Qianjin Fang (Prescriptions Worth a Thousand Gold): Treats women experiencing bleeding during sexual intercourse. (By warming and nourishing the yin, the yang qi can relax and accommodate; since cold causes qi stagnation, injury results.)
Guixin (Cinnamon Twig), Fulonggan (Dragon's House Liver / Hematite) (each 5 qian).
Grind the above into powder, take one fangcun bi (square-inch spoonful) with wine, discontinue when cured.
Another prescription: Huanglian (Coptis Rhizome) (6 fen), Niuxi (Achyranthes Root), Gancao (Licorice Root) (each 4 fen; note: 1 fen equals 2.5 qian). Finely chop the herbs, add 4 sheng of water, decoct to obtain 2 sheng of liquid for washing. Apply three to four times daily until cured.
Another prescription: Burn Luanku Fa (Hair from tangled masses) and Qingpi (Green Tangerine Peel) to ash, and apply externally.
Another prescription: Wrap Shuai Ai (Prepared Mugwort) tightly into a ball, then wrap it in cotton cloth and insert into the vagina.
Jiyan Fang (Verified Prescriptions): Treats women whose yang pathway is violated during intercourse or injured by other objects, resulting in continuous dripping blood. Take Fu Di Mo (Soot from the bottom of a cauldron) and Duan Hulu (Broken Gourd) to prepare medicine for insertion. (With what substance should it be mixed and applied?)
Another prescription: Treats virgins experiencing continuous bleeding due to violation of the yang pathway during intercourse. Use burned hair and crushed green cloth powder as an external application. Another method uses Ji Guan Xue (Rooster Comb Blood). Another method applies Chishizhi Powder (Red Halloysite Powder). Another method applies dry Wubeizi Powder (Galla Chinensis Powder), which is also effective.
Xiaohu Jiatong Fang (Little Household Marriage Pain Formula) [Note: The cause of "marriage pain" treated by this formula is insufficient liver yang; thus, liver yang should be nourished, as yin governs closure and yang governs opening.]
Gancao (Licorice Root), Shengjiang (Fresh Ginger) (each 5 fen), Baishaoyao (White Peony Root) (4 fen), Guixin (Cinnamon Twig) (2 fen).
Chop the herbs, add 2 sheng of water, boil for three to four boils, and take orally.
Another prescription: Burn Haipiaoxiao (Cuttlefish Bone) into powder, mix with wine, take one fangcun bi per dose, three times daily.
Another prescription: Xiaomai (Wheat) and Gancao (Licorice Root) in equal proportions, decoct in water for washing; highly effective.
Jiyan Fang (Verified Prescriptions): Treats women suffering from heavy limbs and headache upon inhalation/exhalation after intercourse with their husband. (Intercourse with the husband implies excessive lust, perhaps indicating insufficient liver yin? This formula both tonifies liver yin and strengthens liver qi, yielding effective results upon consumption.)
Shengdihuang (Rehmannia Root), Shaoyao (Peony Root), Gancao (Licorice Root), Xiangchi (Prepared Soybean), Congbai (Scallion White), Shengjiang (Fresh Ginger).
Add 7 sheng of water, decoct to obtain 2.5 sheng, divide into three doses. Do not re-decoct. Avoid sexual intercourse.
Sangbaipi Tang (Mulberry Bark Decoction): Treats women suffering from severe headache and nausea/chest oppression after intercourse with their husband. (This is a formula for warming the middle jiao; while suitable for treating nausea and oppression, its use of Sangbaipi for headache is difficult to explain.)
Sangbaipi (Mulberry Root Bark), Ganjiang (Dried Ginger), Guixin (Cinnamon Twig), Dazao (Jujube).
Chop the herbs, add 1 dou of wine, boil for three to four boils, strain, and take warm in divided doses. Dress appropriately to avoid sweating.
