\r骨羡疮\p04-a41a146.bmp\r

\r腰带痈\p04-a41a148.bmp\r
Bone Exostosis Ulcer (Gu Xian Chuang)
Shen Douyuan stated: Bone exostosis ulcer is a disease occurring in the Foot-Taiyang Bladder Meridian (a meridian characterized by abundant blood and deficient qi). It arises near the Shentang (BL-44) acupoint, located between the Guanyuanshu (BL-23) and Geshushu (BL-17) acupoints. In the initial stage, it presents with unbearable itching, resembling blistering water sores; if scratched open, bone may be visible underneath. If, after ten days, the entire body becomes itchy, the condition is incurable. (From *Qixuan*)
Cucumber Carbuncle (Huang Gua Yong)
Shen Douyuan stated: Cucumber carbuncle arises on the anterior aspect of the hypochondrium, measuring more than one chi in length and protruding two cun in height. If the upper end is small and the lower end large, it is termed "Reverse Toxin" (Ni Du), which is difficult to treat; if the lower end is small and the upper end large, it is termed "Smooth Toxin" (Shun Du), which is treatable. (From *Qixuan*)
Belt Carbuncle (Yao Dai Yong)
Wang Shengzhi stated: Belt carbuncle arises at the hypochondriac region near the waist where the belt is tied. It is caused by wind-heat pathogenic factors stagnating in the Bladder Meridian, failing to seep and drain properly, and accumulating in the muscular surface. (From *Lili*)
Dou Hanqing stated: Fire Belt Toxin results from heat-toxin in the Heart and Liver meridians flowing into and stagnating in the Bladder Meridian without moving, accumulating in the skin. This constitutes wind-toxin. Treatment should primarily focus on clearing the Liver. External applications are contraindicated. (From *Quan Shu*)
Xue Lizhai stated: Fire Belt arises at the location corresponding to the belt tie. Initially, it resembles a peach, gradually becoming red and swollen. The "Du Jie Yao Fa" (Method to Cut Off Toxin and Intercept the Waist) should be applied externally. Otherwise, five or six smaller toxic nodules will gradually develop, winding around the waist like a rope. They first present as red and swollen, then ulcerate, accompanied by alternating chills and fever, unbearable pain, and a purple, foul discoloration.
Method to Cut Off Toxin and Intercept the Waist (Duan Du Jie Yao Fa)
Bletilla Rhizome (Bai Ji) and Realgar (Xiong Huang) (one liang each)
Grind into fine powder. Mix with egg white and apply to the periphery of the lesion for six to seven layers thick. Replace when dry. If discharge ceases after five to six days of application, the outcome is excellent.
*Xin Fa* stated: You Yong (Deep Carbuncle) arises seven cun above the umbilicus. Initially, it resembles a millet grain, gradually increasing in size with diffuse swelling and pain, taking the shape of a goose egg. In severe cases, it becomes hard, and the pain radiates to the chest and hypochondrium. This condition arises from excessive consumption of rich and greasy foods, combined with worry and anxiety causing Qi stagnation and intestinal obstruction. Heat becomes郁 (stagnant/oppressed) and transforms into toxin, erupting from the interior to the exterior.
