The migration of Mercurius (Shuiyin) within the body is as described above. This condition is not common, and acupuncture cannot achieve efficacy; students of medicine should be aware of this.
Appendix: Nine Medical Cases
Having been blind for a long time, one is alive yet dead. Once seeing the human world again, even if much gold is required, one should willingly comply. Moreover, there are "Heavenly Doctors" who do not love money and are willing to bestow grace! However, the following nine generations regarded it as easy, not only failing to show gratitude but also framing, harboring resentment, and committing fraud. They are like snakes, scorpions, ants, and maggots combined into one body, with the heart of a pig and the conduct of a dog, insufficient to describe their filth and evil. Those who read this and do not have their hair stand on end in anger are certainly not men of integrity.
Luo Dongshan from Shaowu was the son raised by Luo Ying, a clerk. At thirty years old, he was extremely poor. He heard that Zhang, the wife abandoned by Wu, had returned to her mother's home. Her mother had some savings, sufficient for coarse porridge and pickles. Through connections, Luo Dongshan became a matrilocal husband (ruzhui). However, the wife was old and childless, daring to be angry but not speaking out, her vision gradually faded until she went blind. At that time, Ge, the Provincial Education Commissioner, conducted the annual examination. Luo Dongshan, supporting a blind person, went for verification. His younger brother and nephews saw him and advised him to visit Yu (the author). Yu's friend, Ai Nantian, had once stayed at Yi Fang's residence. Luo Ying, coveting Ai Nantian's wealth, ordered Dongshan to treat him like a father. Now, relying on Ai Nantian, he sought treatment vigorously. All expenses were covered by them. The cost of medicine was gifted to Ai Xiuzhan, Ai Nantian's elder brother, likely out of pity for his poverty and illness, and willingness to assist. Unexpectedly, after both eyes regained sight through acupuncture, they firmly denied it. Instead, citing blackness and pain, they wailed day and night. Mother Ai suspected hunger or cold, frequently sending provisions. Yet his crying became more frequent and wailing louder. I directly scolded but could not stop him, so we planned to carry him back. In the spring of the next year, Tingzhen, the nephew of Brother Xiu, passed the examination to become a student member (shengyuan). Through peers' words about recent circumstances, it was known that he had submitted a petition for supplementary examination. The year after that, Ai Nantian died. For Mother Ai's eightieth birthday, there was not a single word of inquiry. Regardless of whether one should not forget kindness received, even among casual acquaintances, such inhumanity does not exist.
Since I am proficient in acupuncture, I burned incense and prayed to Heaven, wishing that anyone curable, regardless of poverty or nobility, would receive medical treatment. Feng Renraodao was born with Silver Star Cataract (Yinxing Neizhang); his parents were astonished, loving him more than usual.
