[Perineal Carbuncle]
Crush the whole plant of *Paederia scandens* (Wuzhualong) including roots to extract juice, mix with wine for oral administration, taken four or five times daily. [Saddle Sore / Seborrheic Dermatitis of Buttocks]
Chen Shigong stated: "Zuo Ban Chuang" (Saddle Sore), commonly known as such, arises on the thighs. It appears dense like scattered millet grains, sharp like thorns, causing extreme itching and pain, with hair standing on end all over the body. This is caused by wind invading a heat-prone constitution, closing the pores, or by damp-heat lingering from previous sores. For washing, use Kushen Decoction (*Kushen Tang*). For severe cases where skin damage causes clothes to stick, treat primarily with Ehuang San (*Ehuang Powder*). (From *Yi Zong Jin Jian: Zheng Zong*)
Jiang Shiji stated: Saddle sores may result from sitting long periods in damp, low-lying areas, or sitting on stones under the scorching sun, brewing damp-heat, which can cause this condition. (From *Shuo Yue*)
Shen Douyuan stated: This is damp-heat in the Spleen meridian, formed by damp-toxin stagnating for a long time. It is extremely painful and itchy. Moreover, the thighs are a place of extreme Yin, where blood flow is scarce, so medicinal efficacy rarely reaches there. Therefore, external treatments should be used. (From *Qi Xuan*)
*Yi Zong Jin Jian: Xin Fa Yao Jue* states: Saddle sore is also called Feng Gan.
