For cases where worms eat away the lower orifice (anus) extending to the intestines with traction: Take one green-backed frog with long thighs, and one qian of chicken bone. Burn them to ash, mix evenly, and insufflate into the lower orifice, ensuring deep penetration. This has proven effective repeatedly.
Another prescription: Decoct fresh mugwort (Ai Ye) and root bark of Toosendan tree (Chuanlian Gen) for fumigation and washing.
Treatment method: Take one child's bone, place it in a clay bowl, calcine over chaff fire, then grind into an extremely fine powder; use only 1 fen. Grind rosin (Songxiang) into an extremely fine powder; use 5 fen. Take dog spine hairs (Gouji) without limit, bake on a tile until preserved character (carbonized but retaining efficacy), grind into an extremely fine powder; use only 1 qian. Soak elephant skin (Xiangpi) 1 qian until soft, soak in hot wine, bake on a tile, grind extremely fine. Use alum (Kufan) 3 fen. Mix all ingredients evenly and grind into an extremely fine powder. First, apply anesthetic medicine to the cleft lip. Then, prick the skin at the defect site with a small sharp knife. Collect the flowing blood in a porcelain dish, use this blood to mix with the aforementioned powdered medicines. Immediately use an embroidery needle threaded with silk to pin the two sides of the defective skin together. Finally, apply the blood-mixed medicine. For three to five days, avoid crying and laughing loudly, and prevent exposure to wind and sneezing. Consume only thin porridge daily. Wait until muscle grows and fills the gap, then remove the silk threads; the lip will be restored.
Oral and ocular deviation is caused by disease in the blood vessels. It can be distinguished as tendon disease or vessel disease, mostly belonging to the Stomach Earth (Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian). The Classics state: When the tendons of the Foot-Yangming and Hand-Taiyang meridians are tense, the eye deviates; if tense, one cannot look straight ahead. This is the tendon disease of Stomach Earth causing deviation. It also states: The Foot-Yangming meridian flanks the mouth and circles the lips; this is also the tendon disease of Stomach Earth causing deviation. Because the mouth and eyes move frequently, wind is generated; because the nose and ears remain still, wind subsides. However, tendons are nourished by blood, and vessels are the mansion of blood. The Classics say: If vessel qi does not nourish, tendons become tense. Additionally, when pathogenic factors invade due to deficiency, cold invasion causes tendon tension, pulling the cheek, mouth, and eye into deviation; wind-heat invasion causes tendon relaxation and laxity, or dryness and withering leading to traction, all resulting in deviation. However, if Qi and Blood are healthy, heat may not cause laxity, and cold may not cause tension. Cold and heat are mostly caused by Qi and Blood deficiency. Therefore, one should not assume that left-sided deviation implies left-cold/right-heat, or right-sided deviation implies right-cold/left-heat. Wherever there is tension, there is a deficiency of Qi and Blood. In summary, cold represents pathogenic evil, while heat represents Qi abnormality. Areas where Qi fails to reach are considered cold and diseased. Can it be that one meridian is simultaneously attacked by cold and heat pathogens, or one disease presents with distinctly different cold and heat Qi? Understanding this clarifies how various diseases reside in one person. Although symptoms may be complex, the principle ultimately lies in Qi.
The *Ling Shu* states: The tendons of the Foot-Yangming, specifically those in the cheek, contract and pull when cold, and relax when hot. Thus, left-cold/right-heat leads to left-tension and right-laxity, while right-cold/left-heat leads to right-tension and left-laxity, due to the failure of Yang Qi to circulate freely. The Classics say: Where pathogenic factors gather, Qi must be deficient. Hemiplegia and deviation, whether on the left or right, result from uneven blood vessel circulation and unbalanced Qi. Treatment should focus on tonifying Zheng Qi (Upright Qi), promoting Zheng Qi, and dispersing Wind Qi, so that balanced Qi allows Wind Qi to flow smoothly.
