[Section 1: Bai Shiyong (White Quartz)]
Taste is sweet, nature is neutral. It primarily treats cough with rebellious Qi (cough and asthma). It addresses zheng jia (abdominal masses), blood obstruction, and metrorrhagia (irregular vaginal bleeding). It expels pathogenic factors. Long-term consumption enables resistance to cold and heat, prevents hunger, lightens the body, and allows swift movement over a thousand li, resembling an immortal. It is also known as Shi Nao (Stone Brain). It grows in mountain valleys.
It is precious like a deity, consumed to nourish Qi. It possesses the drying properties of Gan Jiang (Dried Ginger). Its core contains purity like melting snow; its shell sheds like floating clouds. It moves lightly over a thousand li. Harvesting occurs in the ninth month (late autumn). When fields are abundant, leftover grain is neglected; surplus grain remains on the stubble unharvested.
The *Records of the Grand Historian* states: The most honored of heavenly spirits is Tai Yi (Supreme One). The *Classic of Poetry* says: "Gan Mao yi qian" (referring to the dignity of the object). The *Gengxin Yuce* records: Shi Huang (Yellow Stone) has a hot nature; in some places, the snow on it melts first. Wu Pu said: It grows on Mount Tai, has a crust, and white substance within the crust. Harvest in September. The *Classic of Poetry* says: "There are leftover bundles there, and lingering ears of grain here." Zuo Si's fu says: "Surplus grain rests on the field unharvested."
[Section 2: Bai Shiyong (White Quartz) - Continued/Description]

It primarily treats xiao ke (wasting-thirst syndrome), impotence and insufficiency, cough with rebellious Qi, and long-standing cold in the chest and diaphragm. It tonifies Qi and expels wind-damp bi-obstruction. Long-term consumption lightens the body and prolongs life. It grows in mountain valleys.
Who carved the six facets? Blowing frost and refining snow, shaking shadows in the morning sun, gathering essence under the evening moon. The light of Xi Hua Mountain is hazy; the peak of Dong Feng Mountain stands towering. Excavation and climbing exploration are intricate like tangled fingers.
Famous physicians say: It grows in the valleys of Mount Hua and Mount Tai. It is finger-like, two or three cun long, with six flat faces like cut jade, bright white and lustrous. *Wenxin Diaolong* says: "Blowing frost and spraying dew." *Eryi Lu* records: Xiao Shi refined Snow Elixir. *Taiping Yulan* records: Long-term consumption allows one to resonate with the light of the sun and moon. Li Wei wrote a fu: "Suddenly shaking purple shadows." Ouyang Zhan wrote a fu: "Gathering essence floating up." Shen Quanqi's poem says: "The Grand Historian leaks gold to explore the text, fate fades in excavation."
[Section 3: Zi Shiyong (Purple Quartz)]
Taste is sweet, nature is warm. It primarily treats heart and abdominal cough with rebellious Qi and pathogenic factors. It tonifies deficiencies.
