【斑蝥】
主治：溃烂毒疮。堕胎。腐蚀坏死肌肉。破除石淋（尿路结石引起的排尿困难）。通利水道。消除血瘀积块。疝气瘕聚。淋证。妊娠期间胎死腹中。（将斑蝥烧后研成粉末，用水送服）解蛊毒。轻粉中毒。沙虱毒。（服用一枚粉末，或将一枚烧研后外敷）治疗痈疽（将斑蝥研末，与蒜捣成的膏混合，加水调匀后贴敷）瘰疬。鼠瘘。恶疮（将药末外敷）疯狗咬伤。（用糯米炒黄后去掉米粒，将斑蝥研末，空腹时以酒煎温服。）误服此药中毒者，可用黄连、靛青、葱、茶、大小黑豆汁、生鸡蛋等任意一种灌服，使其呕吐，则毒解。
斑蝥膏：斑蝥十四枚，大蝮蛇一条（头尾完整，晒干），黄酒七碗。将药物放入瓶内，用糠火煨煮至剩一碗药液，去渣。每次取少许，薄涂于患处，治疗白癞（白癜风）。
【蝎附散】
主治：各种风邪引起的瘾疹（荨麻疹）、白风（白癜风）、半身不遂、口眼歪斜、言语涩滞、手足抽搐、耳聋、疝气、痔疮。妇人带下病、阴户脱出。小儿惊痫。
方剂组成：全蝎（炮制）一钱五分，附子（炮制）三钱，雄黄、朱砂（均用水飞法处理）各一钱五分，川乌（炮制）、麻黄（去节）、南星（姜制）、防风、白僵蚕（炒）各三钱，白芷、藁本各五钱。研成细末。每次服用五分，饭后用葱茶调服。治疗风邪头痛夹脑痛、痰壅呕逆、暗风眩晕、牙关紧闭、口眼歪斜、面目抽动、头项拘急、肩背牵引疼痛、四肢麻木。孕妇忌服。
又方：全蝎（烧存性）三钱，五倍子（炒）一两，枯矾一钱，麝香少许。研成细末。每次取少许吹入耳中，治疗耳内流脓。
【蝎梢丸】
全蝎（微炒）、白附子（煨裂）各五钱，硫黄、半夏各一两。研成细末，用姜汁泛丸，如麻子大。每次服用三十丸，荆芥汤送下。治疗小儿胎虚气弱、吐泻生风，或潮热肢体抽搐。
又方：全蝎七个，附子（炮制）二钱，天南星（炮制）、白附子（炮制）、木香各一钱。切碎。每次服用一钱，加生姜五片，水煎服。治疗慢脾风。
[Bruce's Blister Beetle / Mylabris]
Indications: Ulcerating toxins. Abortion. Corrosion of necrotic tissue. Breaking up lithiasis (urinary calculi causing dysuria). Promoting diuresis. Removing blood stasis and accumulation. Hernia and mass formation. Strangury. Fetal death during pregnancy. (Burn, grind into powder, and take with water.) Resolves gu poison. Resolves calomel (mercurous chloride) poisoning. Resolves sand louse poisoning. (Take one pill-sized amount of powder orally, or burn, grind into powder, and apply externally.) Treats carbuncles and sores (grind into powder, mix with garlic paste prepared by pounding, dilute with water, and apply as a plaster). Scrofula. Rat sores. Malignant ulcers (apply powder topically). Dog bites from rabid dogs. (Stir-fry blister beetles with glutinous rice until yellow, remove the rice, grind the beetles into powder, and take warm decocted in wine on an empty stomach.) For those poisoned by this medicine, administer any of the following to induce vomiting, which will resolve the toxicity: Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian), Indigo Naturalis (Dianqing), Allium fistulosum (Cong), Tea leaves, juice of Phaseolus vulgaris (Da Dou) and Glycine max (Xiao Dou), or raw chicken eggs.
Mylabris Plaster: Fourteen Bruce's Blister Beetles (Mylabris), one large viper snake (head and tail intact, dried). Seven bowls of yellow wine. Place the herbs in a bottle, simmer over chaff fire until one bowl remains, strain. Apply a small amount thinly to the affected area to treat vitiligo (Bai Lai).
[Scorpion and Aconite Powder / Xie Fu San]
Indications: Various wind-induced urticaria (Yin Zhen), vitiligo (Bai Feng), hemiplegia, deviation of the mouth and eyes, slurred speech, convulsions of hands and feet, deafness, hernia, hemorrhoids. Leukorrhea and vaginal prolapse in women. Infantile convulsions and epilepsy.
Formula Composition: Scorpio (processed) 1.5 qian, Aconitum carmichaelii Debx. Radix (processed) 3 qian, Realgar (water-floated) and Cinnabaris (water-floated) each 1.5 qian, Aconitum kusnezoffii Reichb. Radix (processed), Ephedrae Herba (devoid of joints), Arisaematis Rhizoma (prepared with ginger), Saposhnikoviae Radix, and Bombyx Batryticatus (stir-fried) each 3 qian, Angelicae Dahuricae Radix and Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma each 5 qian. Grind into fine powder. Take 0.5 qian per dose, mixed with scallion tea after meals. Treats wind-pathogen headache involving brain pain, phlegm obstruction with vomiting and reflux, latent wind with vertigo, trismus, deviation of the mouth and eyes, twitching of face and eyes, stiffness and tension of head and neck, radiating pain in shoulders and back, numbness of four limbs. Contraindicated in pregnancy.
Another prescription: Scorpio (burned to retain its properties) 3 qian, Terminalia chebula Retz. Fruit (stir-fried) 1 liang, Alum (calcined) 1 qian, Moschus (a small amount). Grind into powder. Apply a small amount insufflated into the ear to treat otorrhea (pus discharge from the ear).
[Scorpion Tip Pill / Xie Shao Wan]
Scorpio (lightly stir-fried) and Typhonii Rhizoma (baked until cracked) each 5 qian; Sulphur and Pinelliae Rhizoma Preparatum each 1 liang. Grind into powder, make pills with ginger juice, size of hemp seeds. Take 30 pills per dose, washed down with Schizonepetae Spica Decoction (Jingjie Tang). Treats infantile fetal deficiency and weak qi, vomiting and diarrhea generating wind, or tidal fever with limb convulsions.
Another prescription: Seven Scorpios, Aconitum carmichaelii Debx. Radix (processed) 2 qian, Arisaematis Rhizoma (processed), Typhonii Rhizoma (processed), and Costi Radix each 1 qian. Cut into pieces. Take 1 qian per dose, add five slices of fresh ginger, decoct in water, and take. Treats slow spleen wind (Man Pi Feng).
