Modified Free and Easy Wanderer Powder) are suitable.
Shui Yang Tang: Treats growths in the woman's vagina accompanied by itching and pain, radiating to the waist and abdomen. This is mostly caused by excessive sexual intercourse, unfulfilled lust, or improper conduct, resulting in injury to the Yin Hu (vaginal opening), a condition named Yin Ting.
Ingredients: Cibotium Barometz Rhizome (Jin Mao Gou Ji), Chinese Gall (Wu Bei Zi), Calcined Alum (Ku Fan), Houttuynia Herba (Yu Xing Cao), Salix Tomentum Root (Shui Yang Gen), Coptis Rhizoma (Huang Lian) (each 1 liang).
Preparation and Administration: Grind the above ingredients into fine powder. Divide into four doses. Decoct in a spouted earthenware pot. Prepare a bamboo tube with nodes removed beforehand, connect it to the pot's spout, and guide the hot steam to fumigate into the vagina or penetrate the protruding part. When the decoction cools to a warm temperature, use it to wash and irrigate the area. Continue taking internal medicines for treating Yin Ting.
Vaginal swelling in women generally belongs to the category of Yin Ting. However, protrusion is mostly due to deficiency, while swelling is mostly due to heat. If there is Qi sinking with heat, raise and clear/drain damp-heat; Qing Hua Yin (Clear Transform Infusion) is suitable, using herbs such as Bupleuri Radix (Chai Hu) and Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fang Feng). If there is Qi obstruction with heat, unblock and clear heat; Da Li Qing Yin (Great Purify Clear Infusion) and Tu Xin Yin (Extinguish Fire Infusion) are suitable. If there is Heat due to Liver and Kidney Yin deficiency, Jia Wei Xiao Yao San (Modified Free and Easy Wanderer Powder) is suitable. If there is swelling due to Qi deficiency and sinking, Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang (Tonify the Middle and Augment the Qi Decoction) is suitable. If there is swelling due to injury of the Yin Hu during childbirth, there is no need to specifically treat the swelling; simply regulate Qi and Blood, and the swelling will recede naturally when they harmonize. If the swelling is due to injury causing Qi stagnation, unrelated to Yuan Qi, fumigating and washing with Bai Cao Tang (Hundred Herbs Decoction) is excellent.
Another prescription: Treats vaginal swelling and pain. Use Zhi Ke (Aurantii Fructus Immaturus) half a jin, slice, stir-fry, wrap in cloth while hot, and apply as a hot compress to the exterior to reduce external swelling; still take a small amount, wrap in cloth while hot, insert into the vagina, replace when cool, and it will heal in no more than three applications.
Another prescription: Decoct Xiaomai (Tritici aestivi Semen), Poxiao (Natrii Sulfas), Baifan (Alumen), Wu Bei Zi (Chinese Gall), and Congbai (Allii Fistulosi Bulbus) in water to soak and wash.
Gan Ju Tang: Treats vaginal swelling. Use Ganju Miao Ye (Chrysanthemi Indici Herba) buds and leaves in any quantity, pound into a paste, pour boiling water over it to extract the juice, and use the liquid to fumigate, soak, and wash the affected area.
