Kui (Malva Verticillata) is now found everywhere. Ancients cultivated it as common food, but nowadays few plant it. The seedling grows three to four chi high; stems and leaves resemble Shukui (Hibiscus Mutabilis) but are finer, with extremely small flowers. By tradition, some mistake Qiankui (Money Plant/Mallow) for Kui.
Sweet and neutral. There are two types. Ideally, use those two chi five or six cun high. Those that are too long or too short are useless. Those growing under walls or trees should not be used.
