[Lu Feng Fang (Exposed Beehive)]
Bitter, salty, neutral in nature, toxic. Indicated for convulsions and epilepsy (Jing Xian Chou Yuan), pathogenic cold-heat, manic-depressive disorder (Dian Ji), ghost essence and gu poison, intestinal hemorrhoids; roasting over fire is beneficial.

(Incompatible with Gan Jiang [Dried Ginger], Dan Shen [Salvia Miltiorrhiza], Huang Qin [Scutellaria Baicalensis], Shao Yao [Paeonia Lactiflora], and Mu Li [Ostrea Shell].)
This beehive is mostly found inside tree trunks and in the ground. The "Exposed Beehive" mentioned here should refer to those wrapped in eaves of houses and among branches. This might be a distant reference, leaving the reason unexplained. (Da Guan Ben Cao Vol. 21, Zheng He Ben Cao p. 424)

[Zha Chan (Grasshopper Cicada)]

The character "Zha" is pronounced as "Ze", referring to Han Chan (Winter Cicada). " " refers to the female cicada, which cannot sing. There are many types of cicadas. Zhuangzi said: "Hui Gu does not know spring and autumn," referring to the small purple-green ones seen in April and May. However, Li Sao says: "Hui Gu cries chirping, year-end without leisure," referring to Han Chan, which cries shrilly in September and October; those that cry in February are called "Mu", resembling Han Chan but smaller; those that cry in July and August are called " ", green in color.
It is correct that this type grows on willow trees. Shi Jing says: "Crying Tiao," large and black, like a hunchbacked man, simply picked up, eaten by ancients. Thus, Li Ji mentions Que , Fan of Tiao, Fan has a crown, Chan has , also referring to this Tiao. This Tiao also cries in May. Worldly saying says it does not cry in May, Ying
