*Kunyu Tushuo* records: In the country of Liweiya, there is a wild cat resembling the musk deer. It has a fleshy sac behind its navel; if the fragrance becomes too strong, it falls ill and must scrape the substance out on a rock to recover. The fragrance resembles *Styrax* oil (Suhexiang), is black in color, and treats ear diseases.
*Wuli Xiaoshi* records: Recently, individuals arriving from overseas ships brought this item, which is indeed the sea rhinoceros (Haixi). Its skin can be used as medicine. It is most effective for treating wind pathogens and invigorating blood circulation.
The sable (Diao) originates from beyond the northwest frontier, feeding on pine nuts and chestnuts, similar to the "pine dog" found in southern regions. They move swiftly, flying through tree branches. It is believed that they utilize their tails, so their strength lies in the tail. *Bencao Gangmu* only recorded that sable fur could be used to wipe the eyes to remove nebulae, omitting the efficacy of the tail; thus, this supplement adds its functions. To treat frostbite, burn sable tails until carbonized but retaining medicinal properties, grind into powder, and apply to ulcerated areas for spontaneous healing; for unbroken skin, grind old sable fur and mix with sesame oil for topical application (Yangsu Garden Verified Prescription).
*Huijiang Zhi* records: Originating from the Xifan region west of Yili. Horse milk is placed in leather bags, sealed with rope, squeezed by hand for about half an hour, and then placed in a warm spot. After one night, it becomes a product named "Qige." Drinking it feels warming and tonifies the body; daily consumption is said to reverse aging. It is hot in nature, tonifies deficiency and emaciation, increases strength, and is suitable for those who are weak or timid.
*Zhenyi Yaopin* records: Originates from Yunnan, shaped like a mouse, only about one cun long. Zhou Linyuan's *Shuying* notes: There are many fragrant mice in the western mountains of Mixian, smaller than ordinary mice, emitting a strange fragrance after death because they eat aromatic herbs in the mountains, similar to how the musk deer has a fragrant navel. Locals catch them and store them in chests; the fragrance remains even after a year. *Guihai Zhi* records: This creature is extremely small, only as wide as a spread finger, burrows into pillars, and runs on the ground as fast as an arrow. It is very effective in treating hernia.
This refers to the blood of the house mouse. *Bencao Gangmu* omitted mouse blood under the mouse category; it is supplemented here. *Benjing Fengyuan* records: Dipping teeth and gums in raw mouse blood mixed with green salt is effective.
Cat urine: Rub garlic slices on the cat's teeth to induce urination.
Feng Liantang Verified Prescription: To treat rats stealing feces, mix cat urine with mud from the bottom of a well, apply around the area, and it will heal immediately.
Emergency Prescription: Apply to scorpion stings.
If insects enter the ear and cannot exit, drip cat urine into the ear, causing immediate death of the insect.
