Postpartum Jueyin channel affected by pathogenic factors leading to vomiting and distension in both hypochondriac regions indicates inevitable hematochezia, which is incurable. Pinggan Jiuxue Tang (Liver-Pacifying Blood-Saving Decoction) is indicated. If Jueyin syndrome presents with diarrhea and cold extremities, restlessness preventing lying down, or persistent cold extremities, these are all fatal signs; Shen Gui Tang (Ginseng and Angelica Decoction) is indicated.
Pinggan Jiuxue Tang (Liver-Pacifying Blood-Saving Decoction)
Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Maidong (Ophiopogonis Radix, heart removed, each 1 liang), Chuanxiong (Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizome, 5 qian), Sanqi (Notoginseng Radix et Rhizoma, powdered, 1 qian).
Decoct in water and take orally.
Shen Gui Tang (Ginseng and Angelica Decoction)
Renshen (Ginseng Radix), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Jingjie (Schizonepetae Spica, each 1 qian).
Decoct in water and take orally.
If the postpartum patient suddenly contracts Shaoyin syndrome, following Zhang Zhongjing's method, use Renshen (Ginseng Radix) and Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma) for warming. If ineffective, add Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata, processed) and Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) for treatment. This method is highly effective for Shaoyin pathogenic invasion.
If Shaoyin syndrome persists for three to seven days and suddenly presents with curled limbs, rapid breathing with asthma, nausea, and abdominal pain, it is incurable. This is due to Shaoyin contracting cold pathogens, forcing the True Yang within to float upward to the Upper Jiao, manifesting as false heat above and true cold below. Pingchuan Quhan San (Asthma-Calming Cold-Dispelling Powder) is indicated. If these symptoms occur suddenly half a month after delivery, approaching one month postpartum, Huchan Tang (Labor-Protecting Decoction) is indicated. If Shaoyin syndrome presents with Kidney water flooding upward, vomiting, and diarrhea, with True Yang flying away, this is also a fatal sign.
This occurs because postpartum Kidney fire is weak and driven away by cold, causing water to follow the cold downward. Buhuo Yinshui Tang (Fire-Supplementing Water-Guiding Decoction) is indicated. If postpartum hands and feet turn blue-black and the whole body turns black, it is incurable; this represents the heaviest Yin cold and most severe toxic qi, with no original method for revival. Temporarily administer a large dose of Kaiqing Sanhei Tang (Blue-Dispersing Black-Scattering Decoction). If the blue-black discoloration recedes, there is a chance of survival; otherwise, death ensues. If only the feet are purely blue with pain in the epigastrium, although slightly less severe than the aforementioned symptoms, the attack of cold toxin on the Heart is the same, making it incurable. Kaiqing Sanhei Tang (Blue-Dispersing Black-Scattering Decoction) is also effective. This condition progresses from below to above; dispersing the lower cold resolves the upper cold, hence it responds easily.
