[Symptoms of Enuresis] The body is feverish, consciousness is unclear, urine flows out spontaneously without awareness, and the urine color is yellow and reddish; this is the symptom pattern of enuresis caused by external contraction.
[Etiology of Enuresis] External contraction of exterior pathogens (pathogens affecting the body surface) combined with internal accumulation of heat; when heat reaches an extreme level causing coma, enuresis occurs uncontrollably.
[Pulse Patterns in Enuresis] If the pulse is floating and large (Fu Da), there is an exterior pathogen. If the pulse is deep and rapid (Chen Shu), there is internal heat binding. If the left pulse is wiry and rapid (Xian Shu), it indicates exogenous pathogenic heat. If the right pulse is slippery and excess (Hua Shi), it indicates phlegm-dampness and food stagnation.
[Treatment of Enuresis] For cases with exterior pathogens, use Qianghuo Fangfeng Tang (Notopterygium and Saposhnikovia Decoction). For cases with a rapid pulse indicating internal heat, use Daochi Geban Tang (Half-Combination Decoction for Guiding Out Redness). For pulses that are excess, slippery, and rapid, indicating severe food stagnation filling the stomach, use Zhishi Xiaozhi Tang (Immature Bitter Orange Decoction for Resolving Stagnation). For phlegm stagnating in the Zhongwan region, use Erchen Tang (Two-Aged Decoction) added with Shichangpu (Acorus), or use Daotan Tang (Phlegm-Resolving Decoction). For constipation with interior excess syndrome and indications for purgation, use Sanhua Tang (Three Transformations Decoction).

[Symptoms of Enuresis] Spirit is clear, yet enuresis occurs frequently, seemingly lacking control; speech is weak and faint, dietary intake gradually decreases, and loose stools pass involuntarily; this is the symptom pattern of enuresis caused by internal injury.
[Etiology of Enuresis] Deficiency of Kidney Yuan (Original Qi); True Yang cannot consolidate itself. Since the Kidney governs closure and storage, Kidney deficiency leads to failure in opening and closing functions. Deficiency of True Yin allows Liver Fire to disturb internally. Since the Liver governs dispersion and drainage, when fire moves, urine accumulates unstoppably and leaks out, resulting in enuresis.
[Pulse Patterns in Enuresis] A scattered and large pulse indicates deficiency-cold of Middle Qi (Spleen/Stomach Qi). Six pulses that are soggy and soft (Ru Ruan) indicate deficiency of Qi and Blood. A Floating and Large Pulse at the Chi position (Cun-Kou pulse location corresponding to Kidneys/Lower Jiao) indicates True Fire escaping outward. A Deep and Rapid Pulse at the Chi position indicates exhaustion of True Yin within.
[Treatment of Enuresis] For a scattered pulse indicating Middle Qi deficiency, use Buzhong Yiqi Tang (Decoction for Supplementing the Middle and Augmenting Qi). For a Floating and Large Pulse at the Chi position, use Bawei Shenqi Wan (Eight-Ingredient Pill Tonifying Kidney Qi). For Deep and Rapid Pulses at both Chi positions, use Sancai Tang (Three Heaven Decoction) added with Ophiopogonis Radix (Mendong), Schisandrae Fructus (Wuweizi), Phellodendri Cortex (Huangbai), and Anemarrhenae Rhizoma (Zhimu).
