读书劳目力，年过四十，阴气半衰，神光渐减，
两目昏花，宜用∶
枸杞二、三斤，肥大赤色者，乳拌蒸烂捣膏，加
水煎，泞出浓汁，去渣加蜜，又熬成膏，贮瓷器内。
每早用滚水，或元眼、参汤，调下四、五茶匙。夏月
加辽五味子二两。
生地（二两） 黄连（一两） 黄柏 寒水石（各五钱）
归尾 红花（各二钱）
先将地黄酒浸，捣烂如泥。和药成饼，摊油纸
上，贴目上下。
此膏不但撞损瞳人可用，凡风热赤目、泪出等眼，
皆可用。其性凉血，其功行血，且去热毒。内服∶
石决明 草决明 防风 赤芍 柴胡 白芷（各
八分） 菊花（一钱二分） 川芎 羌活 蒺藜 红花（各
五分） 当归（一钱） 栀子（六分）
加姜皮些须，灯心二十寸，水二钟，煎八分，食
远温服。
目因物撞，瘀血蓄内，致生翳障，疼痛昏花。先
用通血散，次服经效散、还睛丸。
生地 赤芍 当归（各一钱） 川芎 防风 苏木
（各六分） 荆芥（八分） 菊花（一钱五分） 红花 炙甘草
（各五分）
葱头二个，水二钟，煎八分，食后温服。
读书过度用眼，年龄超过四十岁，阴气减半衰退，神光逐渐减弱，双眼昏花模糊，适宜使用：
枸杞二至三斤，选择肥大且呈赤红色的，用乳汁拌匀后蒸烂捣成膏状，加水煎煮，滤出浓汁，去除药渣加入蜂蜜，再次熬制成膏，储存在瓷器中。每天早晨用滚水，或者元眼汤、人参汤，调服四到五茶匙。夏季添加辽五味子二两。

先将生用地黄酒浸泡，捣烂如泥状。与药物混合做成饼状，摊在油纸上，贴敷于眼睛上下方。
此膏不仅适用于撞击损伤瞳孔的情况，凡是风热引起的红眼、流泪等眼病，都可以使用。其性质凉血，功效活血，并且能去除热毒。内服：
石决明 草决明 防风 赤芍 柴胡 白芷（各八分） 菊花（一钱二分） 川芎 羌活 蒺藜 红花（各五分） 当归（一钱） 栀子（六分）
加入少许姜皮，灯心草二十寸，水两钟，煎至八分，饭后稍远时间温服。

Reading excessively strains the eyes. After the age of forty, Yin Qi (Vital Energy of Yin) is half depleted, and Shen Guang (Spiritual Light/Vision) gradually diminishes. The eyes become dim and blurred; it is suitable to use:
Gouqi (Lycium Fruit) two to three jin (approx. 1-1.5 kg), selecting those that are plump and reddish in color. Mix with milk, steam until soft, and mash into a paste. Add water and decoct, filter out the thick juice, remove the dregs, add honey, and boil again into an ointment. Store in porcelain vessels. Each morning, take four or five tea spoons mixed with boiling water, or Yuan Yan Tang (Eye-Nourishing Decoction) or Renshen Tang (Ginseng Decoction). In summer, add Liaowuweiizi (Schisandra Chinensis Fruit) two liang (approx. 75g).
If the eyeball is struck by an object, causing pain and residual blood stasis in the eye socket, it is suitable to use:
Shengdi Huang (Rehmanniae Radix) (2 liang), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma) (1 liang), Huangbai (Phellodendri Cortex), Hanshuishi (Calcitum) (each 5 qian);
Danggui Wei (Angelicae Sinensis Radix Caudex), Honghua (Carthami Flos) (each 2 qian).
First, soak Shengdi Huang in yellow wine, mash it until it resembles mud. Mix with the other medicines to form cakes, spread them on oil paper, and apply to the upper and lower eyelids.
This ointment can be used not only for traumatic injury to the pupil but also for any eye conditions caused by Wind-Heat such as red eyes and tearing. Its nature cools the Blood, its function promotes Blood circulation, and it eliminates Heat toxins. Internal administration:
Shijueming (Haliotidis Concha), Juemingzi (Cassiae Semen), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Chishao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra), Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix), Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix) (each 8 fen);
Juhua (Chrysanthemi Flos) (1.2 qian), Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Jili (Tribuli Fructus), Honghua (Carthami Flos) (each 5 fen);
Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) (1 qian), Zhizi (Gardeniae Fructus) (6 fen).
Add a small amount of Jiangpi (Zingiberis Pericarpium), Dengxincao (Junci Medulla) 20 cun (approx. 6.6 cm). Decoct with 2 zhong (approx. 400ml) of water until reduced to 0.8 zhong. Take warm after meals, leaving some time gap.
When the eye is injured by an object, causing internal blood stasis leading to the formation of nebula (corneal opacity), pain, and blurred vision. First use Tongxue San (Blood-Promoting Powder), then administer Jingxiao San (Effectively Efficacious Powder) and Huanjing Wan (Restore Vision Pill).
Shengdi Huang (Rehmanniae Radix), Chishao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) (each 1 qian);
Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Sumu (Sappan Lignum) (each 6 fen);
Jingjie (Schizonepetae Spica) (8 fen), Juhua (Chrysanthemi Flos) (1.5 qian), Honghua (Carthami Flos), Zhi Gancao (Prepared Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) (each 5 fen).
Use 2 scallion heads, decoct with 2 zhong of water until reduced to 0.8 zhong. Take warm after meals.
Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma), Baishao (Paeoniae Radix Alba), Lianqiao (Forsythiae Fructus), Fencao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma - refined) (each 1 qian);
Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix) (each 2 qian);
Xijiao Mo (Rhinocerotis Cornu Pulvis) (5 fen).
Decoct with 2 zhong of water until reduced to 0.8 zhong. Take warm after meals, then administer Huanjing Wan (Restore Vision Pill).
