通治痛风主方（《活人录》）
当归（三钱） 秦艽（二钱） 防风（一钱五分） 川芎 羌活（各一钱） 车前子 黄芩 枳壳（各五分）
水煎。午后临睡服。（治痛不外乎顺气，治风必先于凉血，气顺则血活而脉络通，血凉则火清而风息，
痛则不治而自治。如重感风寒，使内之湿火郁而不散者，加羌活、桂枝各五分，去黄芩、车前，服芎苏散。如外
复感暑湿，加苍术一钱五分，白术、泽泻、黄柏各一钱，去川芎、黄芩、枳壳，服胜湿丹。血脉凝闭不通而痛甚
者，加红花一钱五分，桃仁一钱，桂枝五分，去黄芩、车前，服祛风越婢酒及活络丹。病久血枯者，加牛膝一钱
五分，制首乌二钱，服活络丹，或加味史国公药酒。病久气虚者，加白术三钱，人参一钱五分，减当归一钱五
分，去黄芩、枳壳，服祛风越婢酒，兼加味虎潜丸。如劳倦内伤及房劳体虚之人，加人参三钱，知母一钱五分，
牛膝一钱，去羌活、黄芩，服滋阴百补丸，及滋阴百补酒，或加味史国公药酒。如寒湿风湿之痰，其脉濡软而
微滑者，加白术一钱五分，半夏二钱，陈皮、苍术各一钱，去当归、黄芩、车前，服祛风越婢酒，或加味史国
公药酒，及四妙散、活络丹、 丸。血虚血热风热内盛者，服凉血省风药酒，若大便秘结淋利者，服搜风顺
气丸。）
痛风药酒方（钱青抡）。（昔窦中书方中年患此，四肢不举者五载，累医罔效，偶遇李让有此秘方，修
合服之，半月身轻自清，病遂除，因求此方。《江西淮王传》）
鳖甲（七轮者醋炙） 甘菊花（净） 防风 杜仲 人参 甘枸杞 粉丹皮 石菖蒲（去芦
根） 秦艽 虎骨（酒炙） 川羌活 油松节 牛蒡子（各一两） 白术 黄 远志（去心，甘草
汁煮） 山萸肉 桔梗 苍耳子 僵蚕 白茯苓 牛膝 川萆 石蟹 天花粉 熟
地明天麻 白芍 白附子 独活 天南星（姜汁泡） 荆芥 广陈皮 白芷 茅苍术（
米泔浸炒） 川芎 川当归（各五钱）
用无灰酒二斗浸之，春夏二七，秋冬三七，封固无泄气。每日空心三次，各饮
一杯。药渣焙干研细，好酒和丸如梧桐子大。每服七十丸，空心好酒送下。
骨节风疼。（《赤水玄珠》）
大川乌（三枚，生用） 全蝎（二十一个，生用） 生黑豆（二十一粒） 地龙（去泥土、酒洗净，五钱）
上为末。入麝香一分，糯米饭和丸绿豆大，每服七丸，夜卧酒下微出冷汗，一二服便瘥。
五汁膏（抄本。）
白萝卜 姜 葱 韭（各五斤，捣汁） 菜子（半斤，取汁）
五汁煎成膏，滴水成珠，外加麻油、东丹、锻石收炼，如汁多加多，汁少加少，做
膏药贴，不拘久近，立时见效。
左经丸（《赤水玄珠》）治手足不随，筋骨诸痛，遍身风疮。
大草乌（去皮、脐） 木鳖子（去壳） 白胶香 五灵脂（各三两五钱） 斑蝥（五枚，去头、足、翅，醋炒）
上磨细。用生黑豆去皮为末一升，醋和丸如芡实大。每服一丸，温酒磨下，治
筋骨痛未经针刺者，三五服见效。（此方曾医一人，软瘫风不能行，不十日见效，大为奇妙。）
风气痛肌肤不能近衣被者。（《纲目》）
生姜，葱（各半斤，捣汁熬稠。）
加水胶三条切断，投下熔化搅匀，敷痛处，用桑皮纸大针戳眼，扯碎粘贴，其痛即止。
又方
老姜 凤仙叶 川椒末 香油
共捣擦痛处，或凤仙子煎汤洗，亦效。
又方
鱼胶（四两） 姜汁（一碗）
同熬膏摊布上贴痛处，即止。
痛风遍身骨节走痛。
油松节 晚蚕砂
浸酒煮饮，每日常服。
风湿臂痛。
秦艽（一钱） 全当归 防风（各二钱） 草 木瓜 海风藤 白茄根（各三钱） 麻黄（五钱）
酒二斤，砂锅内煎四五滚，在臂上熏洗，每日二次，不可忽略。（钱青抡云∶家慈尝患
此证，视试立效，后治他人，无不附应。）
又方 白凤仙花浸烧酒饮亦效。
周鹤仙黄 汤
嫩黄 （三两） 白术（二两） 生地黄 元参（各一两） 甘菊花（五钱）
水煎服。服一剂少止痛，二剂痛除，三剂痊愈，加防风一两更妙。
风痰麻木风湿药酒（江仍度）
大生地（十两） 酸枣仁（炒） 当归身 海桐皮 羌活 川萆 （风湿加此味，各二两） 地
骨皮 川牛膝（各一两五钱） 桂枝 甘草（各五钱）
火酒二十斤，窨七日后即可服。每饮二三小杯，不宜过多，久服壮筋骨，健步履，并治筋骨疼痛。
万应膏（江仍度。）
净松香（十斤） 生大黄 黄柏 甘草 苦参（各二两） 苍术（一两） 生姜汁 葱汁（各二斤）
共入锅内熬化，升尽水气滤清，复入净锅内，入真麻油三斤，熬至滴水不散，即火候已到，用棍搅匀。预将 缸一
只，贮
水大半缸，将水把缸周遭泼湿，以免膏药沾在缸上，贮水已毕，即将麻布一方，将
膏过入缸内，略温复取起，以手捏去水头，再入锅内化开，加去油乳香、没药各六两，
黄蜡八两，熬化搅匀撤去火，用筛加研细百草霜四五两，旋入旋搅，又以麻布过入
水内，捏成团，平日俱浸水中，用若干只取若干，顿化摊贴，一切痛风湿痹，麻木
痛楚，筋骨疼痛如神。如膏老量加麻油化匀摊用可也。
除湿固本膏（袁鼎臣卖三两一张）。贴一切风湿，筋骨疼痛，立刻止痛。
人参（另研） 大熟地 黄 五加皮（去粗皮，各五钱） 大附子（去皮、脐） 当归 川续断
川牛膝 尺桂（如无，浓桂代，各三钱） 杏仁（去皮、尖） 白芷（去梢，各一钱五分）
上药同麻油一斤，熬至药枯，滤清去渣，将油复入净锅内，入人参末文火熬至
滴水成珠不散，入炒锅飞黄丹七两收之，倾入水内，拔去火毒，瓷罐密贮，临用摊贴。
临河风气药酒
当归身（一两五钱） 白芍药 薏苡仁 生地（各一两） 香附 杜仲（各八钱） 虎骨（酥炙）
秦艽（各六钱） 真川芎（七钱） 川续断 羌活 五加皮（各五钱）
上用头生酒三十斤，封固煮三炷香，放土地上退火气一七，每晚温饮一杯。
紫金锭 治周身风湿，筋骨疼痛，三服痊愈。
罂粟壳（净末，六两） 闹阳花（火酒拌，晒干） 麻黄（去节炒，各四两） 自然铜（ ，一两五钱） 寒
水石（ ，一两） 草乌（黑豆同煮，去豆） 乳香（去油） 全蝎（水洗焙干） 川芎 当归 白芷 甘草（各五钱）
上为细末，瓷瓶密贮，或用陈老米糊和捣为饼，重二三钱阴干密贮，每用量人
老弱壮实，用酒磨化三四五分为率，热酒和服，取汗避风要紧。
走注风毒疼痛，小芥子研末，和鸡子清调敷。
诸般皮里痛 何首乌末用生姜汁调成膏，敷痛处，以帛裹用，火烘鞋底熨之。
太乙神针《（集验》）治一切痛风寒湿，筋骨疼痛。
人参 麝香（各四两） 山羊血（二两） 广三七（八两） 千年健 肉桂 乳香 苍术 小
茴香 钻地风 真川椒 没药（各一斤） 防风 蕲艾（各四斤） 穿山甲（八两）
共为细末。用棉纸一层，高方纸二层，宽裁一尺二寸五分，长裁一尺二寸，将药
薄薄铺匀在上，一针约用药七八钱，紧卷如花爆式，务要紧实，两头用纸封固，外
用印花布包，面亦要整齐好看。用时将针以火 着，或按穴道，或在痛处，下衬以
方寸新红布数层，将针按上，若火旺布薄觉疼，可加垫布数层，但针必须三四枝点
着，一针 熄，又换一针，连进七针，无不立愈。近日亦有用粗纸衬患上针者亦效。
但衬纸衬布，俱要垫得平稳，若垫得有皱折，便要走泄火气，至伤良肉，起泡成灸
疮矣。脐间少腹非多衬红布不可轻试，若衬得不浓，怕灸疮溃烂误事。（太乙神针其功甚
巨，极有奇验，只恐施之不善，适足误事。澄曾见用此针隔皮袍针左臂麻木者，孰知持针重按，而皮袍袖口折
叠，火气蒸伤臂肉成疮为害，六十余日始愈，此其小误也。又见一张姓妇，年三十余，患腹痛服理中汤未愈，一
医用太乙神针针脐下丹田，一针其痛稍止，次日又针，而其腹痛更甚，岂知妇女皮肤被药针火气走散，灸疮大作，
溃烂钟口一块，洞腹透肠，无法补救而死。嗟乎！腹痛未必即亡，而医之用针不善，致戕其生，岂可归咎于太
乙神针乎！故不得不详述其误，以诫后之用此针者留意焉。）
通治痛风主方（出自《活人录》）
当归（三钱） 秦艽（二钱） 防风（一钱五分） 川芎 羌活（各一钱） 车前子 黄芩 枳壳（各五分）
用水煎煮。在午后临睡前服用。（治疗疼痛关键在于理顺气机，治疗风邪必须先凉血，气机顺畅则血液运行通畅而脉络通达，血液清凉则火热清除而风邪平息，疼痛自然不治自愈。如果再次感受风寒，导致体内湿火郁结不散的，加羌活、桂枝各五分，去掉黄芩、车前子，服用芎苏散。如果外部又感受暑湿，加苍术一钱五分，白术、泽泻、黄柏各一钱，去掉川芎、黄芩、枳壳，服用胜湿丹。血脉凝滞闭塞不通且疼痛剧烈的，加红花一钱五分，桃仁一钱，桂枝五分，去掉黄芩、车前子，服用祛风越婢酒及活络丹。病程长久导致血枯的，加牛膝一钱五分，制何首乌二钱，服用活络丹，或加味史国公药酒。病程长久导致气虚的，加白术三钱，人参一钱五分，减少当归一钱五分，去掉黄芩、枳壳，服用祛风越婢酒，兼服加味虎潜丸。如果是劳累过度内伤以及房事劳损体质虚弱的人，加人参三钱，知母一钱五分，牛膝一钱，去掉羌活、黄芩，服用滋阴百补丸，及滋阴百补酒，或加味史国公药酒。如果是寒湿风湿之痰，脉象濡软而微滑的，加白术一钱五分，半夏二钱，陈皮、苍术各一钱，去掉当归、黄芩、车前子，服用祛风越婢酒，或加味史国公药酒，及四妙散、活络丹、丸剂。血虚血热风热内盛的，服用凉血省风药酒，如果大便秘结小便不利的，服用搜风顺气丸。）

用无灰酒二斗浸泡，春夏两季浸泡十四天，秋冬两季浸泡二十一天，密封固定不漏气。每天空腹三次，每次饮一杯。药渣焙干研细，用好酒调和制成梧桐子大小的丸剂。每次服用七十丸，空腹用好酒送下。
骨节风疼。（出自《赤水玄珠》）

共同放入锅内熬化，蒸发尽水气滤清，再放入净锅内，加入真麻油三斤，熬至滴水不散，即火候已到，用棍搅匀。预先准备一只缸，贮大半缸水，将水把缸周遭泼湿，以免膏药沾在缸上，贮水已毕，即将麻布一方，将膏过入缸内，略温复取起，用手捏去水头，再入锅内化开，加入去油乳香、没药各六两，黄蜡八两，熬化搅匀撤去火，用筛加研细百草霜四五两，边入边搅，又以麻布过入水内，捏成团，平日都浸在水中，用多少只取多少只，顿化摊贴，一切痛风湿痹，麻木痛楚，筋骨疼痛如神。如果膏药太老可适量加麻油化匀摊用也可。

Main Prescription for the General Treatment of Gout (from *Huoren Lu*)
*Angelicae Sinensis Radix* (Danggui, 3 qian) *Gentianae Macrophyllae Radix* (Qinjiao, 2 qian) *Saposhnikoviae Radix* (Fangfeng, 1.5 qian) *Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizoma* (Chuanxiong) *Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix* (Qianghuo, each 1 qian) *Plantaginis Semen* (Cheqianzi) *Scutellariae Radix* (Huangqin) *Aurantii Fructus Immaturus* (Zhike, each 0.5 qian).
Decoct in water. Take after noon before going to sleep. (Treating pain lies mainly in smoothing Qi; treating wind requires first cooling the blood. When Qi is smooth, blood flows and meridians unblock; when blood is cool, fire clears and wind subsides. Pain will heal itself without specific treatment. If additionally affected by wind-cold, causing internal damp-heat to stagnate and not disperse, add *Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix* (Qianghuo) and *Cinnamomi Ramulus* (Guizhi), each 0.5 qian; remove *Scutellariae Radix* (Huangqin) and *Plantaginis Semen* (Cheqianzi); take *Xiongsu San*. If externally affected by summer-dampness, add *Atractylodis Rhizoma* (Cangzhu) 1.5 qian, *Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma* (Baizhu), *Alismatis Rhizoma* (Zexie), *Phellodendri Cortex* (Huangbai), each 1 qian; remove *Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizoma* (Chuanxiong), *Scutellariae Radix* (Huangqin), *Aurantii Fructus Immaturus* (Zhike); take *Shengshi Dan*. If blood vessels are凝closed and painful, add *Carthami Flos* (Honghua) 1.5 qian, *Persicae Semen* (Taoren) 1 qian, *Cinnamomi Ramulus* (Guizhi) 0.5 qian; remove *Scutellariae Radix* (Huangqin) and *Plantaginis Semen* (Cheqianzi); take *Qufeng Yebijiu* and *Huoluo Dan*. For long-standing disease with blood deficiency, add *Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix* (Niuxi) 1.5 qian, *Polygoni Multiflori Preparated Radix* (Zhi Shouwu) 2 qian; take *Huoluo Dan*, or *Jiawei Shiguogong Yaojiu*. For long-standing disease with Qi deficiency, add *Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma* (Baizhu) 3 qian, *Ginseng Radix* (Renshen) 1.5 qian, reduce *Angelicae Sinensis Radix* (Danggui) by 1.5 qian, remove *Scutellariae Radix* (Huangqin) and *Aurantii Fructus Immaturus* (Zhike); take *Qufeng Yebijiu*, combined with *Jiawei Huqian Wan*. For those injured by overwork or sexual exhaustion with weak constitution, add *Ginseng Radix* (Renshen) 3 qian, *Anemarrhenae Rhizoma* (Zhimu) 1.5 qian, *Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix* (Niuxi) 1 qian; remove *Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix* (Qianghuo) and *Scutellariae Radix* (Huangqin); take *Ziyin Baibu Wan*, *Ziyin Baibu Jiu*, or *Jiawei Shiguogong Yaojiu*. For phlegm from cold-damp and wind-damp with a soggy and slightly slippery pulse, add *Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma* (Baizhu) 1.5 qian, *Pinelliae Tuber* (Banxia) 2 qian, *Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium* (Chenpi) and *Atractylodis Rhizoma* (Cangzhu), each 1 qian; remove *Angelicae Sinensis Radix* (Danggui), *Scutellariae Radix* (Huangqin), *Plantaginis Semen* (Cheqianzi); take *Qufeng Yebijiu*, or *Jiawei Shiguogong Yaojiu*, *Simiao San*, *Huoluo Dan*, or pills. For blood deficiency with wind-heat flourishing internally, take *Liangxue Shengfeng Yaojiu*; if constipation and difficult urination occur, take *Soushun Fengqi Wan.)
Gout Medicinal Wine Prescription (Qian Qinglun). (Previously, Dou Zhongshu suffered from this disease in middle age, unable to move his limbs for five years. Multiple doctors failed to cure him. He accidentally met Li Rang who had this secret prescription. After preparation and consumption, within half a month his body felt light and clear, and the disease was cured. Soak in 2 dou of non-adulterated wine. Soak for 14 days in spring/summer, 21 days in autumn/winter. Seal tightly to prevent leakage. Drink one cup three times daily on an empty stomach. Dry the dregs, grind finely, mix with good wine to make pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take 70 pills per dose, washed down with good wine on an empty stomach.
Joint Wind Pain (from *Chishui Xuanzhu*).
*Aconitum carmichaelii Debx.* Radix Preparata (Da Chuanwu, 3 pieces, raw use) *Scorpio* (Quanshe, 21 pieces, raw use) *Sojae Semen Nigrum* (Shengheidou, 21 grains) *Pheretima* (Dilong, remove soil, wash with wine, 5 qian).
Grind into powder. Add *Moschus* (Shexiang) 1 fen, mix with glutinous rice paste to make pills the size of mung beans. Take 7 pills per dose, washed down with wine at night while lying down. Slight cold sweat should appear. Cure occurs after 1-2 doses.
Five-Juice Paste (Copybook).
*Raphani Sativi Radix* (Bailuobo) *Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens* (Jiang) *Allii Cepae Bulbus* (Cong) *Allii Tuberosi Rhizoma* (Jiu) (each 5 jin, crush to extract juice) *Brassicae Napus Semen* (Caizi, 0.5 jin, extract juice).
Boil the five juices into a paste until it forms beads when dropped in water. Add *Sesami Oleum* (Mayou), *Dongdan*, and *Lithargyrum* (Duanshi) for refining. Adjust amounts based on juice quantity. Make into plaster patches. Effective immediately regardless of disease duration.
*Zuojing Wan* (*Chishui Xuanzhu*) treats inability to move hands and feet, various bone and tendon pains, and wind sores all over the body.
*Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix* (Da Caowu, remove skin and navel) *Momordicae Semen* (Mubiezi, remove shell) *Balsamum Liquidum* (Baijiaoxiang) *Trogopterori Faeces* (Wulingzhi) (each 3.5 liang) *Mylabris* (Banmao, 5 pieces, remove head, feet, wings, vinegar-fried).
Grind finely. Use 1 sheng of powdered peeled raw black soybeans, mix with vinegar to make pills the size of Chinese quince seeds. Take 1 pill per dose, ground down with warm wine. Treats bone and tendon pain not yet needled. Effective after 3-5 doses. (This prescription once cured a person with flaccid paralysis unable to walk, showing results in less than ten days, which was very miraculous.)
Wind-Qi Pain where skin cannot tolerate clothing or bedding (from *Bencao Gangmu*).
*Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens* (Shengjiang), *Allii Cepae Bulbus* (Cong) (each 0.5 jin, crush to extract juice and boil thick).
Add 3 strips of *Colla Corii Asini* (Shuijiao), cut into pieces, melt and stir well. Apply to painful area. Puncture with large needle on mulberry bark paper, tear and paste. Pain stops immediately.
Another prescription:
Old ginger, *Impatiens balsamina* leaves, *Zanthoxyli Pericarpium* powder, *Sesami Oleum*.
Crush and rub on painful area, or wash with decoction of *Impatiens balsamina* seeds. Also effective.
Another prescription:
*Colla Piscis* (Yujiao, 4 liang), Ginger juice (1 bowl).
Boil together into paste, spread on cloth, apply to painful area. Stops pain immediately.
Gout with wandering pain in bones and joints all over the body.
*Pini Massonianae Ramulus* (You Songjie) *Bombyx Batryticatus* (Wancansha).
Soak in wine, boil and drink. Daily regular consumption.
Wind-Damp Arm Pain.
*Gentianae Macrophyllae Radix* (Qinjiao, 1 qian) *Angelicae Sinensis Radix* (Quan Danggui) *Saposhnikoviae Radix* (Fangfeng) (each 2 qian) *Dioscoreae Hypoglaucae Rhizoma* (Caobai) *Chaenomelis Fructus* (Mugua) *Spatholobi Caulis* (Haifengteng) *Solanum lyratum Thunb. Root* (Baiqiegen) (each 3 qian) *Ephedrae Herba* (Mahuang, 5 qian).
2 jin of wine, boil 4-5 times in clay pot. Steam and wash arm. Twice daily, do not neglect. (Qian Qinglun said: My mother once suffered from this condition, tested immediately effective. Later treated others, all responded.)
Another prescription: White *Impatiens balsamina* flowers soaked in liquor, drinking is also effective.
Zhou Hexian Astragalus Decoction
*Tender Astragali Radix* (Nen Huangqi, 3 liang) *Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma* (Baizhu, 2 liang) *Rehmanniae Radix* (Shengdihuang) *Scrophulariae Radix* (Yuanshen) (each 1 liang) *Chrysanthemi Flos* (Gan Juhua, 5 qian).
Decoct in water and take. One dose reduces pain slightly, two doses eliminate pain, three doses cure. Adding *Saposhnikoviae Radix* (Fangfeng) 1 liang is even better.
Wind-Phlegm Numbness Wind-Damp Medicinal Wine (Jiang Rengdu)
*Large Rehmanniae Radix* (Da Shengdi, 10 liang) *Ziziphi Spinosae Semen* (Stir-fried) *Angelicae Sinensis Radix* (Dangguishen) *Spatholobi Caulis* (Haitongpi) *Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix* (Qianghuo) *Dioscoreae Hypoglaucae Rhizoma* (Chuan Bibai - add for wind-damp, each 2 liang) *Lycii Cortex* (Digupi) *Cyperi Rhizoma* (Chuan Niuxi, each 1.5 liang) *Cinnamomi Ramulus* (Guizhi) *Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma* (Gancao) (each 5 qian).
20 jin of strong liquor, cellar-seep for 7 days before taking. Drink 2-3 small cups per time, not too much. Long-term use strengthens bones and tendons, improves walking, and treats bone and tendon pain.
Wan Ying Gao (Jiang Rengdu).
*Pure Pine Resin* (Jing Songxiang, 10 jin) *Rhei Radix et Rhizoma* (Sheng Dahuang) *Phellodendri Cortex* (Huangbai) *Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma* (Gancao) *Sophorae Flavescentis Radix* (Kushen) (each 2 liang) *Atractylodis Rhizoma* (Cangzhu, 1 liang) *Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens Juice* (Shengjiang Zhi) *Allii Cepae Juice* (Cong Zhi) (each 2 jin).
Boil together in pot until melted, evaporate water vapor, filter clear. Return to clean pot, add 3 jin of true *Sesami Oleum* (Mayou). Boil until dropping in water does not scatter (fire degree reached). Stir evenly with stick. Prepare a vat half-filled with water, wet the outside of the vat to prevent sticking. Pour paste through hemp cloth into vat, let cool slightly, retrieve, squeeze out water head. Return to pot to melt again, add 6 liang each of de-oiled *Boswelliae Resina* (Ruxiang) and *Myrrhae Resina* (Moyao), 8 liang *Apis Cera* (Huangla). Melt and stir, remove fire. Add 4-5 liang of finely ground *Herba Taxilli cum Folio* (Baicaoshuang) through sieve, stirring continuously. Pass through hemp cloth into water, knead into balls. Store immersed in water daily. Take as needed, melt and spread. Effective for all wind-damp bi syndrome, numbness, pain, bone and tendon pain like magic. If paste is too old, add appropriate amount of sesame oil to soften and spread.
Chushi Guben Gao (Sold by Yuan Dingchen for 3 taels per sheet). Applies to all wind-damp, bone and tendon pain, stops pain immediately.
*Ginseng Radix* (Renshen, separately ground) *Large Prepared Rehmanniae Radix* (Da Shudi) *Astragali Radix* (Huangqi) *Eucommiae Cortex* (Wujiaopi, remove rough bark, each 5 qian) *Large Prepared Aconitum Lateralis Radix* (Da Fuzi, remove skin and navel) *Angelicae Sinensis Radix* (Danggui) *Dipsaci Radix* (Chuan Xuduan) *Cyperi Rhizoma* (Chuan Niuxi) *Cinnamomi Ramulus* (Chi Gui - if unavailable, use Nong Gui, each 3 qian) *Pruni Armeniacae Semen* (Xingren, remove skin and tip) *Angelicae Dahuricae Radix* (Baizhi, remove tips, each 1.5 qian).
Cook above herbs with 1 jin of sesame oil until herbs are dry. Filter clear, remove dregs. Return oil to clean pot, add Ginseng powder, simmer until drops form beads and do not scatter. Add 7 liang of calcined yellow litharge (Fei Huangdan) to collect. Pour into water to remove fire toxicity. Store tightly in porcelain jar. Spread for use when needed.
Linhe Fengqi Medicinal Wine
*Angelicae Sinensis Radix* (Dangguishen, 1.5 liang) *Paeoniae Radix Alba* (Baishaoyao) *Coicis Semen* (Yiyiren) *Rehmanniae Radix* (Shengdi) (each 1 liang) *Cyperi Rhizoma* (Xiangfu) *Eucommiae Cortex* (Duzhong) (each 8 qian) *Pantheris Os* (Hubagu, su-fried) *Gentianae Macrophyllae Radix* (Qinjiao) (each 6 qian) *True Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizoma* (Zhen Chuanxiong, 7 qian) *Dipsaci Radix* (Chuan Xuduan) *Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix* (Qianghuo) *Eucommiae Cortex* (Wujiaopi) (each 5 qian).
Use first-press wine 30 jin. Seal and boil for duration of 3 incense sticks. Place on earth to remove fire energy for 7 days. Warm drink one cup every night.
Zijin Ding Treats whole-body wind-damp, bone and tendon pain. Cure in three doses.

Grind into fine powder. Store tightly in porcelain bottle. Or mix with old rice paste to make cakes, weigh 2-3 qian, dry in shade, store tightly. Dosage depends on age and strength. Grind with wine to 30-50% solution. Take with hot wine. Sweating and avoiding wind are crucial.
Wandering Wind-Toxin Pain: Grind small mustard seeds into powder, mix with egg white, apply topically.
Various subcutaneous pain: *Polygoni Multiflori Radix* powder mixed with ginger juice into paste, apply to painful area, wrap with cloth, iron with heated shoe sole.
Taiyi Divine Needle (*Jiyan*) treats all gout wind-cold-damp, bone and tendon pain.

Grind into fine powder. Layer one sheet of cotton paper, two sheets of high square paper. Cut width 1.25 chi, length 1.2 chi. Spread medicine thinly on paper. Each needle uses about 0.7-0.8 qian. Roll tightly like a firecracker, ensure tightness. Seal both ends with paper. Wrap in printed cloth, keep surface neat. To use, ignite needle with fire. Press on acupoint or painful area. Place several layers of new red cloth underneath. Press needle onto cloth. If fire is strong and cloth thin causing pain, add more layers. Must light 3-4 needles simultaneously. When one extinguishes, replace with another. Continue for 7 needles. Immediate cure follows. Recently, using coarse paper under the needle on the affected area is also effective.
Ensure padding paper/cloth is flat. Wrinkles cause fire energy to leak and damage healthy flesh, causing blisters and moxa sores. Umbilical and lower abdominal areas require thick red cloth padding; do not experiment lightly. If padding is insufficient, fear ulceration and complications. (Taiyi Divine Needle has great efficacy and miraculous results. However, improper application causes harm. I have seen cases where applying this needle through leather robes for left arm numbness caused severe burns due to folded sleeves trapping heat, healing only after 60+ days, a minor error. I also saw a 30-year-old woman with abdominal pain unresponsive to Lizhong Tang. A doctor used Taiyi Divine Needle on the lower abdomen/Dantian. Pain stopped initially, but worsened next day. The fire energy dispersed through female skin, causing severe moxa sores, ulceration penetrating the abdomen and intestines, leading to death. Alas! Abdominal pain does not necessarily lead to death, but improper needle use killed her. How can we blame Taiyi Divine Needle? Thus, I detail these errors to warn future practitioners.)
