This refers to objects placed on the ridge of eaves in households to suppress inauspiciousness. They consist of seven small jars stacked horizontally together in the shape of the Big Dipper, covered externally with ash and mud. For medicinal use, those that have been aged for a long time are selected. Wang Zijie's *Jiangxue Yuan Fang* records: "Ying" refers to a bottle with a small mouth. "Qi Qi" (Seven Qis) refers to the sun, moon, wind, rain, dew, frost, and snow. Many households place these seven bottles on the upper layer in front of old houses; bottles with greater age are superior. Formed by the combination of fire and earth, they are hard and sharp in nature. Relying on the seven Qis from heaven, they can penetrate bones and enter marrow, treating injuries and reconnecting severed tendons/bones. For medicinal preparation, pure steel files are used to grind the surface into powder until no sound is heard, followed by levigation (water-flotation method). *Cihui Bian* records: The "Chaotianbao" used in *Jiegu Qili San* (Bone-Setting Seven-Centigram Powder) is exactly the small bottle found under the roof tiles in households. The older, the better. One must select the part facing upwards that has absorbed the essence, grind it into powder, and use it medicinally.
Jiegu Dan (Bone-Setting Pill, *Jiangxue Yuan Fang*): Take one qian of powder from the rim of the Seven-Qi Ying jar, levigated; ancient Chinese coins are preferred, specifically red copper Banliang Wuzhu coins cast since the Qin Dynasty, though Kaiyuan Tongbao coins from the Tang Dynasty are also usable. Quench the coins in vinegar over fire seven times, grind them into dust-like powder until silent, take five fen, mix evenly with the jar powder. Each dose is seven li. First, take three qian of sweet melon seed kernels, shell them, chew thoroughly, spit out, mix with the medicine, and swallow again, followed by clear wine. This formula utilizes the Seven-Qi Ying rim and ancient coins, with the specific function of corroding necrotic tissue. Chen Cangqi stated: It can directly enter the damaged area and weld broken human bones. Sweet melon seed kernels open gastrointestinal obstruction and facilitate joint movement. Because the dosage of the mineral drug is extremely minute, this agent assists in transport after entering the stomach, acting as a guide for the mineral drug.
White Hemp Cloth
Red Cloth is made of woolen fabric, now known as velvet/fleece. It is often woven by two people using mixed sheep or goat hair. When dyed with madder root, it becomes red.
Treating Gan Sores (*Yi Bian*): Use five qian of red cloth calcined to retain its properties (ash), five qian of peaches naturally dried on trees calcined to retain their properties, and two qian five fen of Calcitrite (Lu Ganshi) calcined until yellow and quenched seven times in children's urine. Grind all into fine powder. Before application, add a small amount of borneol. Clean the sore first with pepper and scallion decoction, then apply the medicine. It will heal in three applications.
Metrorrhagia (*Yi Bian*): Liuhe San treats persistent metrorrhagia where other medicines fail; this formula stops bleeding immediately, addressing the branch in acute conditions. Ingredients include: Almond skin calcined to retain properties, Cyperi Rhizoma (Xiangfu) soaked in children's urine for three days and stir-fried until black, old red cloth calcined to retain properties, Kochiae Fructus (Difuzi) stir-fried, old palm mat calcined to retain properties, Zhuangxueyu (Menstrual Blood Residue) calcined to retain properties, crab shell calcined to retain properties, and old lotus pod calcined to retain properties. Grind all into powder. Each dose is three qian. Mix with one cup of juice from *Oxalis corniculata* (Suanjiangcao), add one cup of hot wine, and take warm on an empty stomach. Note: Initially, bleeding may appear to increase, but gradually decreases, changing from purple to red, until it stops completely. After bleeding stops, administer Shiquan Dabu Decoction (Ten-Agent Great Tonifying Decoction) for twenty doses to regulate and tonify, which will eradicate the root cause.
Zouma Gangrenous Gingivitis (Zhu's Effective Formula): Calcine yellow clam shells to retain properties, grind into powder (one qian five fen); grind Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian) into powder avoiding iron tools (five qian); calcine Trichosanthis Radix (Gualougen), Alum (Danfan), and Silkworms (Wuguchong, preferably with intact tails) on tiles to retain properties; calcine red cloth to retain properties. All above ingredients should be five qian each. Grind into powder, add two fen of Borneolum Syntheticum (Bingpian), and mix evenly. Rinse mouth with rice water first, blow the powder into the affected area several times until healed. After blowing, rinse mouth thoroughly with rice water.
Treating Umbilical Bleeding and Umbilical Dampness (*Jisheng Kuhai*): Use red cloth calcined to ash, mixed with oil for topical application. Alternatively, use fragments of five-colored cloth from tailors' shops, calcined to ash, applied as a powder.
Qingxiang San (*Wanbing Huichun*) treats Piji (masses/growths) causing gangrenous gingivitis, with ulceration and foul odor. Use Frankincense (Ruxiang), Myrrh (Moyao), Camellia Seed (Haiercha), Calomelas (Qingfen) stir-fried, Elephant Skin (Xiangpi) calcined to ash, Ivory (Xiangya) roasted until yellow, red cloth calcined to ash, Pearl (Zhenzhu) roasted until yellow, and Haiba (dried) in equal parts. Grind into fine powder and apply to the affected area. It stops pain instantly and regenerates flesh miraculously.
