味甘，性温，无毒。主治血淋、血崩，能止消渴和反胃。治疗各种疳疮，杀灭蛔虫。将其烧成灰后用酒送服，可治疗没有脓头的痈肿。（注：一枚斑蝥有两个头。）
对于痘疮溃烂侵蚀、脓水不止的情况，取一枚斑蝥，用白矾末填满其腹部，煅烧至枯干后研成细末，外搽患处，效果神奇。（验方第一。）
口舌生疮，取五枚斑蝥，包在硼砂中放在瓦上焙焦，研成细末外搽，疗效如神。（第二。）
反胃吐食，取十枚斑蝥，煎煮汁液用来烹煮三个鸡蛋食用，酒后服用效果神奇。（第三。）
妇人绝育，取蚕茧旧纸一尺，烧成灰后用酒送服，终身不再怀孕。这是利用蚕的生殖特性。（第四。）
（另一功效）固精强阳，性交不知疲倦。焙干研末制成丸剂服用。（验方第一。）
以原蚕（即二番蚕）为良。

月经长期闭止，炒黄四两，用酒煎沸去渣后温服。（第五。）
扭伤导致关节错位，炒黄四两，绿豆粉四两炒黄，枯矾二两研成细末，加醋调和敷贴，用绢布包扎固定，多次更换。（第六。）
心痛难忍，用滚水泡一两斑蝥，去渣服用清汤，疼痛立即停止。（第七。）
与糯米同炒，去掉翅膀和足使用。马刀作为引经药，畏巴豆、丹参、空青，恶甘草、豆花。

壮年妇女因血干导致的经闭，取斑蝥二十个，大黄五钱，桃仁四十九个，用酒泛丸如豆大，每次用酒送服五到七丸，并用四物汤送下。（验方第一。）
新旧经闭，取斑蝥五个，乳香、没药、儿茶、巴豆、葱白各五分，研末制丸，用棉布包裹系好放入阴道筒中缚住，送入阴户中，燃完一炷香的时间，经血当下。未生育过的妇女不可使用。（第二。）
血疝、便毒，取斑蝥三个，南滑石三钱，共同研磨分成三份服用，空腹用白开水送下。如果服药后小便疼痛，用车前子、木通、灯芯草、猪苓、泽泻等利尿药物缓解。（第三。）
Taste: Sweet. Nature: Warm. Toxicity: Non-toxic. Indications: Treats hematuria (blood in urine) and metrorrhagia (uterine bleeding); stops polydipsia (excessive thirst) and regurgitation (vomiting of undigested food). Cures various gan ulcers; kills roundworms. When calcined to ash and taken with wine, it treats carbuncles without heads. (Note: One mite has two heads.)
For varicella ulcers eroding tissue with continuous pus discharge, take one mite, fill its abdomen with powder of Alum (Mingfan, 明矾), calcine until dry, grind into fine powder, and apply externally for miraculous effect. (Verified Formula No. 1.)
For sores in the mouth and tongue, take five mites, wrap them with Borax (Pengsha, 硼砂), roast on a tile until charred, grind into powder, and apply externally for divine efficacy. (No. 2.)
For regurgitation and vomiting, take ten mites, decoct to obtain juice, use this juice to cook three eggs, consume them, and follow with wine for miraculous effect. (No. 3.)
For female sterilization, take one chi of old paper from silkworm cocoons, calcine to ash, and take with wine to ensure lifelong infertility. This utilizes the reproductive nature of the silkworm. (No. 4.)
[Another function] Consolidates essence and strengthens yang, preventing fatigue during sexual intercourse. Calcine, grind into powder, and make pills. (Verified Formula No. 1.)
The original silkworm (the second generation) is considered superior.
Taste: Pungent, Sweet. Nature: Warm. Toxicity: Non-toxic. Actions: Dispels wind and removes dampness, dissipates blood stasis and breaks masses; stops metrorrhagia and unblocks menstruation, relieves thirst and resolves rashes. When heated after stir-frying, apply hot compresses for hemiplegia and paralysis, treating numbness in hands and feet. Stir-fried yellow and soaked in wine is also beneficial.
For hemiplegia, make two bags, steam them cooked, and alternately apply hot compresses to the affected area. (Verified Formula No. 1.)
For urticaria causing itching and sores, decoct in water for bathing, avoiding wind. (No. 2.)
For head wind accompanied by white dandruff and itching, calcine to ash, extract juice by leaching, and wash the area. (No. 3.)
For metrorrhagia, stir-fry to powder, take 3-5 qian with wine. (No. 4.)
For long-standing amenorrhea, stir-fry yellow 4 liang, decoct in wine until boiling, remove dregs, and take warm. (No. 5.)
For sprains causing joint dislocation, stir-fry yellow 4 liang, stir-fry yellow 4 liang of Mung Bean Powder (Lvdoufen, 绿豆粉), and 2 liang of Calcined Alum (Kufan, 枯矾) ground into powder. Mix with vinegar, apply as a poultice, bind firmly with silk cloth, and change frequently. (No. 6.)
For unbearable heart pain, soak 1 liang in boiling water, remove dregs, drink the clear liquid, and pain stops immediately. (No. 7.)
Stir-fry with Glutinous Rice (Nuomi, 糯米), remove wings and legs. Ma Dao (Mardao, 马刀) serves as a guiding drug. It fears Croton Seed (Badou, 巴豆), Salvia Root (Danshen, 丹参), and Azurite (Kongqing, 空青); it clashes with Licorice Root (Gancao, 甘草) and Soybean Flowers (Douhua, 豆花).
Taste: Pungent. Nature: Cold. Toxicity: Toxic. External Use: Erodes dead flesh, applies to scabies, tinea, and malignant sores. Internal Use: Breaks urinary calculi (stone strangury), extracts toxins from scrofula and carbuncles. Promotes diuresis and induces abortion; treats hernia and ghostly infections/toxins. Its toxicity can be restrained by Indigo Dye (Jianzhi, 靛汁), Coptis Rhizome (Huanglian, 黄连), Black Soybean (Heidou, 黑豆), and Glutinous Rice (Nuomi, 糯米). The treatments for Mylabris Phosphorea (Yuanqing, 芫青), Mylabris Cichorii (Tingchang, 亭长), and Mylabris Ground Beetles (Didan, 地胆) are roughly similar.
For adult women with amenorrhea due to blood dryness, take 20 Mites, 5 qian of Rhubarb Root (Dahuang, 大黄), and 49 Peach Kernels (Taoren, 桃仁). Make pills the size of beans using wine. Take 5-7 pills each time with wine, followed by Siwu Decoction (Siu Wu Tang, 四物汤). (Verified Formula No. 1.)
For new or old amenorrhea, take 5 Mites, 5 fen each of Frankincense (Ruxiang, 乳香), Myrrh (Moyao, 没药), Child's Tea (Ercha, 儿茶), Croton Seed (Badou, 巴豆), and Scallion White (Congbai, 葱白). Grind into powder and make pills. Wrap in cotton, tie securely, place inside a vaginal tube, insert into the vagina, and leave for the duration of one incense stick. Menstruation will then flow. Not to be used by women who have not borne children. (No. 2.)
For blood hernia and perineal abscess, take 3 Mites and 3 qian of Southern Talcum (Nanhua, 南滑). Grind together, divide into three doses, and take with plain boiled water on an empty stomach. If urinary pain occurs after ingestion, relieve it with Diuretics such as Plantago Seed (Cheqian, 车前), Akebia Caulis (Mutong, 木通), Juncus Effusus (Dengxincao, 灯芯草), Polyporus (Zhuling, 猪苓), and Alisma Rhizome (Zexie, 泽泻). (No. 3.)
To extract the root of a carbuncle, take 1 Mite, crush it, make a rice-grain-shaped incision on the sore with a needle, seal it, and the root will emerge. (No. 4.)
To drain pus from carbuncles and ulcers, or when broken but swollen and hard without pus. Grind Mite into powder, mix with Garlic Paste (Suantao, 蒜捣膏), apply externally. Remove the medicine once pus is discharged. (No. 5.)
