【释名】鳔（匹少切）。作胶名鳔胶。
藏器曰∶ （音逐题），乃鱼白也。
时珍曰∶ 音逐夷。其音题者， 鱼也。按∶贾
上，见渔人造鱼肠于坑中，取而食之。遂命此名，言因逐夷而得是矣。沈括《笔谈》云∶
一食
者是也。故宋齐丘《化书》云∶
。可治为胶，亦名 胶。诸鳔皆可为胶，而海渔多
粘物甚固。此乃工匠日用之物，而记籍多略之。
鳔
【气味】甘，平，无毒。
【主治】竹木入肉，经久不出者。取白敷疮上四边，肉烂即出（藏器）。止折伤血出不
止（时珍）。
【附方】新一。
折伤出血但不透膜者∶以海味中咸白鳔，大片色白有红丝者，成片铺在伤处，以帛缚之，
即止。（《普济方》）
鳔胶
【气味】甘、咸，平，无毒。
【主治】烧存性，治妇人产难，产后风搐，破伤风痉，止呕血，散瘀血，消肿毒。伏
砂（时珍）。
【附方】新十一。
产难∶鱼胶五寸，烧存性为末。温酒服。（《皆效方》）
产后搐搦强直者∶不可便作风中，乃风入子脏，与破伤风同。用鳔胶一两，以螺粉炒焦
，去粉为末。分三服，煎蝉蜕汤下。（《产宝》）
产后血晕∶鳔胶烧存性，酒和童子小便调服三、五钱良。（《事林广记》）
经血逆行∶鱼胶切炒，新绵烧灰。每服二钱，米饮调下，即愈。（《多能鄙事》）
破伤风搐口噤强直者∶危氏香胶散∶用鱼胶（烧存性）一两，麝香少许，为末。每服二
钱，
苏木煎酒调下。仍煮一钱封疮口。《保命集》∶治破伤风，有表证未解者。用江鳔半两（炒焦），

【释名】鳔（读音同“匹少”）。制成胶状物称为鳔胶。
陈藏器说：（音同“逐题”），是指鱼白（鱼鳔）。
李时珍说：读作“逐夷”。读作“逐题”的，是鲟鱼。按：贾上记载，看见渔人在坑中制作鲟鱼肠，取出来食用。于是以此命名，意思是因追逐鲟鱼而获得此物。沈括在《笔谈》中说：一食……是正确的。所以宋齐丘在《化书》中说：……。可以加工制成胶，也叫做胶。各种鱼鳔都可以制成胶，而海鱼鳔多粘附物体非常牢固。这是工匠日常使用的物品，但记录书籍大多忽略它。
【气味】甘味，平性，无毒。
【主治】竹木刺入肌肉，长久不能排出的情况。取白色的鳔敷在疮口四周，肌肉腐烂后刺即可排出（陈藏器）。制止折伤导致的出血不止（李时珍）。
【附方】新增一方。
折伤出血但未穿透膜层的：选用海味中咸味的白色鳔，大片、色白带有红丝的，成片铺在受伤处，用布帛包扎固定，出血即刻停止。（出自《普济方》）
【气味】甘味、咸味，平性，无毒。
【主治】烧至存性（保留药物炭化后的部分性质），治疗妇女难产，产后风邪引起的抽搐，破伤风痉挛，止住呕血，消散瘀血，消肿解毒。伏砂（李时珍注）。
【附方】新增十一方。
难产：鱼胶五寸，烧至存性研为末。温酒送服。（出自《皆效方》）
产后抽搐强直：不可立即当作中风治疗，这是风邪侵入子宫，与破伤风相同。用鳔胶一两，用螺粉炒焦，去掉螺粉研为末。分三次服用，煎蝉蜕汤送下。（出自《产宝》）
产后血晕：鳔胶烧至存性，用酒和童子小便调和服用三、五钱，效果良好。（出自《事林广记》）
经血逆行：鱼胶切块炒制，新棉烧成灰。每次服用二钱，米饮调下，即可痊愈。（出自《多能鄙事》）
破伤风导致牙关紧闭、抽搐强直：危氏香胶散：用鱼胶（烧至存性）一两，麝香少许，研为末。每次服用二钱，苏木煎酒调下。同时煮一钱药末封敷疮口。《保命集》：治疗破伤风，有表证未解的情况。用江鳔半两（炒焦），蜈蚣一对（炙烤后研细），研为末……
呕血不止：鳔胶长八寸，宽二寸，炙黄，刮取二钱，用甘蔗节三十五个，取汁调服。（出自《经验方》）

[Names] Biao (pronounced like "pi shao"). When processed into glue, it is called Biao Jiao (Fish Mucus Glue).
Chen Cangqi stated: (Pronounced like "zhu ti"), refers to Yu Bai (fish swim bladder).
Li Shizhen stated: Pronounced "zhu yi". The one pronounced "zhu ti" belongs to the sturgeon. According to records: Jia Shang observed fishermen preparing sturgeon intestines in a pit and consuming them. Hence the name, indicating it was obtained by pursuing the sturgeon. Shen Kuo in *Bi Tan* noted: ...is correct. Thus, Song Qiqiu in *Hua Shu* stated: ... It can be processed into glue, also known as [Glue Name]. All types of fish swim bladders can be made into glue, but those from sea fish are particularly adhesive and hold objects firmly. This is an item used daily by craftsmen, yet often omitted in recorded texts.
[Properties and Flavor] Sweet, neutral nature, non-toxic.
[Indications] For bamboo or wood splinters embedded in flesh that have remained for a long time without being expelled. Take the white part of the swim bladder and apply it around the wound; when the flesh softens/rots, the splinter will be expelled (Chen Cangqi). To stop bleeding caused by fractures or injuries that does not cease (Li Shizhen).
[Prescriptions] One new prescription.
For traumatic injury with bleeding but without penetration through the membrane: Select salty white swim bladder from seafood, specifically large pieces that are white with red veins. Lay these pieces flat over the injured area and bind tightly with cloth/bandages. Bleeding will stop immediately. (*Puji Fang*)
[Properties and Flavor] Sweet, salty, neutral nature, non-toxic.
[Indications] Calcined to retain its medicinal properties (charred but retaining essence), treats difficult labor in women, postpartum wind-induced convulsions, tetanus (broken-wind spasm), stops hematemesis (vomiting blood), disperses blood stasis, reduces swelling and detoxifies. [Prescriptions] Eleven new prescriptions.
Difficult Labor: Fish glue 5 cun, calcined to retain properties, ground into powder. Taken with warm wine. (*Jie Xiao Fang*)
Postpartum Convulsions and Rigidity: Do not immediately treat as wind-stroke; this is wind entering the uterus, similar to tetanus. Use 1 liang of Biao Jiao (Fish Mucus Glue), stir-fried with snail powder until scorched, remove powder and grind into fine powder. Divide into three doses, taken with decoction of cicada slough. (*Chan Bao*)
Postpartum Blood Fainting: Biao Jiao calcined to retain properties, mixed with wine and urine from a young boy, taken 3-5 qian. Effective. (*Shi Lin Guang Ji*)
Retrograde Menstrual Flow: Fish glue cut and stir-fried, fresh cotton wool burned to ash. Take 2 qian per dose, mixed with rice water drink. Cures immediately. (*Duo Neng Bi Shi*)
Tetanus with Jaw Locking, Convulsions and Rigidity: Wei's Xiang Jiao San (Fragrant Glue Powder): Use 1 liang of fish glue (calcined to retain properties), a small amount of Moschus (Musk), ground into powder. Take 2 qian per dose, mixed with decoction of Sappanwood wine. Also, boil 1 qian of the powder to apply externally to seal the wound. *Bao Ming Ji*: Treats tetanus where exterior syndrome has not resolved. Use 0.5 liang of Jiang Biao (River Fish Bladder) (stir-fried until scorched), 1 pair of Wugong (Centipede) (roasted and ground), ground into...
Persistent Hematemesis: Biao Jiao 8 cun long, 2 cun wide, roasted until yellow, scrape off 2 qian. Mix with juice extracted from 35 segments of sugarcane stem. Taken orally. (*Jing Yan Fang*)
