Baitong San (Broken Copper Powder): For Shanguantou (a carbuncle occurring on the neck) that has ulcerated, with persistent purulent discharge, recurring after healing, and failing to close over a long period. Take old jars used for smelting copper, grind them into fine powder. Cleanse the toxin from the wound, mix with sesame oil, and apply externally. Avoid dietary restrictions (taboo foods).
For chronic non-healing cases: Scrape off the accumulated dirt from bricks inside a cesspit using a bamboo knife. Preserve the medicinal properties (calcine until carbonized), grind into powder, mix with hemp seed oil, and apply externally.
Another prescription: Apply one piece of snake skin (She Tui, Ophichan Skin) moistened with saliva onto the sore. This will promote pus discharge and wound contraction.
Another prescription: Mash the flesh of dark plum (Wumei, Fructus Mume) until smooth, then mash again with yellow honey until it forms a paste. Spread according to the size of the sore and apply. This eliminates necrotic tissue and treats protruding granulation tissue in various sores and boils.
Another prescription: Boil two taels of scallion (Cong Bai, Scallion Stem), one tael of fresh ginger (Shengjiang, Rhizoma Zingiberis Recens), and four taels of pine rosin (Songxiang, Rosina) together. When the pine rosin reaches the appropriate consistency, remove the scallion and ginger while hot. Use the hot pine rosin to bind the Shanguantou, allowing pus to drain externally, preventing cross-infection. Apply a plaster, followed by tissue-regenerating medicine for rapid healing.
Another prescription: Apply fermented dough around the periphery of the sore, and apply a plaster to the neck area to facilitate healing.
Another prescription: Take an old leather-soled shoe, clean off the mud, burn until carbonized (preserve nature), grind into powder, mix with rapeseed oil, and apply. Pus will discharge naturally; this has proven effective repeatedly.
Another prescription: Collect soot from smoke hanging indoors (Guochen, Soot), mix with pig bile, and apply.
Another prescription: Crush porcelain vessels, grind into powder, mix with egg white, and apply.
Another prescription: Grind Baicaoshuang (Potsoot, Fomes Officinalis/Carbonized residue) finely, mix with rapeseed oil, and apply to the periphery for immediate effect.
Another prescription:
Tongqing (Malachite, 1 liang)
Songxiang (Pine Rosin, 5 qian)
Bimazi (Castor Seed, 60 grains)
Three scallions, mashed into a paste, spread on blue cloth, and applied.
Another prescription: Apply the peel of raw red persimmon to the affected area; it will dry spontaneously.
Chen Shigong stated: Baixuefeng (White Dandruff Wind) mostly occurs in the head, face, ears, neck, and hair-bearing areas. Initially, there is slight itching; over time, white scales gradually appear, layer upon layer, falling off only to regenerate. This arises from individuals with a hot constitution exposed to wind, transformed by wind-heat. Treatment should begin with Xiaofeng San (Wind-Expelling Powder) and Yuji San (Jade-Skin Powder), followed by moisturizing with Danggui Gao (Angelica Ointment). If itching in the hair is accompanied by serous exudate, apply Cuiyun Ding (Emerald Cloud Plug) from the Yangmeichuang (Yaws) section externally. (From *Zhengzong*)
Gu Shicheng stated: Baixuefeng can be cured by washing with a decoction of Houpo (Magnolia Bark) or Sangye (Mulberry Leaf).
