Sweet, slightly cold, non-toxic. Moistens the intestines and stomach, resolves heat toxins, and supplements deficiency and emaciation. Treats regurgitation and dysphagia (obstruction of the esophagus). The viscera of cattle supplement the respective viscera in humans.
For swelling and pain of the heels, stir-fry iron until hot, add salt, and apply as a compress. (Verified Formula No. 1.)
For damp-heat jaundice, dry cow dung in the sun, form into pills, and take orally. (No. 2.)
For ulcerated smallpox sores, burn dried material to white ash and apply externally. (No. 3.)
For ulcerated sores in children, burn dried material found in the wild to ash, mix with calomel (mercurous chloride) and sesame oil, and apply externally. (No. 4.)
For abscesses that fail to heal, grind into powder, mix with egg white, apply as a seal, and change when dry. (No. 5.)
Pungent, slightly cold, toxic. Breaks up masses and stagnation, relieves thirst, treats regurgitation, and kills parasites.
