味甘、辛,温,无毒。主治心腹咳逆邪气,补不足;女子风寒在子宫,绝孕十年无子;

[Shihuo (Talcum)]
The flavor is sweet, the nature is cold to great cold, and it is non-toxic. It primarily treats body heat, diarrhea, difficulty in lactation for women, strangury or urinary retention, promotes urination, sweeps away accumulated cold and heat pathogens in the stomach, benefits essence and qi, unblocks the fluids of the nine orifices and six fu organs, removes lingering stagnation, relieves thirst, and makes the interior feel clear and open. Long-term use lightens the body, increases resistance to hunger, and prolongs life. It is also known as Yeshi (Liquid Stone), Gongshi, Tuoshi, and [missing character]shi. It grows in the valleys of Zheyang, on the northern slopes of Mount Tai, or in Baishan north of Yexian, or in Juan Mountain. It can be harvested at any time. (Shiwei [Pyrrhosiae Herba] acts as its guiding/enhancing herb; it is incompatible with Cengqing [Azurite].)
Shihuo is pure white in color. The *Xianjing* (Immortal's Classic) uses it to make mud/paste. There is also Lengshi (Cold Stone), which is small greenish-yellow; its nature is also cold and slippery, and it can also be used to iron oily clothes. Currently, it is produced in Xiangzhou, Shian Commandery, and other places. When first extracted, it is soft like mud, but over time it gradually becomes hard. People often use it as lighting vessels in tombs and for dissipating heat, but it is not formally included in prescriptions. Zheyang County previously belonged to Nanyang Commandery and was established during the reign of Emperor Ai of Han. The commanderies and counties annotated in the *Benjing* (*Shennong Bencao Jing*) must reflect the situation of the Later Han dynasty. Yexian belongs to Donglai Commandery, Qingzhou; Juan County belongs to Rongyang, Sizhou. (From *Xinxiu Bencao* p.23, *Daguan Bencao* Vol.3, *Zhenghe Bencao* p.88)
[Zhiyingshi (Fluorite)]
The flavors are sweet and pungent, the nature is warm, and it is non-toxic. It primarily treats cough and rebellious qi in the heart and abdomen caused by pathogenic factors, and tonifies deficiencies; it treats infertility for ten years in women due to wind-cold invading the uterus; it treats upper rebellious qi, heart and abdominal pain, cold-heat pathogenic factors, and stagnant qi; it tonifies deficiency of heart qi; it calms palpitations and fright, stabilizes the soul and hun, fills the lower jiao, stops xiaoke (wasting-thirst syndrome), eliminates long-standing cold in the stomach, disperses carbuncles and swellings, and gives the person a lustrous complexion. Long-term use warms the middle jiao, lightens the body, and prolongs life. It grows in the valleys of Mount Tai. It can be harvested at any time. (Changshi acts as its guiding/enhancing herb; when combined with Fuling [Poria], Renshen [Ginseng Radix], and Shaoyao [Peony Root], it jointly treats stagnant qi in the heart; when combined with Tianxiong [Aconiti Lateralis Radix Preparata] and Changpu [Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma], it jointly treats Huoluan [cholera-like disorder]. It fears Bianqing [Magnetitum] and Fuzi [Aconiti Lateralis Radix Preparata]; it does not desire to be combined with [missing character]jia, Huanglian [Coptidis Rhizoma], and Maijujiang [possibly a specific mineral or herb].)
Currently, the best grade is from Mount Tai, which is deep-colored and translucent, with roots underneath. The next best comes from Baoling Mountain, which is also good. There is also Nancheng stone, which has no roots. There is also Qingmian stone, which is dark black but not translucent. There is also Linyi stone, which necessarily has an object inside resembling an eye. Wuxing stone has only purple color on all four sides and lacks luster. Kuaiji Zhuji stone resembles pomegranate seeds in shape and color. Previously, they were all used indiscriminately. Now, manufacturers of pills and powders select them, considering only the stone from Mount Tai to be superior. Those from other places can be used to make pills, wine infusions, or pastes. The *Xianjing* does not formally use it, but it is valued by secular prescriptions. (From *Xinxiu Bencao* p.25, *Daguan Bencao* Vol.3, *Zhenghe Bencao* p.92)
