Feng Luzhan stated: There are two types of pain in the eyebrow and orbital bone, both belonging to wind-heat and phlegm of the Liver Meridian, or manifesting as wind-phlegm syndrome; their treatment is similar to that of gout. However, the brain is the sea of marrow, and the Kidneys govern the bones. This condition often arises because Kidney Yin fails to nourish, leading to a deficiency of marrow, resulting in brain vacuity. Fire rises from within, while cold binds externally, which is the origin of the pain. All places where high bones protrude and where eyebrows grow rely on the essence and qi of the respective zang organs for nourishment. If the essence and qi of these organs are deficient, the hair, flesh, and bones in those areas will not be nourished. Thus, the *Ling Shu* states: "Where the blood and qi of the Foot-Taiyang (Bladder) meridian above are abundant, the eyebrows are beautiful, and the eyebrows have fine hairs." From this perspective, pain in the supraorbital ridge occurs because Liver Blood has lost its nourishing function, and Kidney Water also fails to nourish the bones. Therefore, it is believed that within three years, severe diseases like Fengji (leprosy or similar severe dermatological conditions) may arise, indicating that since the root has been uprooted, external pathogens take advantage of the deficiency. Treatment must primarily focus on tonifying the Liver and Kidneys, with a minor addition of wind-dispelling herbs to allow the medicinal power to reach the upper body. If one does not understand this principle and merely engages in acrid-warm dispersing methods, the Yin meridians will become increasingly deficient, exacerbating the harm. (From *Jinnang*)
